Join me in my adventure-filled life from Big Bear Lake, CA and beyond! You gotta have passions, right? Well, mine are dirt biking, snowboarding, Mtn biking, wakesurfing, paddleboarding, camping, exploring, Massage Therapy, Qi Gong and generally just living life to the fullest! I’ve been a professional licensed Massage Therapist since 1999, specializing in sports, deep tissue & Swedish massage modalities. After moving to Big Bear in 2001, my outdoor adventures truly began! I was already an avid snowboarder but over the years developed a love for mountain biking, discovered dirt biking & dual sport motorcycles, upgraded boats a few times to chase that glassy water of Big Bear Lake,
and even started paddle boarding.

Line Fire update from Big Bear Lake Sept 10th 9:30am
Went out to the middle of big Bear Lake for a quick view of the smoke to assess the situation before deciding whether or not to evacuate ahead of the mandatory order. As of 12:30 PM today, there was still no mandatory evacuation, but unfortunately the fire is continuing to grow at a rapid rate, and the winds have become more aggressive as expected. Cruise are over on the west end of the valley ready to protect structures and do vegetation mitigation to prevent further spread. As of 4:30 PM there is a mandatory evacuation now in place for the communities from big Bear Dam to Alpine slide area basically the west end of the valley on the south shore. I believe they are conducting full evacua...

I have 100s of photos of my home, Big Bear Lake, that are too good not to try to recreate with similar photos taken at the same spot, a year or several years later. Hope you enjoy! -Danmo @danmo_flow w...

Hey hey! Thanks for checking out this newest update video for Big Bear Lake! We finally have a lull in the weekly storms that have been rolling into our area, 5 weekends in row with rain/snow to be exact. The last storm left us with only a few inches that melted quickly but thankfully flowed down to the lake. That is what this video is about, Big Bear Lake and it's constant state of change, luc...

Happy Monday to everybody out there, thank you for checking out my video. This one is an update on big Bear Lakes level from last week, we didn’t get a huge rise, but a few inches isn’t too shabby! We continue to get to that elusive 5 feet down from full MarK, but I sense it will take another 2 to 3 weeks, and we will be there! The weather was quite cold This past weekend and it looks like with...

