A surprise visit from a beautiful Kestrel to our new Tawny Box.

Our poor Barn Owl has had a lot to deal with. First he lost his mate whilst they were raising the 2024 chicks. Then a bonded pair of Tawny Owls scoping out his nestbox.. and now a squirrel standoff!

Our 2024 Owlets continue to explorer. This time giving us some lovely close up views and comical moments. It won't be long before they leave for the last time. We're hoping to switch the perch camera to one with Auto Focus to help with these close up shorts, but our camera manufacturer currently doesn't offer an Auto Focus camera that also has sound. Hopefully a future project!

Our 2024 Barn Owl chicks fledge the nest. They're overcome some devastating setbacks when their mother was lost a few weeks previously leading to us loosing the youngest two chicks. The father has been a super star and kept up with prey deliveries giving the remaining three a real fighting chance.
