Men's Tennis Match Highlights 7.47 vs 8.96 UTR Tournament First Round
USOpen John is back with a tournament match.
My forehand wasn't really doing what I wanted it to do today but I'm not sure how much of a difference it would have made. Opponent was very good. The second set I was going for more instead of playing bread and butter tennis hence the scoreline.

My favorite points from my latest 4.5 tennis match

I (7.33 UTR) play Dion (8.49 UTR) in a match. I go up early but then blow the lead. What went well: my serve consistency from moving forward as I serve even on the second serve...my forehand had a lot more power and anything greater than net height I think I handled really well. What could have gone better: Low forehands I need to bend my legs deeper. I also need a little more wrist snap on the...

4.5 usta rated vs 5.5 Tennis Match Highlights, John vs Alejandro (12 utr)

Alejandro is a 12.0 UTR (estimated 5.5 NTRP) from Colombia South America. I posted Alejandro’s current UTR rating in the last 5 seconds of the video as proof. He is staying here in the US for a few months and we connected through some mutual friends. The only small advantage I had is that he is used to red clay and rarely plays on hard courts! I use the RF ProStaff 97 and string at 53lbs with I...
Mens 4.5 ntrp tennis match court level highlights, USOpen John vs Tennis Viking (former #1 at a D3)
Просмотров 81 тыс.4 года назад
Round 2 of USOpen John vs the tennis Viking. The viking formerly played #1 at a D3 college. I consider us to be between 4.5 and the 5.0 ntrp level. The last player with a UTR rating I beat was a 9.5 so I’m guessing our UTR level would be about 9-10. Tennis Viking shows NO MERCY! Mens 4.5 Tennis Match Full, Court Level View, Charlotte NC Fall 2020

The Tennis Viking played 1 spot at a D3 college and as you can see is absolutely relentless. I have a tough time swinging through the shots and placing the ball because he hits a very heavy topspin shot off both wings. I am working on attacking the return of serve which is why I was missing so many returns. Had a chance to go up 5-2 in the second set when serving at 4-2 40-15, but double faulte...

