None of them were truly fit to lead the company. Still, one could argue that Kendall had the most experience. Yet, even so, they weren’t the right choice. The most logical and reasonable outcome was to sell the company and honor Logan’s final move-closing the deal with GoJo. That said, Shiv’s betrayal stands out as the most despicable. The only reason she shared that emotional night with her brothers, agreeing to name Kendall and creating a fleeting moment of genuine sibling unity, was out of self-interest. She had no other choice. The second she realized Tom would be CEO, she didn’t hesitate to betray Kendall at the most critical moment. Was it the right decision for the company? Probably. But it’s hard to ignore the ruthless opportunism. In the end, the show finished exactly as it began: with lies, betrayals, and terrible people doing terrible things to one another. Poetic, tragic, and utterly fitting.

All of these kids were self serving. I don't think what Shiv did was anything more than that; she couldn't stand for Kendall to be the one.

People love to only corner logan but he saw throughout first three seasons how his children were all fucking spoilt. And unless they knew what real world was like they couldn't fucking take over the company. Kendall killing someone and then immediately running away instead of taking up responsibility for it, taking his job unseriously when logan was sick, drug addictions etc. Roman humiliating a random child for no fucking reason, buying a random football team he didn't support, managing a rocket launch and not taking account for when it blew apart, sending dick pics to his colleague etc. Shiv throwing her own husband under the bus when she needed power, showing her cards at the dinner that she was gonna be CEO just to brag, switching between parties etc. And then ultimately they all tried to snatch logan's company that HE built from scratch, by using the little power they were given by their mommy. No wonder logan didn't want to give them the company. And quite frankly neither of them would have been able to run the company. Kendall could only do things that felt right on paper but to keep such a huge company alive you need to have courage and innovation. Roman was never seeious, he was always just looking for validation (as you can tell from his arousal from insults) shiv was always unsure of her capacity to a point that she couldn't commit to anything. So instead just selling the company to someone who CAN carry on logan's legacy while giving the kids billions of dollars was the right thing to do as a father anyway.

Shiv has a point: Kendall killed a guy, but Kendall is not a killer. He doesn't have what it takes to carry that baggage in the public eye forever. He can play it as cool as he likes but the fact remains that Kendall is ruled by his own shame, and fear, and the desperate desire to be loved. He can't be CEO, he would not be good at it, a human shitsponge like Tom would.

I’m not sure I’ll find the answer in RUclips comments, but I’m curious: with the sale having gone through, who pays Gerri out for this lawsuit and/or settlement? The company? If so, that can serve as a somewhat satisfying fuck you to Mattson from Roman. Is Roman held personally responsible? It can’t be a personal lawsuit, I imagine, because company conduct and liability fall into a different ball park. I think the kids end up with half in cash, half in shares, but I could be misremembering. So Roman’s still a major shareholder but not an employee? I work in tech, design team lead, but have no idea how higher company legality works. Just wondering how this all plays out.

If the purpose of this episode was to reflect and somehow remind Americans of the past & reflect, then it did its job. However, if there was that hope & intention by the creators & executive producers that it will somehow influence the results of U.S. 2024 elections in favor of the Blue state (because it aired last year), then it failed big time, because this episode will then come across as propagandic in nature. Great show & 4 seasons, though reflecting the life of the elites. Enjoyed it. Peace out!

This WHOLE scene had me sooooo confused with so many emotions that I didn’t know how to process. Shiv did this fit herself, they’re all selfish, but knowing Tom was going to be her dad, which is what she is attracted to, is absolutely why she did what she did. They have that great, bonded, beautiful night where they come together & then this. For Logan’s sake I wanted them to win, but Kendall is a huge joke looking at it. Roman could’ve done it under a great mentor & Shiv beside him. When you binge the show from premier to finale, my whole mind on Tom changed & like went from kind of hating what he did to actually happy he got it. But, like every great story, happy endings are fairy takes & I believe now this ending was perfect. I just hate the smug oldies like Karl & Gerri.

Probably the moment Matsson started to seriously consider Tom as CEO. Someone that could be the complete opposite of this opinionated, stubborn, wont even pretend for a 3 minute conversation person, someone obviously full of her own ideas. And Tom took the blame for calling it for Mencken!
