Piano Progress, 900hrs, Vivace - Muzio Clementi
I've been playing piano for a little over 2 years. I'm recording myself every 6 months or so to monitor my progress.
I started having lessons about 9 months ago and my teacher has recommended some grade 3 pieces for me to play. This is the third piece I've tried from the 23/24 ABRSM Grade 3 book. It's not perfect but I must be getting closer to Grade 3.

I've been playing piano for a little over 2 years. I'm recording myself every 6 months or so to monitor my progress. I learnt this piece in the last few weeks. The original bass line had some large jumps in it, so I've modified it a bit to suit my standard. Hi. I have been spending some time on this. A couple of questions. Having some thicknerss at the trailing edge is good, but beacuse the tip is scaled, we end up with very l;ittle thickness. Ideally I'd have approx 2mm thickness alomng the entire trailing edge. Any ideas on this. While Im waiting fro a reply Ill see if I can get a spline into the Leading edge to give curved LE.

    • @ITriedThis
      @ITriedThis Месяц назад

      @markfisher8943 You could do this by making 2 different sections, a root section and a tip section. If you know the chord length of those 2 sections, you can make sections that have 2mm trailing edge thickness once scaled to the correct chord. One way to do this is just to locally thicken the trailing edge part of the section. This is possibly simpler but distorts the section. The more "correct" way is to stretch the section (scale in the x direction) and cut off the excess at the trailing edge. You need to work out the scale needed to give you 2mm at the trailing edge for each section. This method maintains the section profile and is generally preferred. Hope this makes sense. I've done this before, so let me know if you need help with this.

      @@ITriedThis HI, Thanks so much. I'll need some help I think. I was traing to constrain the TE thickness in the Root wire model, thenscaling the tip, but just cannot make that happen. I am using ONDSEL, hopefully because the learning curve wont be so steep. I was hoping to create a wire for ribs say 100mm apart the full length of the wing extension (1400mm),. The TE edge is straight so I hoped to pickup the node of each rib to create a spline in the planform model. Lots to learn. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Where are you located?

      @@markfisher8943 Not sure why it is not working, but below are a few things you can try. I just rechecked my macro again on Windows and the behaviour has changed, even though I haven't changed my FreeCAD installation!! I originally wrote this on Linux. 1. Check for error messages in the report window. If you have any, post them here. 2. Assuming no errors: Start with an empty model. Run the macro and check if you have a new item in the model window called 'BSpline' or similar. If so, the airfoil section has been created. If pressing the 'Fit All' button does not show the section, add the following to the end of the macro and repeat. FreeCAD.ActiveDocument.recompute() I have to do this on my Windows installation now to get the section to show. Never had to do it before? 3. If you don't get an object called BSpline or similar, you will need to do some debugging. You can add some commands to try to find out what's going on. For example, add the following just after the line that starts 'points.append' print(points) Make sure it starts in the first column (no leading spaces) because python has stupid indentation syntax instead of proper markers for code loops. The printout should appear in the report view. Try some print statements in different places to try to trace what is happening. Let me know what you find and I'll try to help.

This only appears when I use the alignment function to move the subtitle ie it adds the short piece of code to the subitle line. Once the code is removed then the error message disappears. Bloody brilliant video, ego left out, technology left out and the action allowed to speak for itself! Well bloody done! I troll the internet for fishing videos to watch and 99% that I find I never watch, the presenters don’t realise the manner in which they telegraph to the prospective viewer what it is that prevents the viewer proceeding to watch. Oh and no soundtrack other than the natural one. For me to relate to a video it has to relate to my experience of fishing and this one ticks it in spades, few fish, small fish and in this instance a little familiarity with the region. Well Done.

      Thank you so much! This is the best comment I've ever had! I've fished a few places around the world and when I'm in a new place it is sometimes difficult to find information about places to fish, access, etc. I decided to make these videos mainly to show people what the river and the fishing is like in a particular location - the sort of thing I would find useful when looking for somewhere to fish. I don't seem to catch the big fish very often, so I just show what I catch. I do add some music sometimes, but that's so subjective. I often skip videos just because the music is annoying or just not to my taste, so it's a risk to add a lot of music to the video. I'm slow at producing the videos, so I have a bit of a backlog. I'm working on a final video from my trip to France last year and then I have another NZ trip to work on. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment.

      @@ITriedThis I skip an enormous number of videos just by seeing that they have someone who has created themselves an identity that is displayed at the beginning as i find that they are ego driven and the content that start with someone travelling and talking to themselves, effectively, I skip. My reason is I watch to get the fishing experiences of my past and as I have never gone fishing, looking into a mirror, talking to myself, all my thoughts out loud, nor been able to hover along above myself, nor hover over myself fishing, stuck my head under the water to view a struggling fish, nor made sure my face was close enough to the fish being released that I to was splashed and never ever had a soundtrack playing while I fished. I f it doesn’t relate to my experience of fishing I am unable to connect and so I don’t bother. Don’t take to heart too much of what I have said but do keep making your videos. Very well done.

      @jamescrydeman540 I second you to your comments mate. So many fishing videos you see on RUclips are ego driven. Particularly as you mention they talk to themselves and commentate as they are casting at a fish as if they own a water. There's more talking than the actual fishing some times and then there's the music.. Well.. The other thing I can't stand either in a lot of fishing channels they speak about how many fish they've caught at the end of that day on the river to confirm to themselves and have the audience hear out loud how well they have done and what they expect to catch on the river at the start of there day. That's all about your ego. Basically living in a world of arogance. I think some people are too big for there boots. It's just the way people portray themselves on camera some times as if they are automatically going to or expect to catch that fish. After all its called fishing, not catching and most humble fisherman don't speak out loud what they should expect and then talk about how surprised they are if things don't go there way.

