To make your mixture of Hydrochloric Acid and Zinc which surrounds the batteries (Saline or Alkaline, it's the same thing), don't wait until the last moment ! The purpose of this mixture is to make a stripper called Zinc Chloride. So you can solder with tin on surfaces that do not stick to the tin without this remover. You have to cut the Zinc into pieces so that the Acid can dissolve it more quickly. You have to wait about 4 to 7 days to get a good stripper, and there should not be a single piece of Zinc left. It must be completely eaten away by the Acid. The result will be a green liquid with a specific smell. There will be a black deposit left in the stripper, so you can filter it, but it is not necessary. Only use glass jars or bottles, never plastic ! Instead, use store-bought Hydrochloric Acid in a 1 liter bottle. No household product that contains it. It doesn't cost much and you will have a purer stripper. The color of Hydrochloric Acid is like water. It turns green when it transforms into Zinc Chloride, when it has eaten away all the pieces of Zinc. To repair your weld, rub the surface to be welded well with the stripper. Use a cotton swab, it's fine. You can use an electronic soldering iron, otherwise it is best to solder using a blowtorch. Using a glow plug with a battery is not obligatory, it's just to show in the video that it's possible to do it like that if you had nothing else. But the best is to take some tin wire and do some soldering. Personally, I only use wire with 40% lead and 60% tin, the solders are more beautiful, shiny and above all more solid. But in the European Union, all products that contain lead are normally banned or reserved for professionals. Fortunately, Amazon or AliExpress still sell good wire with lead, there is nothing better, even for soldering electronics. Pure tin with flux inside is a little more complicated to solder, it requires a hotter soldering iron (therefore less good for fragile components) and the solder cracks over time. Which causes electronic failures or breakage of your repair. We recognize this thread with the inscription "40/60", there are also threads in "37/63". These are the lead/tin percentages. What an awful racket why do you imagine that people need music for everything? If I'd wanted music I would choose a music channel and get something better than that g** awful noise. You didn't weld with a batter, you used the charcoal core as a conductor. You could have used the centre of a charcoal (carbon) sketching pencil, which would have give you a much longer piece to work with. Alternatively, you could have saved time and money by buying a miniature welding kit.

that's brazing not welding. welding is using heat penetrate the material and fuse it. brazing is sort of using hot material to glue it together sort of like soldering.

Simple and effective

Stupid mechanic, uses hammer as anvil/vice. Then uses piece of wood as hammer. To repair plastic with pieces of metal, bend pieces in S shape so when force is applied it doesnt rip apart as easy. Stopped watching after 10-15min.
