i love forever yarn... the owner is so cute and sweet... i actually am begging my bf to take me back there today bc i need more of the beautiful chunky yarn i got there! 😂❤ i'm making a balaclava 💕
Oh Margaret, thank you. I’m up early this morning and before picking up my knitting needles I need something soothing. I play a classical style guitar and I’ve been listening to flamenco. Your performance and explanation filled me with joy.
Thank you for a beautiful performance and discussion about musical "tone." You've given me a new way to think about music. I enjoyed hearing about your experience at CAKEpalooza and seeing your new acquisitions. I'm also excited about your Chopin Cardigan! Thanks, Margaret.
Lol.. Love the shrug on you...
Thank you Margaret - my favorites are the shrug you just made and of course, you at the piano!
Love your piano playing. And you really scored with those 2 vintage bags- so spot on!
Beautiful..love the piano playing too....😊
Oh you’re just so lovely!!! Loved hearing about all your inspiration! Lovely podcast Margaret! And as much as Natalie, Krystal & Charlene inspired You~ you inspire US!!! Love to You & a Hug!!! P.S. I will keep you posted on Rhapsody 🫶🧶☺️
The Chopin so welcomed this morning. My heart felt such a soothing in all this turmoil. Thank you. And the shrug so lovely on you ❤
Great to see you! A word to the wise about the Turtlepurl sock yarn… the black bleeds. So put a color catcher in your sink to block or clean your socks! 🧦 🩷😘🩷😘😘😘😘
Hermione every day Sock is the funniest sock pattern. You’ll love it. It’s a broken rib.
I started to knit socks and researched and chiagoo magic loop- ( Summerlee tutorial); on magic loop, and the book, getting started knitting socks by Anne Budd, all stitch counts for socks from fingering to worsted any maybe beyond, I have just made fingering and Dk. The “ reciepe” is cuff down, heel flap and gusset😊
I have missed your music. Thank you--- especially this week. XO
What a color palette!!! Love it❤ I am having two vest and a pair of socks on my needles. I am planning to knit a holiday vest for myself next.
Hi! I just love your podcast, yarns and finished objects!I am currently knitting the Felix Cardigan with yarn bee rustic romantic in a pumpkin color . Thanks for sharing 😊 🍁
Could not go to Rhinebeck so decided to cast on the Field Sweater to quell my FOMO
Hello! I’m new to your podcast and your yarn colors are beautiful! Have a new grandchild on the way so my fall knitting is a child’s cardigan and blanket. I’ve also half way finished a colorwork yoke sweater for myself will also make some hats and socks for gifts. Love all the browns this season! Some year I hope to get to Reinbeck
Beautiful yarn!!! I’m working on 2 sweaters now, Flores and Stromboli. Just finished my Garden Cardigan .
I am plugging away at the Secret Garden sweater by Elena Mortensen. Hoping it’s done by Thanksgiving!
I love knitting with 100% wool, held singly or with mohair. I’m planning on a colorwork sweater that I have been thinking about for months. The Fjeltur Lite. Strangely enough I only like the main color in cream and the center contrast darker than the other contrast color.
Lol- my 5 year old grandson asked for a sweater but I am also knitting a mohair wool silk (3 yearns combined) s turtleneck sweater for me
Excited to be coming to CAKE for the first time! I’m a new knitter & im loving knitting Cowls!! Someday I hope to try a sweater! See you at CAKE!
Dearest.such a beauty the yarn wall. I love knitting with thin elegant yarns plus mohair. Its so famminine And soft. For me cardigans and shawls are the way to live.❤
Glorious colorways! I made a sweater 30 years ago with a pattern in Vogue Knitting. After many moves I no longer have a clue what happened to it or the magazine. So on my needles this Fall is a re-creation of that sweater. I've attempted this before to no avail. I have the yarn & a similar pattern but not "The" pattern. I am currently skimming through Vogue Knitting magazines on Ravelry. It's so fun remembering all the fabulous knits I pondered over through the years. That connection thing you know. Memories😊
Beautiful colors in your newest yarn collection, I am presently knitting Slade for one son, and have yarn to knit Halibut for another son. Yes, crazy but I am knitting the Slade while walking as it is done in pieces. Halibut will be a sitting down project .Hope to get to say hello to you at Rhinebeck.
Love your new colorway! For fall I am knitting a basic cardigan however I’m using Farm Yarn I purchased on the Maine Yarn Cruise this summer while on vacation with my husband It is beautiful and so soft .
Love love this episode! I'm excited to knit the interview vest and the metropolitan pullover. A couple cashmere cowls and I can't wait for the Chopin cardigan! stunning beautiful collection❤❤❤❤
Not much changes for me with my knitting. I will knit any type of yarn any time of the year. Right now I am finishing up the Tinde Ladies Sweater from Sandnes Garn. Hoping to wear this beauty on an upcoming trip to Iceland! I love your fall color palate and can not wait to see it in person. Thinking about knitting up another Soldotna with your new colors. Too many good ones to chose from. Kim
Great video as usual. I hope I will knit more during fall and winter, planning for some vest and also a sweater in some fall colors. I would say that I prefer DK and worsted and also love making hats. I am also not much of a shawl person, although I am thinking to try cause there are some many beautiful ones out there. Have fun at Cake and Reinbeck.