    Lately the CC on youtube totally sucks, no matter what font or colors I set it's almost unreadable, the best I can get is VERY LIGHT grey instead of actual black on a white background but the grey is so faded it's practically unreadable. If I reverse the colors to white text on a black background, that too is practically unreadable. None of the other color combinations work together, searching for a WHY/WHAT youtube changed, and a workaround to get true black text on a white BG or vice versa. The other search results showing things like; "Why are RUclips captions grey? You have to change the font opacity setting. Its under the gear on the bottom of the video. Then click Subtitles, then options, then scroll to the bottom, and you'll see it right above Reset. Change it to 100% and you should be good." Yeah, "should be" but aint! no matter what opacity or color or font I choose it never becomes solde black font, it's washed out grey at best Another result was; "Recently, the subtitles in RUclips were changed to a very low-contrast, illegible white on grey colors: This doesn't happen in Firefox or in a new "Private mode" Chrome. What's causing this, and how can I get high-contrast subtitles in RUclips back? I tried disabling all my Chrome extensions, but this did not help." Yeah it does, I only use Firefox and it's illegible white on grey.

    Hey! Great video. I'm in the Taranaki area right now and I just returned from a three hour fishing session on some small streams, all great looking and very fishable...but just like you, I haven't seen any single fish, no sign of them.

    • @ITriedThis
      @ITriedThis 6 месяцев назад

      Yes, I'm not sure what the problem is. I read somewhere that maybe there are some emissions from the volcano that kill the fish. If these happen frequently enough, the fish can't recover before the next event. The only river where I found fish in that region was the Patea River, but there may be others. Perhaps try further from the volcano.

    Interesting vid as I’m thinking of joining R & G, in your opinion what would be the optimum rod - 7 1/2 ft 3 weight or an 8ft 4 weight.Cheers

    • @ITriedThis
      @ITriedThis 6 месяцев назад

      @robsmith8024, for that stretch of river, I'd probably go for the shorter rod. There are lots of sections with overhanging trees where you need to stand in the river and cast under trees on both sides. The shorter rod would be an advantage. My 8 ft 6 inch rod is a bit long. You'll have fun with a 3 weight! I have another Alyn River video coming soon. Thanks for watching!

      Hi @ruddynely6965 You need to have access to upload the subtitles to RUclips, so if I understand your question correctly, you won't be able to do that for other people's videos. If you can download the video, you'll be able to make the subtitles, but you need access to upload them.

    Well, it’s interesting to me because back when I was a freshman in High School (84-85 school year), took a class where we built a Radio Shack TRS Color Computer (and that was a first time for me as well). We’ve come a long way since then. Every so often there will be a movie where Iron Man is recruiting Spider-Man who has my old MacIntosh calling it, “retro tech”, and all of a sudden make me want my old computer back. Shameful the way the media does this to us sometimes. But I really enjoyed watching yours. 😇

    That’s fantastic! I could almost kick myself for not bringing a fly rod with me on that sojourn to Taiwan because I kept noticing places on various hikes I could cast my line. In fact, in roughly 1918 when Japan still controlled Taiwan, a Japanese fisherman discovered in their mountains a stream which holds native rainbow trout. Quite a feat for a tropical island if you ask me. I also desire to make it to England, Scotland, and New Zealand among other places to fish their waters. I hope you keep putting these videos out as I’m sure you have a loyal following. 😇

      I was disappointed when I lost this fish. It was the first big fish I'd hooked in Hokkaido. I went on to lose several more big Hokkaido trout on that trip! I built that rod from a kit. I replaced the standard butt with the fighting butt.

      @@ITriedThis That is impressive to me! All my years of fly fishing (and I started in college back in 1991), I’ve never built my own rod. I made the mistake of purchasing a fiberglass three piece rod once for easier transportation, only to learn that it was so heavy compared to graphite, it completely wore my arm out. Long story short, I went back to graphite almost immediately (with far better results to show for it). Do keep putting these videos out as it makes your viewers feel like they are right there on the water with you. There’s an elderly gentleman named Graeme Pullen who has written and few books which I own now, but during Covid I was binge watching his RUclips videos which he calls THE TOTALLY AWSOME FISHING SHOW, and now has me believing I simply have to make it over there. Also, there’s this Scot on RUclips who calls himself, “Wildfisher” who’s fun to watch as well if you get a chance. Tight lines. 😇

    WOW! I’m impressed! You keep fly fishing in places I desire to go and try my luck 🍀. The fly reel you see in my avitar ironically was purchased from a gentleman in Hokkaido, Japan. Are you from Japan, or one of the other locations where you have fly fished? I am an avid viewer of NHK World TV, and even changed planes at Narita Tokyo Airport on my way to teaching English in Taiwan where I taught for over three years, but always wanted to make it back to Japan to seriously see the country. I really LOVE your RUclips videos. 😇

      @m.h.english4473 Thanks for watching and your kind comments. I was working in Japan for a while, but now I'm based in the UK. I enjoyed Japan and the Japanese culture. Most places I tried on the main island were over-fished, but Hokkaido is a different story! It's one of my favourite places to fish and I've only just scratched the surface of what's there. I must make another trip soon.

      Hi topperqfishing. There are lots of options! I assume you will have a car. If you want to stay near Auckland, check the Fish and Game information for Auckland Waikato region. I've put some links in the description of this video. Another option would be to drive to Taupo and fish the lake or some of the rivers I've shown in my videos. It's a 3hr drive from Auckland so you would need to stay for a few days to make it worthwhile. Note that you need a specific licence for the Taupo region. You get it from Department of Conservation. For other areas you get your licence from Fish and Game. I've put links in the description of this video. Take some video and upload to your channel - I would like to see it!
