Susquehanna in the Mohawk Valley, Heritage on the Main: Rail Action in Utica, NY
Просмотров 455День назад
In this video, I spend an afternoon railfanning at the "Railfan parking lot" in Utica (highlights only). After my trip to Chicago and back, I catch up with New York, Susquehanna & Western's Utica local UT-1, and chase it south into Sangerfield before heading back to Utica, catching them at locally-famous Schuyler Street. CN and CPKC Rarities, Canada's First Railway, and TONS of Action in Southern Quebec!
Просмотров 7088 дней назад
In this action-packed video from March 2024, I catch a little bit of everything in southern Quebec. Starting with KCS 4859 "Safety Starts Here" on CPKC 228 in West Chazy, the action continues with CN 324, Amtrak 68, CP G24, and CN 522 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC. After catching up with G24 at the former CMQ yard in Farnham, I head to St-Lambert to catch the afternoon rush with @railfancharl...

Western Maryland SD40-2 on the River Line! Morning Action with Flared MAC and More
Просмотров 44915 дней назад
I seemingly can't get through the Hudson Valley without some railfanning on the River Line... On a nice February morning, we stop in Catskill for I157 meeting M403 with an SD70MAC(e) trailing before catching up with Kingston local L040 with a rare ex-WM SD40-2. M409 completes the morning before we head for home. Catskill, NY Athens, NY Thanks for watching! If you haven't already, please subscri...

How Railroads Transport RAIL! Dropping Rail on the CPKC D&H
Просмотров 40 тыс.20 дней назад
Ever wonder how the rails that trains travel on get there? In this video, I'm following the Canadian Pacific rail train up the D&H before catching them dropping rail in Plattsburgh. It's a really neat process, not often seen up close. A huge thank you and shout out to the CP D&H MOW crew for allowing me to film from a safe distance! Port Douglas, NY Peru, NY Plattsburgh, NY Thanks for watching!...

SPEEDER RIDE Through the Adirondacks!
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.29 дней назад
Special Thanks to Jon Saulsgiver for graciously inviting me along on this trip! I'm in Old Forge, NY for railroad rules class, but I'm sneaking in a trip in a historic Fairmont speeder, Western Maryland MOW 101! Along with watching the entire parade of speeders leave southbound (Saturday) and northbound (Sunday) we ride to Beaver River on the NYC Adirondack Division, now the Adirondack Railroad...
He's just a smol tren. He try his best.
It’s a GREAT video as always
And DONT, for heaven’s sakes, worry about SHADOWS They are natural and occur in nature as well You’ve heard of DAPPLED sunlight; right? That’s just a polite way of describing shadows
I am leaving this place right now, it was a W day, a lot and a lot of trains!
Amtrak in Toronto must look like the ugly redhead stepsister compared with the spiffy Canadian power and passenger cars
Rear views of CSX heritage units are the best Great capture
I wish you had a chance to go inside our magnificent station and take some pictures. It is one of the finest remaining on the old New York Central Railroad.
@@J.M.Chadwick6 I’ve been in the Utica station many times and taken many pictures! It’s one of my favorite train stations ever
@@NorthCountryTrains Glad to learn that you have been inside. I was a part of the first effort to save it. It was a "monumental effort" but it certainly has paid off!
Rip But thata not amtrak 69
Great videos!
Very interesting video Harrison! As an old Jersey guy I tend to forget the "Suss-Qwee-Hanna" operates up in the Utica area but they sure do! I hear from time to time they ( "They" meaning the Utica authorities) want to end the street running but obviously it hasn't happened yet. And yes indeed, that's an old crossing guard tower! And it's probably been there for over 100 years. Quite a relic! Thanks for posting!
Great time and great catches. Glad to be able to meet up with you and railfan
@@Onhomerails ‘Twas a fun afternoon in Utica
nice video & nice catches
That’s awesome seeing vtr & NECR working together
Fantastic Will wait for the video
Interesting angle aand perspective! Call me crazy but for a second or two I thought I was looking at a super-detailed HO layout! : D
Half life
You should come back to the Cornwall, They Just did a Complete Make over of the Station's exterior recently and are replacing the Platform too. You will be left in shock to how much the Station has changed
Is that an ex-cp since it has a Canadian Nathan K3L and a Canadian e-bell
I can see why you told me you had to go yesterday Can’t wait for the full video
@@MillersRailfan Truly a once in a lifetime movement
@@NorthCountryTrains so awesome As are all your videos
You certainly saw and filmed a lot of trains on this one!
Thunder cab trails second!👀
Nice horn on 8141
Great video!!!!!
Thanks for the video. You caught some nice varied action both passenger and freight.
@@johnchambers8528 Variety is what I strive for!
Can you go next to Trois-Rivieres? a shortline railroad QGRY (G&W) run there, if you do go there, tell me when;)
Great video! I walk the bike path often. Sorry I missed this? How do you know when they will do the track swap out?
@@jdhinckley1954 I heard that the rail train was dropping rail on the radio, and once I located the train I followed them until they started dropping
Great video! Informative and entertaining! Great voice for narration!🚂🚂🚂🚂
Bnsf should make heritage units.
What a great train & a great day
Good show Harrison, as always! (It took me two days to watch this, I was a little distracted by an incident that took place in Pennsylvania yesterday which I'm sure you've heard about and concerned me greatly. )
@@wayneantoniazzi2706 it is QUITE concerning. Thanks for watching!
Ill trade the bml 51 for your 3573
@@NorthernNewEnglandRailfan no
@@NorthCountryTrains why not? All it needs is an entire new everything. Sounds like a solid deal
Nice catches! Man Farnham is depressing now. When I was there in 2018 it was busy, two locals, and a yard switcher and the yard was full.
@@Maine_Railfan These days you have two locals/switchers, and that’s only on certain days.
Your video quality is unmatched
I’m going to consider you as my translator when I go to the Montreal Jazz Festival in June
@@MillersRailfan You’re picking the worst person for the job I speak not a bit of French
❤❤❤ 31:39 that corridor engine
Question: Do Canadian manifest trains yet include swill and demo?
@@MillersRailfan Yep! You’ll commonly see such cars on 321 (only light power seen here) and 305.
@@NorthCountryTrains thank you
Great job catching that BCOL
You DID get that green signal to fall- the second time
Total admiration & respect for a conductor working outside in the Quebec wind
Well I see a passenger train but I don't see any boxcars full of beer and wine! On the other hand there seem to be an AWFUL lot of happy people on board! Maybe they emptied the boxcar, ditched it, and have been sampling the wares? :D
@@wayneantoniazzi2706 They were very happy to see me (and anyone along the tracks)
@@NorthCountryTrains Of course! You're getting to be famous Harrison!
Your comments are becoming famous too Strangely famous
@@MillersRailfan I know, I know. It's scary.
Women dispatchers ALWAYS sound better than their male counterparts on the radio
A snowless winter in Canada 🇨🇦 too
Phragmites 12:05 always present such an honorable framing of railroad action
