It depends. Many malls with sales above $500 per square foot are strong and getting stronger. Malls with sales of $300 per square foot and below are sometimes challenging on the interiors.

Hey Mike, Jeff here. The guy that gave you your first million dollar month. Out of sandy,Utah. The guy the blended it! You and jack fry asked how and asked what I want. I said money. You fired me!?!?!? I’ll name pointless employees at vortex in sandy,Utah. #1shawn yoshita. #2patrick Christensen #scott Peterson. Worthless company to work for in Utah. Unless you are involved in or open to Mormonism. Me myself had to work by myself on Christmas Eve because these said higher ups had families. Like I didn’t. Or I’d be fired. Ultimately I quit because they “Johnathan”gave me an ultimatum to take a drug test. Which I don’t do drugs. I drink sure. But it was an ambush. Fuck this company. It’s based on nepotism and money. Scott Peterson is the only reason this company is alive. But still it’s nepotism and ridiculous

On greenmailing: My understanding is the tax laws were changed in the late 80s. So it would be something like a huge excise tax for greenmail. also corporate governance rules likely since changed to prevent one (temporary) shareholder given preferential treatment over the others.

Just wanted to thank you Chris and a huge thanks to Barry...such a great interview. Invaluable perspective and so many great lessons. My father Leo Heile was SVP of ITT and a brilliant guy (physics major/quant) running $25B for ITT (heard some funny Rand stories)...and before he passed in '02 I asked him if there was any advice he wanted to pass on to the grandkids and he thought for a few minutes (long time for him) and replied 'Yes...always challenge your assumptions, because you're usually wrong. And if you get enough smart people in a room and you all think that way you'll probably arrive at the best solution". Same wisdom Barry is sharing from a lifetime of hits and misses. Such a great perspective, and kudos to him for sharing it so openly and honestly. I hope he writes that book...and ends up in a position to influence public policy at some point. His take on American politics is spot on and his ability to distill the basics of fiscal policy down to a almost a kindergarten level (which is necessary today) is a true gift. Stacking a cabinet with a critical mass of experienced and successful businesses people from various mission critical sectors of the private sector (not just Wall Street) is the only hope we have for righting the ship. That and solving the problem of the corrupting influence of money in politics...haha. Hope to God we eventually get to vote for an independent candidate willing to do both, and Barry is a part of that team.

Hey Chris, I just wanted to comment on how well of a interviewer you are. I was just impressed at how matter of fact & well you transitioned each section with well asked questions or topics. Interviewers can be very vague or boundary-less with their questions and it lead to the interviewees sometimes not always answering the question in a particular thought realm. Thank you so much for phrasing good questions, so I could learn more about Jamie’s ideas!