After a Summer of swimming, sunning and reading I finally got my knitting mojo back. I’m knitting a Ranunculus in LaBien Aimee Corrie Worsted in a sea glass blue. It was a luxurious Christmas gift from my sweet Mother in Law. As always I loved your video. You always inspire and I really enjoy how you connect knitting to the arts. Gorgeous new collection!
What beautiful colors!😍 I’m working on several projects for the fall. The first was scarves that I’ve completed. And now it’s vest’s assembled with five hexagons . That multi-colored yarn would be beautiful in a vest! Once the vest’s are complete, I’ll a make bucket hat, baseball cap and several bobble holiday stockings. Thank you for sharing with us❣️❣️❣️
Fabulous as always. I LOVE your style and can't wait for your brushed mohair pattern! I'm currently knitting a half-brioche rib sweater (Rockport- Woolfolk "Far' yarn). I decided to participate as a way to knit something different. But I want to make your mohair sweater and hope you have kits!!!!
In the fall I look forward to knitting with wooly/rustic yarns again after the hot summer. I recently cast on the Folk Fest Vest by Ainur Berkimbayeva using Plötulopi - rustic and lovely! All the best to you in Rhinebeck! Your new collection is beautiful and I love the naming and story behind it. I can totally see the inspiration. Wish I could be there!
Hi Margaret - thanks for another great episode (both of them)! What a lovely tribute to your parents - the source of your creative spirit and ingenuity, it sounds like. I always appreciate it when you include a little recital for us - heaven! A tip about jogless joins: check out PattyMac’s tutorial on RUclips. She knits the first row of the new color as required by the pattern (no lifted stitch). On the second row, she lifts the leg of the stitch, but then knits the two stitches together. I used this technique on my Sunday Shrug last year and it seemed to work. As for what’s on my needles, I’m knitting the Cumulus Blouse by Petite Knit in sumptuous Boboleros yarn. I’m holding one strand of an alpaca/silk blend with one strain of mohair and it is soft and squishy beyond my wildest dreams! The beautiful drape and body that the yarn creates is perfect for this project. I knit at Small World Coffee in Princeton and so many of the students have exclaimed over the color - a beautiful apple-green shade. I hope to have it finished in time for Cake! ❤
I agree- fuzzy and lightweight knits have all my attention right now!
Are you aware that bees buzz at 528Hz
what i do not like of the Shrug is the fitting on the neck. I did some beautiful fiber and colors..... but i frog them for the part on the neck. I can't go over it...
@@vale251 do you do a special neckline? I know she has some modifications that include decreases along the neckline so it doesn’t fall..
You’re amazing too and so talented. Love this RUclips community.
Hello and happy fall. I have the Book Club Cardigan by Sari Nordlund on the needles. Always wonderful to watch another fun and interesting podcast,
Hello there and thank you for watching!! Oh I am such a Sari Nordlund fan...and omg the Book Club Cardigan is one of my favorites! Those cables--such a classic sweater. What kind of yarn are you using and color? Much love!
Good morning, meant to say I love your Chopin segment! I’m using the Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted Weight in the colorway Hollyberry. I’m also showing my progress on my The Island Lamb podcast. Happy September and happy fall 🧶
@@theislandlamb oh thank you so much for saying those words about the Chopin. I really appreciate it. I’m so thrilled to learn that you have a podcast and that you’re sharing the progress. I will watch right away. You are amazing.💕💕💕
I’m working in the Secret Garden sweater by Elena Mortensen. Taking me forever, as I bit off a bit more colorwork than I’ve ever done. But I love it.
Hi gorgeous Felicia! Holy cow...I just looked up the Secret Garden sweater...It is exquisite. Wow!! One of the most intricate designs I've seen. Bravo...you're my hero! What colors are you using?
Next year, get your hands on some apricots! 😮
@@melissalampman7214 I know!!! I totally missed the boat on that!!! 💕💕💕
Wonderful to hear about all of your creative endeavors. Your marigold cardigan is so pretty! I also love your story about the brilliant actress Hedy Lamarr. There is an excellent documentary about her called "Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story" (PBS 2017). ❤
HI Andrea! Thank you for watching and for the tip about the Hedy Lamarr documentary. I will have to check it out. I am so amazed by her story and brilliance. So grateful for your comment. Hugs!

Margaret Love your style and content . That green colorway is fantastic. I’ve made several shrugs on your one you highlighted did you hold your fingering weight double? And are those colors available on your website? Thanks!
@@lynnkoscher8759 hi Lynn. Thanks so much for your kind words. I did hold the yarn double as the pattern indicated. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
