The roof sheathing nails that missed the truss might work it's way back up and might cause a roof leak.

The first problem I saw early in the video is that downspout draining directly into the flower bed which is essentially dammed up on all four sides. A conduit should be placed beneath the sidewalk or you'll have foundation issues, not to mention a mess on the concrete every time it rains. And that's roof flashing beneath the shingles, not trim.

returning empty boxes immediately ruins the mint condition and even a good portion of the collector's value. however if it is like those cheap collector cards you can get at the local gas station then a complete set can be worth more than a opened missing box collection of cards.

I bought a set of injectors on ebay, 600€ total. Seller stated they fit my car. I install them and went to a VW specialist to tune them up. Just to see that they are for 6cyl engines, not for my 4 cyl engine. I send them back, ebay takes my money because I returned used merchandise. So it's a constant battle for both sides.

I sure would never buy this home. It is very obvious the contractors didn't care how the home was built. In ten years major issues will start happening. Just think of all of the unseen areas like plumbing under the slab and in the walls. Also too small for a 4 bed room home. I am sure they put in the cheapest AC unit. Might get 5 years of service out of it. The patio looks like it is an inch thick and just installed on dirt for it to crack already.

I woulda walked away from this house. Door issues are very poor design. Roof issue is a great big deal.

I saw on a video if you open the package at the post office on camera and its not the thing they are supposed to send they can be charged with mail fraud.

After reading this i would not buy from them ,Thanks I was looking. We built our home 24 years ago ,best builders in the world, but they are retired now, a well built house, no problems!! I guess our retirement home we will have to find a good builder again but there are good builders out there. But staying as long as we can in ours. Sad because I was interested in them.

DR is bottom of the barrel

I was in a contract for a new DR Horton home in Lafayette Louisiana. I backed out of the contract and only lost $50 was buying the house remotely from Maryland. I had told my realtor I didn't want to be in an HOA Community. I wanted a house with Natural Gas and no HOA. Thankfully I found a house built in 2016 on my own built by a small builder. The only thing I had to give up was a third full bathroom. I have almost 1/2 acre lot and I like the rural area I am in a lot. I added more gutters to my house. Changed front and back doors. Added Briggs and Stratton 26KW Natural Gas Whole House Generator last Summer. A great local plumber and a local electrician have made some really nice improvements for me. Next will be changing to a Daikin Fit Inverter AC and Daikin Natural Gas Furnace and Daikin mini split in the garage. Both houses are all brick, the DR Horton house was $315,000 the house i bought was $309,000 the other thing was DR Horton has their own Mortgage company Insurance Company Settlement Company and Title Company. They were offereing a really tempting $10,000 towards closing costs and 5.5% fixed 30 years if i settled by end of February 2024. I settled on my current home March 1st 2024. Everyone in Louisiana except my real estate agent says i got so lucky to not buy the DR Horton house i went and saw the model home in the Summer on a weekend. It looked like Middle School kids built everything.

I don’t have a shop.. but when I sell on eBay, I put that I reserve the right to refuse a 0 feedback buyer.. does it hold up? Idk, but it helps avoid them. I won’t do it. Many people do without issue but it acts as a layer of protection

These homes are not being built by skilled tradesmen! Before they even start . I would be out there checking journeyman‘s cards ! If they don’t have one escort them off the construction site!

We bought a Continental Home and DR. Horton bought them out about 2/3 of the way done in construction of our home. We did not have a problem with DR. Horton. However, a neighbor's house down the street didn't have good luck. They left to go on vacation and found the toilet on the second floor was in the basement. DR. Horton did not contact any home owners of a recall on toilets. They sued DR. Horton.

