I love the fabric you chose with this pattern! Stretch fabric AND elastic? I would have struggled as well.

I would totally do the two swimsuits you chose. My sister gave me a cover stitch and I’m scared of it, but I do want to make activewear. I’ll be participating in MeMadeMay in my own house, prolly not too much on IG… I think I’ve finally made enough things to wear one item I made three times a week thru the month. We’ll see.

The swimsuit issues like the node and the involuntary wedgie are things to consider when choosing a swimsuit. Totally get it. Think about those things too. I get what you’re saying about memademay, not sure if I’ll participate. If I do it will be three days out of the week.

That Sandhill Sling bag is adorable! I’ve had my eye on that pattern but zippers are not my thang… Yet. I have 2 huge bags of scraps that I pick out of for small things and plan to make a Closet Core Pouf. Scraps need to stay out of landfills!

I feel like popping out the wheel is just for that machine or maybe Janome machines. Singer don’t play that, lol. I’ve seen Z burger in Arlington, but never ate there. I saw that title and cracked up! I don’t hate French seams but I feel like they are so much extra work and thread, and I am *lazy* 😂😂😂 That fabric is sooooooo pretty! My niece has that same machine, but pink.

I got this machine for my granddaughter who is eight for Christmas. She loves it. I’m so excited I found your channel. A couple of tips…when your winding your bobbin pull the flywheel out to disengage the needle. The thread cutter is located at the back of the machine where the needle is located at. Great machine and I loved this video. I will be following your channel.

My daughter got this machine for Christmas. Her grandma paid for it but I researched the machines. Amazing reviews. Our daughter loves it! She's 9 and learning to sew. I would say we feel like we got an excellent, solid, and reliable workhorse machine at a great price. .

Listen, have to separate pattern cutting/tracing from fabric cutting/prepping from garment construction with every project now… I used to do that all in one day stuff but I am in my Slow Sew Era!❤ The most I will do on the same day is wash and press fabric AND cut fabric. Dassit!😂 And you’d better say advanced the way you slayed on that Blanca Flight Suit!❤ I have the Jasika Blazer pattern but I’m soooooo not ready for the work that requires. In the meantime, I’ll thrift a blazer.

Great catch-up and tour of your sewing space. Sounds really great teaching someone else to sew. I added a seam roller and marking pencil to my shopping list. The pencil seems like it will work better on certain fabrics compared to the fabric marker pen. Have a great week.

I am also in the process of rearranging my workspace. I'm a bit disgruntled as it takes away from my sewing time, but I've found some forgotten goodies. Even though we are supposed to be using less plastic, most companies are still using so much of it for shipping. Is collecting notions another hobby? Because I seem to have acquired so many of them. While I long for the days of project focused acquisitions, I love the idea of discovering some tucked away jewels in my Aladdin's cave.😉

I haven’t sewn anything since DC Frocktails myself, but I plan to make a few knit fabric berets for my grandmother. After that, I need trousers.

Wait a minute!! You're local as well?! This was my first Frocktails. My one regret was not walking the runway. I was just enjoying looking at the fabulous creations. I think we could outdo the Met Gala because everyone knows blood, sweat and tears we put into our creations. I haven't even looked at my swag bag. I need to do that asap. The flightsuit is outstanding even as a muslin! I love it. I think your fabric choice was perfect in spite of the challenges. We are own worst critics. You'll have to buy me a drink first to see my flubs on my dress. 😂