Serve at 1:02 looked long, but opponent played it.
Great match and good points! Was this the opponent that won his next match 6-1 6-0 (oh and the opponent had a higher UTR than you - near 8 if I’m not mistaken)? Pretty solid result if that’s the case.
I really enjoyed watching the tennis match video that you uploaded! I am just wondering how you edit it since editing every video takes a long time! Do you use tools or edit by yourself?
Serve at 1:29 looks out but Doug played it
Yeah, it's too hard to accurately call the close ones that are directly in front without sometimes also calling it out incorrectly. John's serve also tends to skid so it makes it even harder to see.
Good match, they both have a solid game! Both players should work on mimizing their unforced errors though, in particular the blue guy. Quite many points are lost because they go too hard for winner shots and miss them. So hitting like 80% of full strength is actually a good way to improve this.
decent play but idk about the rating with an avg rally of 2-3 shots
Awesome to see you back, and this is some super pleasant tennis as usual
Not even 4.5 where I’ve played. 5.0 serves are cannons.
Hey John, love Your channel! I prefer to learn from high level amateur players rather than the pros. One question, why do You often finish over Your head rather than across the body on Your forehand? Are You using eastern forehand grip? Do You have any side view videos?
What is 4.5? Y'all look beginner level
and? If you would play tennis by yourself you‘d know thats definitely not beginner level you brack😂 even if it would be beginner level whats your problem with it? we don‘t need ppl like you in the world and especially not in tennis.
4:42 This point was just insane. Incredible playing from you both.
Really nice playing, kept up really well in the first set, more or less impossible to win a match against someone with a 2+ UTR edge but great effort
5.0 ? wtf xD
The lighting gets better at 1:26
You had like 6-7 balls that were clearly out and not called by your opponent.
Your opponent is deceptively tough to beat woth his unorthodox play style
nice to see a match labelled as 4.5 on youtube being played by 4.5 players :)
Such a consistent serve; I feel like you never miss a first serve lol quite envious of that!, good video! new subscriber
John - it's good to see you playing so well. Off to the courts at Queens to have a hit this morning.
Man the sportsmanship between you two is top notch.
Great job on the video and the match my dude! This was a fun match to watch! I just started playing tennis again after a 25 year hiatus and I have been playing for about a year now. Just subscribed to your channel and I look forward to seeing you guys play again. Thanks for posting this video my friend.
5.0? 4.0 if we a being generous
Very decent 4.5 play
If we knew John's last name could look up on tennislink to verify record. 5.0 like shots and movement but maybe they were both playing below average this day.
who won?
I like the Viking's game. He doesn't give up ground on his groundstrokes and sets up nicely on both wings for his shots. Good match.
more like 4.5
Viking has exceptional footwork and is surprisingly quick for a guy his size. Great match, some very solid hitting from both.
Rusty or not, no way in hell should an 11 be losing games to a 7 and having a close set
Strong 4.5+ tennis for sure. Great net play from both, some fantastic pickups on some tough passing shots
Rofl! 5.0 my ass. Both of these guys are semi cans. 4.0 ,and thats being generous.
Such a clean game
Really solid serve mechanics - but I don’t believe I’ve seen this many unforced errors at a 5.0 level. Did you guys not warm up properly?!
Shot at 7:49 is world class. Loved the play at 09:56 and 12:30
On many shots the ball seems to hit in a substantially different spot than the tracker shows.
Looks like Karue sell
Nice BH John!
I love the hat! Style doesn't win matches but it's still an important part of the game and Sij has great style. He also has nice consistent top spin. I see people commenting on how hard it looks but personally, I find it much easier to find a good hitting rhythm against someone who consistently hits with pace and (top) spin, than players who mix it up (doubles style). Also these courts seem really noisy yeah? That would drive me nuts. Anyways great playing, thanks for posting.
That looks tough to play against. Borderline spinny moonballs.
4.0 at best
If you think these guys are 4.0 you're either delusional, or you've never played a lot of 4.0 tennis. 4.0s can't make nearly this many quality balls in a row.
@@johnnyblackrants7625 maybe you're just bad
@@johnnyblackrants7625quality balls? buddy youre the delusional one thinking those moonballs are quality lmao
@@sawgames8623 you definitely don’t play tennis
@@walterarama I can tell you're bad and uncoordinated already
love the vids bro
Looks rough , lots of his shots are 5 or 6 feet over the net.
Good match. This seems like exactly the level club players should aspire to. Going beyond this is just then a matter of cranking up the intensity meter incrementally. Solid 4.5 tennis here, in my view.
Thank you Michael. I totally agree. Its almost like is it even worth it to be better than this? Harder to find opponents, more physically demanding, more likely to get injured. Id rather stay 4.5 level and just play clean tennis
@@usopenjohn3725 That's an interesting question. As joint-repair technologies improve, it's possible to play high level tennis into one's 60s now. If you don't have OTHER pressing goals, it can be interesting to aspire to 5.0 tennis. What does that even look like? Even faster, even better serve, better tactics, quicker reflexes, hitting even harder. Tennis lends itself to obsession. I am starting to get obsessed. My next stop is basically where you are (though I am older). Already my mind is like "Okay ... then what? Is there yet another level I can reach?"
@@michaelchurchill1048after a certain point it becomes a game of being able to keep up the intensity while also continuing to be consistent. The better you are the more dynamic your movements / hits etc become the more strain you’ll put on your body
@@usopenjohn3725 A lot of people feel the same about staying 4.5, which results in extreme sandbagging. I got bumped to 4.5 and found many 5.0 and 5.5 level players hanging out there because there are not enough people at that level to create leagues or tournaments. Only way to keep playing without heavy travel expenses.
Those speeds are woefully inaccurate
True…I dont even know how we rec players are supposed to measure our speed. I dont even think a speed gun is accurate. The technology they use at pro tournaments is just unfortunately not available to us
@@usopenjohn3725the SwingVision site says to add 20 mph to get the max speed of the ball because the app measures the average mph and not the max.
SwingVision is accurate if (1) you take into account that it's speed of the shot over the entire flight of the ball, not right off the racket the way TV radar measures it (so, speeds are 10-20% lower on SwingVision than on TV/radar gun) and (2) SwingVision is inconsistent but the inconsistencies cancel out as the number of shots measured increases. If SwingVision shows your average forehand being 50mph, it's probably really 57mph, and any particular shot shown onscreen may be off by 20% in either direction. So, it's a great training tool but it's not so great as a measure-this-one-point tool.
Bro, I see you with the 118 mph HEAT at 1:00 🔥 😅
Im not sure its accurate lmao 🤣
great points to both of you
Thanks 🙏 😊
Great highlights! The behind the back at 0:20 was ridiculous
Hi John. So with SwingVision make sure you have enough memory on phone otherwise the video recording will stop once your phone reaches full memory. When you upload swing vision matches to their cloud service, you want to have swing vision app opened and be on WiFi. If the upload speed is slow, force quit the app, then restart again. Do not turn phone screen off and leave phone on swing vision app to max the speed of your uploads. Once video is done, hit offload file to free up memory on your phone. Feel free to ask me any other questions on the app as I have used it for 3 years now.
Definitely higher than 4.5. Nice hitting.
I think this is higher than 4.5
it’s not.
Absolutely but these are highlights, only. If they played this well on every point of the whole match, then certainly they'd be 5.0, but we're left to assume that the non-highlighted points were less impressive.
