Hey Acing tennis! You are right in your analysis, blue shirt (me) needs to work on that hah! To answer your question red shirt is my teammate from a league in Charlotte called the “pro league “ without about 150 players. There is lots of tennis in Charlotte! Thanks for the watch and I subscribed to your channel as well!
Blue shirt (John I believe) has that Murray flat, yet reliable backhand. Would like to see more aggressive returns with that wing on the 2nd serves. Great hitting overall, keep up the great work you guys!
Great level of play. Blue shirt looks very relaxed and loose in a lot shots but tenses up at the end so that he doesn't get the full follow through all the time is what it looks like to me. Could be wrong. Regardless you guys are solid and was a fun match to watch. Is this a league of some sort at 5.0 level?
Agreed. He coils but doesn't completely uncoil. His chest is always finishing facing front no matter where the shot goes. His forehand, therefore, becomes almost all arm and elbow which reduces pace and accuracy. My wife does the same thing. Good match.
Good hitting. These guys would definitely beat most 4.5s; ergo, they are 5.0. I can so relate to the way both of them played the 1st set. Blue shirt wasn't focused and tried to go for winners and then when he played to win the point by slicing the return, keeping the ball in play, it started to work for him. Around the same time, you can tell red shirt started to think a little ahead of himself and let a 40-15, 4-1 slip by playing a little loose.
John played MEP and I watched that fabulous match. He got off to a slow start there, as well, then began to junk the junker and came back to win it after a see-saw third set. When John started missing everything at the start of the first set, I thought, "Why not throw some junk at the other guy, just so you can get some balls in the court?".....chip, slice, lob, drop, etc. John, you've got a good junk game....use it....
For all the people commenting they they aren’t 5.0, looking at technique doesn’t determine level of play especially at lower level tennis like 5.0 and under. Instead look at their results and real facts instead of judging their strokes. These are the same people who would look at Ernest gulbis or robin soderling and say they are 4.5 at best haha Also speed and spin aren’t respresented the same on every recording device. Some players miss more but also create less rhythm and more forced errors for their opponents by going for so much. Only people who don’t recognize the whole scope of tennis would argue a factual rating based on results using their own eye test.
It's mostly an ego thing. People think their own tennis level is better than it is, so they are surprised when they see a recording of people who play at a higher level than them and it doesn't correlate with the mental image they have of themselves.
@@jmoney408he’s definitely just trolling joking. I’d be willing to give them very weak 5.0 but this would be disgraceful in d1. Lots of errors, no accuracy, no big weapons, simply duffing of 90mph serves at times… the blue guy almost fell over in an ordinary rally lol.
Red shirt 5.0 Blue shirt 4.5-5.0 I can’t tell any more than that because videos don’t really show spins and speed of the balls . But based on some of the kick serves, red shirts are definitely 5.0 . Blue shirts seems like a good player but no focused much. Mybe out of practice? Thus 4.5-5.0 . Definitely not lower than that . To anyone commenting 4.0 and below, look at yourself before commenting .
Blue shirt needs a lighter racket.. maybe drop 15-25g or looser strings. He keeps hitting his forehand late but his backhand is solid, which makes me suspect it's the racket and not the strings since 2 hands can move a heavy racket better.
It's hard to judge these players because they make so many unforced errors. I would say high 4.5 or low 5.0. I have read all of the comments about where these two should be ranked, but like on person said it's all about your wins. I would be fun to watch 5.0 players from different parts of the country compete to see where the real 5.0 players come from.
The unforced errors were fewer toward the end. Many of them were because of lazy form and footwork. But at this level they can surely fix that if they want to play a serious match.
Too many unforced errors to be called a 5.0 player. There is no consistency. Both guys clearly have the technique and think it comes down to poor shot selection.
Blue shirt has a lot of potential from what I see. He needs to play higher percentage tennis. I saw too many unforced errors which gave too many free points to red shirt. Red shirt isn't bad either but make him earn those points.
Yeah absolutely, my (blue shirt) racquet was a little less maneuverable because i had about 8 grams of lead tape at the 9 and 3 o clock positions. It gave me insane power but i had a tough time maneuvering the racquet in position to hit any topspin
John you need to learn to take some of the ball and add height. Not everything is offense. You can only hit those killer shots consistently stepping into the court, but you try it way to much on a neutral or defensive. The other guy did that much better, and when you, learn to do that, you can be a good 5.0. Also learn to go to the net more, your volleys are great!1
John, from what I can see from your videos lately, a 400g stick is probably holding you back from playing your best tennis. Even the strongest guys on the atp tour aren’t hitting 400g frames. You might have a Thor hammer plow through and rock solid stability but it isn’t giving you spin/margin. Which at the higher levels of tennis is everything.
You’re probably right, have modified by taking off some of the lead tape lately. I have heard Rublev plays with quite a bit of weight on his racquet, i kind of wonder if the real trick is the wrist strength. Would love to figure out how to get the muscles stronger that support the forehand wrist snap that you can see on the Federer slow motion videos
NTRP rankings are unreliable as skills vary by region and population center. Someone who would be rated a 5.0 in one locale could be beaten handily by a 4.5 or even a 4.0 player rated in another area.
Rule: You can't make a comment about their level unless you link a video of yourself in matchplay. You always look worse in a video than in your own head.
Decent strokes but poor shot selection, serves are too predictable, way too many unforced areas. They both need to mix up their game with better shot selection. Blue player has too much racquet swing at net, guessing he never plays doubles. They both have good form on ground strokes and movement.
Hey, you guys have a high self respected rating which is not bad idea, however I tell you the truth that you guys cannot win a match with this level even in 4.0 level.