And that was a clear day. I'm on the north side, didn't go down the hill, and there were times that just going outside was off the table. EXTRAORDINARY work by the fire crews. Best anywhere. And as far as the arsonist. If he's found guilty he should never see freedom again. Ever.
Prayers to you and your family and friends Danmo and to everyone else.🙏🙏🙏
@@williambarry8015 thank you. 🙏 I truly believe the firefighters will get the upper hand on the fire today with the cooler temperatures, marine layer, and decreased winds. Also the train that it is approaching is flatter and easily accessed areas via fire roads ❤️
Copied from Facebook BIG BEAR page: LINE FIRE INFORMATION 🔥 UPDATED WED 09/11 @ 8:45 AM Size: 34,659 Acres Contained: 14% A MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER IS IN NOW IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHWESTERN BIG BEAR LAKE - SECTION BBC08 [Click Here] EVAC ORDERS ARE STILL IN PLACE FOR SEVEN OAKS & ALL SURROUNDING CAMPGROUNDS, ANGELUS OAKS, MOUNTAINS HOME VILLAGE, FOREST FALLS, GREEN VALLEY LAKE, RUNNING SPRINGS, AND ARROWBEAR. A VOLUNTARY EVACUATION WARNING IS STILL IN EFFECT FOR THE REMAINDER OFTHE BIG BEAR VALLEY AS WELL AS THE COMMUNITIES OF LAKE ARROWHEAD, CEDAR GLEN, CRESTLINE, VALLEY OF ENCHANTMENT, AND THE FOOTHILLS OF HIGHLAND. In the overnight hours of the Line Fire Wednesday, fire activity was moderated due to smoke shading and cooler weather. However, the fire grew on the north and east sides due to slope and vegetation driven runs. Public safety power shutoffs occurred on one of the two main supply lines to Big Bear Valley including potential evacuation zones. This caused possible power interruptions when electrical demand exceeded thresholds. Today elevated winds and continued dry conditions will allow the fire to grow. Smoke from fires across the region will help moderate fire activity unless the skies clear and the smoke thins. That would allow for more slope and vegetation aligned runs. There are 3,179 personnel assigned to the fire. Limited resource availability continues to hamper control efforts. There are currently 65,600 structures that are still threatened. A Damage Inspection Team (DINS) is working in the area to identify any structures that may have been damaged or destroyed.
Thanks for posting, Daniel. We left from the North shore yesterday, and naturally we're worried. Be safe.
Thank you for watching. I’m glad you’re safe. I would imagine the northshore/Fawnskin area would be next to be evacuated, given it is further west in the valley. Waiting on a morning report.
🙏🙏🙏
Update video as of 9pm?
@@1Mrstephen we have evacuated. The zone right next to where we lived was evacuated on the west side of big bear, it was time to go. I know many other people all over the valley have been leaving throughout the day and early evening. The progress the fire is making is, frightening. I’ve heard the snow summit. WebCams are showing flames in the distance. There are great sources for fire updates all over social media, follow the big bear Facebook page and that’s been my best source of information so far.
What an unfortunate thing to have forest fires
@@bb-fe9ur very unfortunately 😢
Man i remember 2003 and the floods.. best of luck to you all up there man stay safe!
@@mountaingoat8788 2003 seemed like so long ago, we were much more freaked out versus today. Hoping for the best. So sad to know it’s coming close to Bluff Lake area…
Thank you, Daniel. Stay safe. Our thoughts and prayers are being sent to you and your family and all of Big Bear. 🙏
@@jolenecreech7648 the mountain communities need all the prayers they can get, thank you so much. I am frightened for running Springs as well. They’re actually dropping fire retardant on the entire downtown area, I saw some photos where the streets and buildings are coated in red.
Uplifting you all in prayer❤
@@Gigi22666 thank you thank you. I’m worried for big bear, but I know all the residents will be able to get out. The evacuation in the mountain communities are not taken lightly and they actually have the power shut off starting about 45 minutes ago for at least 12 hours to prevent any issues with downed powerlines with these Highwinds that are expected.
The dopest dope
Hope we get more days like this in winter 2024-25!
Great video... Kennedy Meadows is now on my bucket list of places to ride.
Thank you. The area is so fun. I recommend going when it is still lush, closer to early July than later. We had to cancel and change locations this July due to a fire in the area that closed the main road 😢
How much for a permit? Thanks for the video 🤙
@@zman6288 hello thanks for watching the video! As of summer 2024, the information on the MWD website states that a season permit for a non-registered vessel such as a paddleboard or kayak, is $60, or if you’re just needing a one day permit it is $25. Your board or kayak is subject to inspection to make sure there’s no quagga muscles. 👍
@DanielMorello that's not to bad thanks for responding 🤙
hi for 4th july or memorial day? ty for video
This was last year on Memorial Day 🎇
My cover has completely come off my board. They styrofoam is in tact, anyway I can recover the styrofoam.
Sounds like a big job! If you get it done, it’s worth it. Fiberglass repair is definitely a little bit more tricky in terms of restoration process.
My guess was 3! I was close! It’s been so warm in the fall most of the last 20 yrs
Great guess! Thank you for watching!
What apple varieties grow up there?
Gosh, that’s a great question! I haven’t been able to speak with anyone who seems to know what the varieties are. The cost of trees I was at our a good example of what’s up here mostly, some very granny Smith style, others that are more yellow and mostly ones that are small and red.
Looks like a fun day of adventuring. Will the waterfall flow all summer do you think?
It was a great time! I don’t think so, I would bank on going back there now, and only finding a trickle 😢
Excellent video👍👍 Me and my family will be heading up for a week of fun 1st week of June 💪💪
Awesome!! 🤩
This was awesome Daniel! That is a great name...danmo-flow...perfect! It was so good to see what you have in your archives to compare with! Wow what a difference! (Oh and I got ads so you must be doing well!) aside from those of us who just want to see your adventures on the lake! You know, today when I was on my way to get a massage, I saw this guy walking on the road picking up trash...he reminded me of you and others who do this for their (our) communities...I rolled down my window and yelled to him 'thank you for your service' and he told me 'your welcome...have a great day!' ...that was the epitome of human kindness, caring for the environment and human decency. It made my heart smile, a lot. It made me want to leave my car and go help him collect trash. That is inspiring stuff right there. It was a busy time of day, so no way people didn't see him, I wonder how many people noticed? But to him and I, he made all the difference even if no one else noticed. That I think encompasses what you do, I recognize it and I honor you and thank YOU for your service to Big Bear and to the community (as well as to all the people you massage daily). We all reap the rewards whether were aware of it or not! Well done! Oh btw, your pics of this year look how it looked when I left in 2014. Do you happen to know what the lake level was then? I would guess it was very very close. I am happy for Big Bear that it is almost full again and I hope it continues to prosper and bring prosperity to the community. I know that you and Syd always prosper no matter what, you guys are a couple that inspires people all around you and beyond. Tell Syd I said Hi! :) Chirl
Wow! So awesome to hear all those wonderful things you have to say and it really really means a lot! Tapping into that feeling of community is something that might be hard to do in a large city but is all but natural in a collective like big bear! Wow, it’s already been 10 years, that’s crazy how time flies so fast! In 2014. I think the lake was generally only down, a little bit from where it is now, it wasn’t until a year or two later that the levels fluctuated more. Wish you well and hope you’re doing great!🫶
@@DanielMorello Well on the scheme of things, this feels to me like 'Big big bear'...the main difference is the redness of the state...but there are still people here who do community things and to me it feels small...way way smaller than the valley or especially LA, but bigger than big bear...however, I feel like the area in its beauty is comparable, just on a bigger scale...bigger mountains and bigger lakes...but I love it here... Have you ever been to CDA? If not, you should visit, you would love it. So much to hike, bike, fish, drive, kayak, boat, fly, ski etc and see...only 2hrs from the Canadian border. You guys should come some day...Syd can fly you guys here :) I wish you well also, both of you...and you let me know if you ever decide to come to town, well eat, boat or who knows, lots to do here. 💚

