I'd say this is only worth it if you get it for 50€ or less. Mostly for the simple Linux OS and form factor. If you have an ok android, you can emulate psp games just like this thing. Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S can do that perfectly fine with Play Store emulators, maybe a nice controller. Even flip phones can run emulators If you want high performance games (PS3 level or higher), save up for the portable PCs (Steam Deck 1/potential Steam Deck 2, Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion, anything from Anbernic or AyaNeo whatever they're called 😓) or the handheld consoles (about to be revealed Switch 2, currently developed Playstation Handheld) I'm assuming people wanting the most bang for their buck are the ones watching and might consider what they already have (phone, tablet) or what they'd rather save up for. Would be a very nice gift or little splurge tho

Nobody bought this handheld and it is way more than $55.

Looking at it, it seems like the left analog would feel better where the d-pad is to give the hand a better resting position. Opinions?

I just wish it played n64 games a bit better. Some of them work ok, but a lot of them have weird graphical glitches and slowdowns

Considering every other high end handheld has the dpad on the bottom I am glad retroid put it on top. It's the reason why I chose this handheld over waiting. A lower dpad feels way less comfortable than having the stick down there. I think a better solution would be to offset like the PlayStation.

Dpad goes up top on all retroid devices because retro is in the name. It’s their business model.

D-pad below the stick they had that on the retroid pocket 2 was a pain on the thumb

Another down part is that it's really noisy. The fan and the buttons. The fan is like a plane. Besides that I love it. Specially 3ds with improved resolution, enjoying that a lot.

Gen 5 down - stick bottom. Gen 6 up - stick top. This should be the universal rule.

Part of the reason I got this is dpad up top because my Odin 2 is already stick up top and the dpad on that is crampy. I’m sure custom grips will be able to make this a bit more comfy, though.

The design was made for playing games ps1 and below.

3:32 this was the main complaint about rp4, but this is literally on %80+ handheld devices, including switch, switch lite and oled, but no one complained until rp4? It always shook me 🤷‍♂️

6 mini should keep that stick setup and the larger 6 flips the sticks would be perfect.

The RG556 right stick is in a better place too. The Pocket 5 right stick gets in the way of the buttons.

Stick on the bottom works fine, the problem is that they have it directly below the D-pad. They need to move it inboard, making V shape controls. Then you are not cramped using the lower controls. 🍻

I must be the only freak who doesn’t care about stick placement or controller preference. I just pick up anything and use it fine. I’m the same with guns and rifles though. Idk what it’s like to not be able to pick something up and just use it. All seems just natural for me. Not judging I just struggle to understand the actual struggle I guess for people interfacing with different things where as I just never have complaints haha

Handhelds with 8:7 screens like the RGB30 is worth it at the new lower price for sure. Colors on the display has really good saturated colors making me go back and forth between this and my RG35XXH. I use ArkOS on my RGB30.

Skip the last one and get the GB300. It looks the same, but has alot more games and is way better for the same price.

Will never understand people wasting money on these when the phone/tablet they bring with them everywhere is the best handheld emulator they can get. Both Android and iPhone can do everything these handhelds can and more

GOD I HATE THAT LIKE HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET THE BIOS IF MY STUPID VERSION IS DIFFERENT like if i want to change micro sd cards or whatever to something bigger i have to find bios or somthing and install it idk how atm i got a new r36s and idk the version but my old one didnt work right out the box i could hear gameplay but not see idk i got a new one and it works
