First WH3 DLC Lord - AZAZEL, CAPTAIN OF THE ECSTATIC LEGIONS - Total War Warhammer 3
I think Skarsnik is fun. It's easy to feel like you're punching up, because you are lol
Yes, Skarsnik always gives you that true underdog vibe to enjoy. Every victory feels big.
I always enjoyed malekith in mortal empires. Grombrindle won't let me get past the early game in immortal empires
Not gonna lie, i was expecting you to raze Skavenblight to rebuild it to tier 3 with food on turn 1 (not sure where i saw this, but it sounded cool in my head)
Hello, for some reason Vlad has a lot more flying creatures, I just can’t catch him in an ambush or defeat him in any other way. Is it just me that Vlad spawned with a bunch of bat dogs or is this fixed?
My trick in such cases is to get my pistoliers a little closer with fire at will turned off and shoot a couple of units with each unit of pistoliers. That usually causes more than one unit of enemies to pursue each unit of pistoliers. I then turn on fire-at-will and manually guide the enemy toward my firing line, so we can take them out early.
Outriders can fire while moving, but dont have the 360 arc of pistoliers. I absolutely love them and usually put two of the handgun and 2 of the grenadiers in each army. Speaking of which i usually get the "riders of the empire" research as soon as i can because the bordermen are so damn good. Really handy because the AI likes to do that annoying thing of hiding a unit ontop of the gatehouse to try to waste your ammo. If you keep them in pairs they can restock each others ammo. They get benefits from 2 seperate research trees + the gunnery school and with some experience under their belt they can actually kinda fight if they get caught by dogs/bats/light cav
Theres something weird about anytime you fight bats with a single entity in yhe air. I think the splash damage doesnt work properly and you only hit one at a time
I absolutely love Elspy, shes probably my favorite faction. When she gets her dragon, her regen, and her buffs/spells she can throw down with some of the toughest lords in the game. My last campaign i had her 1v1 archeon for lols. She took a bunch of damage but whooped his ass.
This does not work. You will be attacked by Goblins and Beastmen from the Midlands if you leave Reikland alone.
They are incredibly easy to defend against, even on Legendary.
This is my first TW and Warhammer game, so I’ve been struggling to actually manage the battlespace. Great guide, very happy to see not just some strategies I can instantly put to use but also the explanations as to the “how’s and why’s” that other guides skip over that’ll help me start to get away from relying on autoresolve
Great stuff, mate! I'm really glad the video is helping you enjoy the game. :)
Pancreasnowork is excited
I'm trying to appeal to his filthy cravings for a shout out. Cynical Moloch is cynical.
Great guide - stumbled and didn't make the same pace on VH/VH (no AI stats), only managed to eke a valiant defeat against greenskins and had to beat them next turn with nearly destroyed units, and lost helstorms in first fight against Vlad, but Sylvania was still destroyed by Turn 17. Everything afterwards has been incredibly smooth sailing. Thanks for helping me move finally move up to VH/VH after 300 hours of playing.
That's awesome mate! Glad the guide helped you made the breakthrough. Here's to many more such successes for you. :)
ok i liked, commented, and subscribed because i LOVED this guide and thank you SO much do you think you can do one for skarbrand plz
Thanks mate. Great to have you aboard! I can take a look at Skarbrand at some point, but I'll probably wait until after the next DLC, as he is pretty close to a lot of Greenskins and that DLC could potentially change a lot about his early game. Fortunately that should be far off now. Next guide is probably going to be Lokhir Fellheart. :)
@@WarmasterMoloch thanks man you saved many future game starts
Pls more of these 20 turns guide
One is due soon, mate. I've just been very distracted lately, so I'll need to test the ideas for it again, in case CA screwed the pattern up with the newest patch. :)
im so confused by the fact ive followed this completely in turn 1 but I have no archers to recruit and no master engineer to recruit and also dont get a free wizard poppin up
oh goddamn it you need DLC to follow this guide. USELESS!