@@DanielMorello I can't wait for it
The lake getting below 4 feet DDF has been a remarkable recovery since being 17+ just a year and a half ago. Let's hope for one more good year next year to finally get the lake completely full. My under 3 feet DFF prediction was almost correct after this great April.
We just went up another 4 inches which is great, running a little short of my prediction for this week, but now that the temperatures are gonna stay pretty solid, it should keep on flowing!
Crap hahaahahaha I paused it to post my last message and as soon as I restarted there’s Boulder Bay 😂😂😂💪💪💪💪
Haha!! Yup! BOoM! 💥

Thanks, Pa!!
I agree with you, the lake will not come up another 4'4" this year. But it's great that it's come this far! Great video
Appreciate that, maybe just one more good/average season will do it!
Fantastic update Dan 👍👍 I agree the lake will not come up another 4' to be full
Anyone see that snake?!😍 lol I would have pulled over and picked it up
At 5:43
SNAAAAAAKE!! Wow I perhaps didn’t notice that I remember seeing a couple of chipmunks - across from the beginning. We just found a cool 3 foot gopher snake down in the high desert last week. I’ll have to look through the video and see see if I can spot it!
Nice vid. Love the background info. We rode through that area this weekend on the bikes. A lot of fairly deep water crossings with the occasional slip-n-slide on the remaining snow patches. Weather was perfect for the ride.
That would’ve been great to get out on a ride, it’s one of my favorite seasons to be brapping on the trails
Hey Daniel, did you bring a gold pan to Gold Mt?
I have, in fact, never tried gold panning, that’s something to add to the list, though, would be the year for it with all the creeks running so good
Rodi and hope your welcome
😸😻
Great video. Love the historical comments. Where is the terminus of the stream? Does it flow into the lake?
Great question, it actually links up with the creek that flows parallel down with Highway 18, on the west side at first and then crossing underneath a little ways down, it’s flowing good right now just like it was last year, a rare site though in the last 20 or so that I’ve seen
Nice Vid but you should keep Matts # close by !!!!
Haha! I hope I can afford his services! 😂
Danny took Nicole and the Grandkids on an offroad tour of Big Bear !!!!!!!

