Jesus, Jason Falkner was so cute back in the day.
Can't believe this is like 30 years old. Where have all the time gone?
Now I know where The Lemon Twigs get their sound
I remember the first time I heard Jellyfish, it was 12am in a rest stop. I felt like garbage so I went to the bathroom, and heard this on the crappy overhead speakers. After I left I still felt like trash, but I had a whole album full of great music to listen to. Good times :).
The sort of drive this song has is one of a kind its just a peculiar feeling of life
That percussive when it switches to relative minor is just perfect
I found this on spotify just now and 1.5 minutes in i was like yeah not my taste, wich changed 30 seconds later realizing this is amazing. Im gonna abusevely play this song for the next few days. And yeah i was suprised when i saw the views as all these fans seemingly also are
I have the cassette tape of Bellybutton 🖤💚💜💛💙
This is entertaining AF!
JELLY FISH- one of the Best Bands Of All Time.
Huge Supertramp vibes!
1993 was a personally pivotal year for me. this song accompanied my transition from junior high to senior high; moving from a 5th generation house to a semi-modern rental; moving from a mostly quiet hillside town to a mostly noisy and flat metropolis.
Ringo's drum beat
This would have been a great theme song for a 90s sitcom.
I just heard 15 seconds of this song. And I love it already.
I'll never not love this band. Saw them at the Wiltern and Tower Sunset. And still listen daily
Still one of my favorite bands ever they were so underrated they’re like QUEEN mixed with THE ROLLING STONES with just a touch of ELO and the PARTRIDGE FAMILY ❤😊
"So he shoots up his poison 'til the frosting tastes so sweet(like a Valentine)" - pure Pop poetry, man ❤
A band this good, that i never knew. You are consider lucky if you know this band. I enjoy their music, i love how they sound musically advanced but doesn't feel too complicated.
@malakhyoyo , Glad you could discover how amazing Jellyfish is, years after they've gone their separate ways! 👍
literally me
Got to see them during the Belly button tour at Edwards no8, Birmingham uk. I was stood 10 feet from them, with approximately 100 other fans. Brilliant gig. Criminally underrated.
Awesome song and band
Jellyfish, Kings X, Del Amitri and Jeff Buckley.....so unbelievably underrated!!
Heyyy i love King's X man. It's funny you mentionned it cause i always thought it had a little Jellyfish vibe (more toward hard rock tho, but something similar in term of energy and power pop)
I will always love this band for the weird ginger girl representation, along with Blind Melon.
Haylee Prairie
Go away looser
😢
I’m so much better than you please go away looser 0:58
What do you mean lady
found this in the street of Berlin 3 monts ago but just got to listen to it now while having packed for Barcelona to a gentle discogs buyer. What a world!
This band is amazing
Checkout "The Lickerish Quartet". Jellyfish reborn.
Spilt Milk is a timeless masterpiece, that's why you see famous musicians wearing Spilt Milk t-shirts.
From one of the greatest albums of all-time!
Rock/alternative music in the early '90s was in a state of flux. Hair metal was fading, southern rock found success mainly through the Black Crowes, and Britpop was attempting to break into the U.S. market with limited success (Blur's "Song 2" was meant as a parody). Amidst this emerged Jellyfish, whose Spilt Milk album brought a fresh power-pop sound that hadn’t been heard since the Raspberries. Then, grunge exploded, shaking up the music world with its raw, unpolished style and dominating much of the decade (until pop acts like the Spice Girls took over). In a different reality-one where Nirvana didn't rip off Boston’s “More Than a Feeling”-Jellyfish's "The Ghost at Number One" might have actually hit number one instead of fading into obscurity.
Seen these guys at LOVE Hall in Philly many years back...so ahead of their time...what a powerful band they were.
Whoa! I am 31 plus years too late on this song.
Great song and a great band but horrible lo-res upscaled video. Try and find a better version please.
I love this song
I'm an alternative universe, they become the band that breaks out in 1991 over Nirvana, ushering a new sound of the 1990s
They were a retro group, like the strokes or the hives, just that the wave was going in a completely different direction. And they where not victims, they got deals for 2 whole albums. They didnt do good and the band imploded. I like them, I think they were talented, but a i can understand that next to seattle grunge, this would seam uninteresting.
One of my 3 wishes granted to me by a genie would be to bring Jellyfish back together.
I only heard the live acoustic radio performance from 1993.......... the album version is hardly different.
An amazing band, massively underrated ❤
Must be really interesting inside that guy's head...
I have always LOVED this song 😊
I don't blame the lead singer for quitting music, if I wrote a song this beautiful and it didn't become a hit, I'd quit too
He never quit, he resorted to making music for cartoons, i think moon girl and the dinosaur was his most recent
@@inversional_loop oh damn i didn't know that, that's neat. still, it's an absolute crime that Jellyfish were never fully appreciated when they were going
There wsa this girl woundnt data me. Becouse of a brother that told her i was guy? Neven found out witch on it was. Only for many it could have been Still think about her
2024❤
isn't this a The Supremes song?
Great, great song. Perfect balance between hardness (Sturmer) and softness (Mannings). Too sad, that Yellyfish split up so early. I also like the solo music of Manning. Great in harmonies and melodies. But sometimes a little over the edge.