DLC bullshit in this game can go fuck itself.
it is really pissing me off that the immortal empires map is so different than the ROC map. Also pisses me off that the developers keep changing the way shit works on a single player game.
i like campaign guides. I HATE when the streamer cheeses battles and thinks they cool. Appreciate this vid. No one seems to go north.
The Light wizard has a special item, Amulet of Refraction which gives the wearer a small barrier and an ability which reflects missile attacks within 55 metres back onto those who fired them. Does this mean literally everything in that radius cannot get hit by missiles? What's your experience with that item? That sounds like one of the most OP items in the game (and I love it).
To be honest I didn't even try most of the items. Gelt's campaign was so easy for me that I didn't need them. Next time I play through with him though, I'll take a look at them.
I can never seem to get enough schematics after the first battle to unlock anything in the gunnery school
It's possible they may have tweaked some things since I made this one. I'll take a look at some point.
Thanks for the guide, Ostankya really was a pain in the butt
My pleasure! Kick that old hag's butt. You've got this!
This is magnificent work. I've done HE campaigns on legend but been struggling to understand skaven, after many failed campaign attempts. Going to try this now My list of subscribed channels is small, you're added :)
Thanks mate! Great to have you aboard and I'm glad the video has given you a bit more confidence for playing with the ratboys. Once you're used to them, they're possibly the most fun faction in the game, so I hope you enjoy your campaign!
@@WarmasterMoloch its so much easier its insane. i am cheating with mods. It does prove that HE really is easy mode even on legend, but they get boring fast so I've moved on since doing cathay on legend (similar strength to HE to be honest, they hit critical mass so early).
Appreciate the video but man the way you pronounce mortar is driving me nuts.
This is the best Queek guide I’ve found so far, his campaign always stumps me but I finally took Eight Peaks because of this video!!
Thank you! I'm really glad the guide helped you return Queek to his rightful home, yes-yes!
I think i can beat this with almost turn 50 army but the only thing i couldn't beat was to save Gotrik and fellix ~ they both die like even with all the speed i've by the time get to them they're dead. Did you play that mission ? please suggest how to win that.. i know Gotrik fellix aren't that worthy but I want to win that mission. even on story difficulty they died fast
The problem with that battle is that it's inherently and strongly biased against ranged armies. Basically you have to surround the two of them with melee troops in order to keep Gotrek's self-harm ambitions in check. The simplest way is probably to wait until you have Karl Franz confederated and give him his Reiksguard doomstack. Other than that though you're basically going to need a melee-focused army that mostly worthless for the rest of the campaign. It's really not a well-designed quest battle, sadly.
The Skaven going to climb the ladders isn't a pathing problem. When you give units orders they try to do it straight away and if there's already a unit going through the gates, as there was in that battle, it means the gate is blocked by another unit so they go for the next fastest way. Units always get stuck in gates if you order multiple units to go through at once.
Best guides on youtube
Thanks mate!
Quick tip, (VH/H) I put a barracks in all settlements on turn 9 and the Defenders of the Great Plan gave me 14k gold for Wai Li, 23k for Fu Hung and 1.5k for Tigermen village (they must have run out of money). I went back to the empire with 76k.
Early game, for my second army, I prefer an efficient Prince with an Archmage accompanying. With a full stack of lower tier troops on the efficient guy the savings mean the archmage is basically free upkeep.
What happens when they place all their crossbowmen on the wall?
At Magritta? You can waste the AI's ammo by dodging back and forth in front of them with Ikit. If you don't want to do that, put Ikit on the walls (dodging on your way), engage the archers until they blob around you and then cast your spells on top of the blob.
Nice guide. I loved that blue cheese🎉
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it!
@@WarmasterMoloch ill def try it. For me its the hardest start of all Nurgles. Somehow i get it done but with a lot of losses
Would be cool to see. I think in that mode you're suggesting maybe if you play as a chaos faction you are setup like a mini invasion that is tasked at least in part to cause as much damage as you can before some untold event happens (Archaon's invasion) at which point it'd also be cool to see an option to join the big chaos force or split off and try to claim all the glory for yourself. I think there should definitely be thematic buffs and rewards for each option so that it's narratively incentivised. As a general observation I feel like a lot of the quests and narrative things in the game just aren't that compelling to go after gameplay wise. But overall I love the series and have been playing them for a while.