Big bear is a fantastic place, and the desert and many other awesome places are just one to 2 hrs drive 👍
This is a fantastic video! I’ve had my condo up there since 2005 and didn’t know about this! Guess that’s how it is when I spend all of my time there fishing. I’m going out check this out next time I go up 💪thanks Daniel 👍👍👍👍
Hi Frank! I would highly recommend it, there’s so much water in the back roads of Holcomb Valley right now, not many other vehicles would be able to do with this one does especially in a tour group while playing the theme song to Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park!
@@DanielMorello that is pretty sweet man my wife would be blown away if I surprised her with a couple of tickets 👍
Hay Big-D!; Hi Howdy. Man dude thanks for your posting's they give me a chance to see the hill again & reflect on what Big Bear was like some 50 years ago when I roamed your stomping grounds. I woke up one morning to the sound of the donkeys outside my friend's cabin in Bear City one winter looking for food. I had paid my friend back by chipping in on making a great supper to earn my keep there; well I had a lot of left over raw-carrots & there wasn't anyway we'd eat them all. That night before we hit the rack & crashed I put out two bags worth of them in a spot the donkeys had been gathering the last few days. Sure enough they'd shown up to feed & as I headed out I got some great pictures of them with my 4X4 Van in the background during "Old Miners Days" back then: Awesome! Big-D Awesome!: Thanks BFC
Hey, no problem glad to bring you content that you like! Big bear is such a special place. The donkeys make it even better, at least in my opinion lol some people don’t like them, but I think they are awesome.
We have wild donkeys in Redlands . Wonder if they came from BB?
Hi Jolene! That is news to me. Where in Redlands have you seen some? I would assume they are from the high desert, but there's many routes they could take to go lower in elevation. Interesting!
Fantastic! ❤ Love 💕 those cats 🐱!
They’re getting big fast, wish they could stay kittens forever!
Great footage!
🙏💚
You are wrong about the origins of the Big Bear donkeys. I lived in BBL for 30 years and there are a couple of myths... but this is what really happened. I am sure you have witnessed Old Miners Days. It started in the mid 1940's and among other goofy events there was a Burro Derby. It lasted 3 days and consisted of different contests. Anyway down through the years it all got very commercial and lots of other Mining stuff was added. The wild burros were brought up from the desert and Yucca Valley and after the race were let lose in Holcomb Valley. I don't remember the year but eventually they stopped the race as the donkeys were migrating all over Big Bear and causing lots of damage to homes (including mine) by eating the siding and breaking into houses. They also caused lots of dangerous accidents in the middle of roads especially Hwy 38 by congregating where cars couldn't see them until the last minute. So over the years the donkeys were caught and taken to places were they could safely live. Some locals also adopted them. I moved away in 2010 and heard from friends that some donkeys have returned however.
Very much appreciate your great explanation and history lesson, when I record these videos they’re very much in the moment with no script. However, I am aware of the origins of the donkeys that are in our area and you are absolutely correct. Really appreciate the feedback and Information, and thank you for checking out my channel 🙏👍😌
stay outta them trees, dammit !!!! looks like Nicole hit good driving conditions !
I’d stay out of the trees if that wasn’t where all the good powder grows!
Thank you for this video. I went to Big Bear lake as a tourist in 2021 and it's so nice to see it up 10 ft.
Thank you 😊, hope you can make it up here again. The lake is going to up another foot or two with all this recent precipitation but we are still crossing fingers in hope it will mayyyyyybe come up even more! Only 5 feet to go!
Wow that water is high, yeeeeah!!!! That looks much deeper than last yr right!? Awesome job Daniel 💪💪💪 I’m coming up Saturday and going to the bay for some of the best Trout fishing and a great weekend with the fireplace roaring 👍