I had a fraudulent seller on eBay I don't remember what I bought but say I bought it on the 10th and it was marked that it was delivered to me on the 9th I talked to eBay I did everything I needed to do to dispute it and they still sided with the seller so I contacted my credit card compan. I don't know how any idiot doesn't notice that I bought it on the 10th and it was delivered on the 9th not even Amazon can deliver that fast My credit card company gave me my money back

As opposed to the last video about your house that I watched I will save all my comments for one comment thread instead of leaving a bunch like I did on the last one. Lol. Smart home gimmick. My first house in 2002 came with a “free “alarm system. But similar to how you discovered it definitely wasn’t free. You had a sign up for the package! We didn’t sign up for it. I never used the alarm system. Initially it had power, and kinda like your smoke alarms, one night in the middle of the night it started going off for no reason. We had no idea how to shut it off, so I went to the basement into the control box ripped the power cord out and ripped the battery out. Never plugged it back in ever again. I see that some people think they are DR paid you for this. No way they did. They should not be proud of this video or the previous one with all the issues in their house they built. Way too many issues in a new house. I appreciate your general positivity and outlook. I’m glad it’s working out for you. I hope you’re happy. Like I said in the last video: these mass market home builders don’t leave much choice for buyers because they build what is considered “ affordable” housing and all the builders seem to suck. Oh my God! I can’t even get through this video because I keep stopping to leave comments. I cannot believe how many nails missed this trusses. As many that missed I would not trust their guy to go up there and push to see if they replaced the nails. Besides with all those extra nails on the roof, just more places to leak someday. You should’ve went up with them….cant trust them. No specialty inspectors (or however termed). Crazy! That just means they have stuff to hide. Really disappointing. I briefly lived in Florida in 2005 as the property values were shooting up. I looked at quite a few DR Horton homes. Couldn’t afford them. I guess that’s a good problem! Ended up moving back to Georgia four months later and I’m happy here! These big builders only care about one thing… The shareholders. That is absolutely it. They don’t give a crap about you.

American home builders are so disappointing. My first home was a mass market built house back in 2002. I didn’t know what I was doing and there were a lot of mistakes made. The third house I purchased in 2010 was a foreclosure from a builder that went under that a bank finished via a local builder on our behalf. We were very involved in that process, and I knew a little more by then, but it most definitely wasn’t perfect and there were a lot of water issues. Three years ago we bought a house on land that was built in 1979. It is the best built house I’ve owned. While the 2010 House was definitely my dream house (it was beautiful, and had everything I could possibly want including a custom finished basement that I did myself.), the old house on the land is a much better situation for raising kids and we are making it ours. Wow it is certainly not Perfect it is the most well built out of all of them. Sure it’s out of code in a lot of areas because a lot has changed in 45 years but I feel safer in this house than I had in all my other ones. American home builders really don’t leave a lot of choice to the mass market buying homes. DR Horton is building a new community next door to us where we have lived for twenty years. At the zoning meetings the city held prior to work starting we were told several times by a city official we should be grateful a developer was interested in the farmland they were buying to build the community and the tax revenue would support city services. We watched as they took away twenty acres of virgin top-soil and replaced it all with clay which they capped with enough of the original top-soil to grow grass, disturbing all the ground in the process. Before the ground settled they started building. The bulk of the top-soil they removed was hauled away in dump trucks. This went on for days and we have no idea what they did with the top-soil or where the fresh clay they hauled in came from. In the meantime, the city announced in the local newspaper to expect a property tax increase. None of the houses have basements as they are slabs of concrete poured right through the freezing winter months. I feel like both the city and the developer are working to obtain maximum profit and tax revenue.

Who buys a brand new home, where you cannot open and close your doors properly, where your door has the potential to break your shower glass, nails that aren’t secured into the rafters, where the carpet is already messed up??? You are either very naive, or they have given you a big break on the price, or you are just plain ole stupid!

There sure are an awful lot of things "they have to fix". Any one of those issues would not have happened with a quality builder. DR Horton....the Maaco of home builders.

Sounds like pump failed and liquids are building up so you don't overflow the damn septic. Some pumps are expensive and how far do you have to pump will determine the years you get out of it. The simple things, besides scoring the concrete right away, were simple fixes that should have been done right, but hey, if youre happy that's all that really matters.

They also use lines to follow when using nail guns so they hit there mark. Should have contacted me first. Shit happens.

Why didn't they score the cement surface to direct cracks. That's how my builder controls cracks.

This was a small house and should be a simple build without having all these minor issues. I do love that you shared it though, it would be considered a relatively poor job if I were building or buying a home.

Mold and radon tests are a waste of time....and money.