Just bought to total war games for the first time and decided to play as this character after doing the prologue. I’m in an endless battles between tomb kings on my left and the witch lady on my right and every time I kill one the other one is showing up on my door step with an army that is increasingly more powerful than mine. It feels like the Ai is cyber bullying me
This faction is a tough intro to Immortal Empires, for sure. The big thing with this faction (and most in the game really) is to go heavy on ranged units, mate. Because they do high armour piercing damage and take fewer casualties than melee units, you can fight successive battles much more easily. That then gives you the money to recruit extra military force and start to drive your enemies back.
Also, yes, she's a brute in sieges. I also managed to get complete the entirety of the Pale Scythe quest from purple sun spam attacking Vlad with a full stack garrisoning Drakenhof. Against the greenskins, I'm not sure purple sun is quite as effective. I don't think she's as powerful as Kairos (it's silly that's even a debate) but possibly equal to Teclis (also silly). I imagine Teclis will get buffed when his campaign is fixed and High Elves are given a make over. Power creep arms race forever!
Was also looking forward to this. I used to play Warhammer (FB and RP) back in the nineties and she wasn't in the game. I got back into mini painting a few years back and got hold of the miniature and caught up with the lore about in WFRP 4th ed. Definitely OP, but so is a lot of the new stuff. Malakai is arguably worse. Also, Nuln was my first experience of the Warhammer world - The Oldenhaller Contract for any old timers!
A bit late to this, but some other options are taking the Skaven near Pfieldorf on turn 5 (good for schematics) but may want to scout as it's possible they're wiped out. Military annexation of Averheim after defeating Black Venom is another good option for schematics. I usually take the pistolier upgrade first for the extra speed, which is handy for early game kiting. All the options are pretty good at that stage though!
Elspeth can't recruit bowman anymore snif :(
She can, but you need the Hunter and the Beast DLC.
@@WarmasterMoloch OMG Ok !! its an instant buy thank you for the quick response, and really great starter tuto !
My pleasure, mate. Glad I was able to help! Be sure to look on the key seller sites before you buy direct from Steam, as there are big savings to be had from those!
this is actually great guide for this faction thanks for updating it. also great job using all the tools u had at your disposal like speed building keep it up!
Thanks mate! I'm really glad you liked it. I'm feeling another Malekith campaign coming on soon, so if it needs a second update, I'll be on it. :)
i think training on masters don't stack while in the same army, am i wrong ?
It *should* stack. However, this game can be pretty buggy.
How To Dominate? Hit PLAY. She is too OP.
got some time off work this week and found your guide for my favourite character! guess my weekend is sorted. Thanks for the guide mate, amazing work as always!
Thanks mate! Enjoy your campaign with the golden boy. :)
followed this guide a while back, did great with it and it taught me a lot. Tried an ikit campaign again just now and morghur just decided to raze magritta with a fullstack on turn 2 lmao
I swear that CA watch my videos and then deliberately change things to mess with my strategies. I'll give Ikit a look. Thanks for the heads up!
@protomous What difficulty level are you on, mate? I've just played through on Legendary and it went exactly like the guide. Morghur attacked on T2 (always does), but he lost and then went for the follow-up next turn, because I was stood there pretending to offer support. Reason why I ask about difficulty is that if you're on a lower difficulty than Legendary, it's likely to buff up Morghur a bit against Estalia, because they're a shared enemy.
@@WarmasterMoloch that might be it then, I typically play on Very Hard/Very Hard Kind of a pain that the game would buff your biggest threat in the region when trying to “help” you lmao
@@WarmasterMoloch nope i think they fix it where he does kill the city
@@WarmasterMoloch Lol, for me they didn't even bother attacking. He just ran away from the city after the t2 loss. Very hard difficulty.
Another nice guide 👍
Thank you, mate!
Dominate deez nuts
STOP FLIRTING WITH ME.
