That's a terrible leader. I mean, if you dont want workers, then make them rebuild an entire wall over a single chip. At this point the better solution is to try and repair the chip and learn/teach a new skill to his people. It saves everybody time and money and everyone is happy.and he can take that skill into the future and be that much better at his job. Just another reason why the customer should come to you and not the competition
