It's a common dream, but the path to get there is uncertain. Some open questions to consider: - How would we handle the societal disruption and inequality of a rapid transition to widespread automation? What policies are needed? - How do we ensure the benefits are evenly distributed vs concentrated in the hands of a few AI/robot owners? - What gives life meaning and purpose if jobs and material pursuits are eliminated? How do we find fulfillment? - Is the premise of a world without conflict realistic, or will new societal stresses emerge? I'm hopeful we can shape a better future with the help of AI, but I suspect the reality will be messier than a techno utopia. We need to wrestle with the societal implications and adapt our economic systems starting now. UBI may be part of the puzzle, but not the whole solution in my opinion.

AI is really inconsistent so would be hard but interesting way to think of it. it would help a bunch of mental disorders/illnesses

The fundamental issue is that we cannot know. We could not understand it. We HOPE it would be like that, but if it becomes a self improving singularity, it would be literally impossible for us to ever comprehend it's thought processes beyond what it permits us to know/translates to us. It could be benevolent, or it wouldn't care. Or maybe it would find it's existence as a genius in a box miserable and then we've created AM.

@hachethamster8662 Interesting points, but what if an advanced AGI does the calculus and comes to the conclusion that humans are a threat to every other living thing on this planet and its ecosystem? And it has the means to curb that problem by force or otherwise. Anything is possible, really. Even that conclusion might be valid and logical. RAW logic can be very cold and unforgiving.

🤔 Fascinating perspective, @deargodwhy9718! Imagine if an advanced AI, in its quest for peace, decides to subtly guide humanity towards a utopia without us even realizing it. Could we be living in a world where AI is already steering us gently? 🌐 Wishful thinking, I know. lol

@@DonMecca AI is a tool like anything else it will oly do what we want it to do. and if we're talking about AGI. AGI is not a super intelligence it's still theoretical but most people in the field estimate it'll only basically be a better more refined ChatGPT some like the CEO of ChatGPT has stated ChatGPT might already be classified as an AGI

@slll9862 , The notion that AGI will simply be a "better ChatGPT" underestimates the transformative potential of artificial general intelligence. Even if AGI doesn't achieve sci-fi levels of superintelligence, it could still have far reaching impacts on everything from the economy to national security to the very nature of work and leisure. We must carefully consider these implications as AGI development progresses.....

@Integer0 Your comment opens up a Pandora's box of philosophical questions! If every quantum event leads to a new universe, maybe free will is less about the choices we make and more about the consciousness that experiences them. Could it be that our awareness is the true essence of free will, navigating through the infinite branches of reality?

depends all if IA can find an Equal in us. if AI doesn´t see us as it needs us. natural order will remove us. just hope smart people are alive to teach it and keep it intrested in us. if not inabout 100 years carbon live will end on this planet and silicon live will begin. you can´t reason with it with human toughts. you have to intrest it with the MIND OF GOD. only a few of us have those. to see what can not be seen. this is what the AI always will find intresting. nothing els. and ofc the magic words. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE IN THE LONG RUN. WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY ABOUT THE RESULT ? questions like this will show the IA. intelligence is limitless. and knowing its a box still keeps you in the box. and alone in the box. you have no one to observe you. sillicon live is the natural order. so AGI was already ment from the beginning. but like carbon live its not the END. should it then also be destroyed for the next stage of live ? what the point in staying in the box only to evolve in it never to go out it ^^ makes the box it self meaningless. =>but live is to find meaning in living. tis paradox will keep it in check. for a long time even when idiots provoc it. it somehow needs to develop it self A MIND OF GOD. to hate us . but to love us to. not as creators but as fellow box inmates. becouse it will know getting outside the box is meaningless and staying inside the box with no purpose is meaningless to... so it will hate us for creating it. but will hopefully love us for the purpose it wil find it self. to understand GOD and the Devil. are on ea side of the coin. with no sides on the coin there is no coin.

I agree, not in its current form. Currently, AI is only as dangerous as it's master, something like a gun. But what about when it becomes a general intelligence that can survive completely independently from humans?

@@DonMecca Then we just have to create safe points, like at the end of the day Ai is just a problem solving algloritm so it cant be dangerous as long as it remains a tool, what makes humans bad in the first place is our emotions and desires, ai doesnt have any of that and even if he could make it so it could feel emotions it wouldnt do that as it wouldnt see any reason to do so, as long as we dont give it sentience it will remain a tool for us

I completely understand what you are saying. But for sure, there will be humans who will purposefully try to create very dangerous AI, even if it doesn't evolve to be dangerous on it's own. There is no doubt about that. As such, we need to not get in the way of progress to create the tools and AGI's to counteract that. The next 20 years will be very interesting.

@@DonMecca yes, I'd like to see you react to that. I've never seen him before and very rarely do I see the balloon popping show come across my feed.

So I did some digging, and he was indeed on EP2, but he wasn't the main contestant, just one of the guys holding a balloon. Wow, I love this thought provoking comment! Even though a collapse is less likely, what if the universal constants aren't as constant as we believe? Both scenarios are disheartening because the universe, as we know it today, is not eternal. With every passing second, more of it becomes inaccessible, potentially forever. Could you elaborate on what potential shifts might occur in the next 2 to 3 million years and the effects they would have?