Good guide. Used today. Think I'm on turn 15 or so. Thorgrim dead. Zhufbar dead. Slayer King dead. Crazy. Feels way too easy.
Thanks mate! Glad you're finding it so helpful. This approach definitely makes Skarsnik's campaign a lot less daunting.
@@WarmasterMoloch taught me some things for the battfield, too. Really enjoyed it. Look forward to more content.
also id like to see what skills you upgrade to your heroes and lord. also id like to see how you fix your money situation cause at the end you are at a loss of 1k per turn. just so many things i want to know.
The money situation is not really a problem, as I just forced march my armies toward Middenland and begin attacking there. When you're in a deficit, the best way to deal with that is to fight battles. One decent battle-worth of loot will put you well clear of your negative income for that turn. Then I just take more settlements, develop them and the money situation is dealt with. Heroes and lords... that's really a matter of individual taste. If it's a spellcaster I'll normally level their magic first, then get them to lightning strike and any special skills that they may have. Then it's about upgrading ranged infantry and artillery. If it's a non-caster I'll go for the ranged and artillery buffs first.
thank you so much for this guide. however, i'd like to know if you can make a guide after this. what changes do i make to my armies unit wise?
So my armies only change a little over time and mainly it's about artillery, with my adding in a couple of helstorm rocket batteries and, possibly a unit of cannons. I might eventually upgrade the archers to crossbowmen or huntsmen, but usually only as I lose unit. Usually though my armies are pretty identical. Handgunners, archers/crossbowmen/huntsmen, artillery, an engineer, a spellcaster and maybe a captain or witch hunter. Thanks for watching!
It's interesting, i've seen many different approaches to this campaign on legendary and even a really tough campaign like this holds many paths to victory. I myself have played a few through and the easiest and fastest method that worked for me, making killing off krok gar’s faction the number one priority of the campaign, was this: 1. turn 1-20ish don't occupy either ruin, not until much later 2. peace out with Fellheart asap and let him fight it out with everyone else 3. forget about that building that gives you 5 food and just build the buildings to recruit night runners and clan rats with spears and shields 4. cycle sack marks of the old ones for food and exp., until the night runners become available 5. occupy marks and recruit a full stack of them, a decent beginning army to deal with those armies krog gar sends at you, just ambush them, tie their units up with the spears and get round behind their shields with the night runners, really easy army to manage, no need for the extra help of a huge garrison. Occupying a minor settlement at tier three seems to me to be a waste of food and just makes the campaign start more long winded, clearly that has its merits as you are playing in a safe area of the map, so to each their own. 6. move on to axlotl and cycle sack that until you have the 80 food needed to abandon and reoccupy Oyxl at tier 4 7. get the poisoned wind mortars, that'll make finishing off krok gar really easy. also get tier 4 walls there for sieges later on (thank me later) 8. go back home with skrolk and recruit your late game skaven army, and it's all over, the rest will be history, taking Itza should be easy, and if you don't have the DLC just spam plague claw catapults instead.
Love your videos, your guides have set me up for so many easy L/VH wins now. Any chance of a lizardmen campaign soon?
Thanks Dan, glad you're finding the videos helpful! Lizardmen are definitely on my list to do, especially now that it's clear they're not going to get a rework until next year at the earliest, so I don't have to worry about CA undoing all my work right after I release it! Next one though will be Balthasar Gelt.
i have rerolled for over 2 hours and i cant seem to get the bright wizard or fire wizard on the second turn. what am i doing wrong?
You're just getting really unlucky, mate. You can get through the plan with any lore of magic though. I explain the tricks later in the video.
The Empire was one of my most hated factions to play but their recent changes make them much more tolerable now. However, I suck with the Karl Franz so here I am.
Hope you find it helpful, mate! Gelt guide coming soon...
This was quite a different start from my Morathi campaign (which is going poorly, hence why I'm here), as I took out the beastmen at Ironspike around turn 6 and signed a few deals with the skaven. I could focus on the threat to the east and took out Ostankya around turn 18. The dark elves on Ulthuan got rekt so stuck to the continent.
Yeah, I'll need to revisit this one at some point, as there have been several patches since I made it.
