TLDR Hi, is tripod really that bad? I don't live in USA, well let's just say I live in a 3rd world country. Most brand of tripods suggested by astrophotography websites and RUclipsrs are too hard to get. Dealing with customs clearance is painful, not to mention costly because everything above 30$ is considered that I am doing trade as in I'm importing something to make money hence extra taxes. 2nd hand options cost same price as brand new ones if I was living in USA or EU. Because of taxes, prices don't depreciate. For example starwatcher GTI costs 1500$ (with tripod) Some random, semi sturdy tripods alone cost like 500$ 2nd hand.

This has already been said, more or less, but: The dummy battery is designed to take 12-17 volts in and attenuate it to 8 volts. An NPF only provides 7.4 volts, which is only half of what the Kondor dummy battery requires. You'll notice there are only 2 silver pins on all dummy batteries, including the Panasonic OEM kind. I'm sure by now you've got this all figured out!

I just got my GTi today. I was able to polar alignment and don't have any issues with star trailing, but the go to function seems to be all over the place. It'll get pretty close with 1 star alignment, but then when it wants me to manually center Jupiter in my camera viewfinder and save, the arrow buttons on the SynScan app move the mount in all kinds of random locations which prevents me from being able to do 2 or 3 star alignment. And then my deep space objects don't show up when I use the goto function. I'm sure it's user error, but it's very frustrating

You have a huge amount of experience in a several areas including an area most of us think is interesting. I can see from your video that you are having a lot of frustration about things, I am not belittling your feelings by saying a lot of us have had those days, months or years when we have felt that way especially if we are exhausted and feeling we have not made the headway in life we should or could of had. It will pass and it is best as you are doing to take some time out and step back a bit. Once you have had some time to reset and appreciate what you have achieved in your life, and you have done a lot, you will hopefully come back to this. Any way as most people have said we hope to see you back in some form. I would do the thing with Jay and let him steer what you will talk about, as you know most things are scripted or can be scripted. I think there is a big set of youtubers who would love your time on their shows, as I said you can always nail down the things you can talk about. As a closing sentence I would say most of us are in one way or another seen as more useful from our past experiences, it is not a negative, being sought after because of what you have done in the past is normal and is great if it can open doors. It's true I found you via your history with Star Wars but the reality is I stayed for your insightful knowledge on other subjects. As someone who has checked out in regards to that franchise I totally get where you're coming from as I'm in a similar boat. Granted, most folks who know my work as an artist are more likely familiar with my Star Wars fanart and fanfictions, so when I stopped that about a year ago I lost support. No biggie, though. It reminded me why I was never that big on fanart in the first place and my passion will always be original content. Shame about the zealous anti-Disney Star Wars fans out there. I hope you never saw me as one of them and I certainly never blamed you for anything regarding the franchise. Anyway, I hope I discover your other channels at some point. While it'd make things easier if you did leave a few bread crumbs around, I understand. Good fortune with their success!

I think more interviews and anecdotes from that era would gain more views... and secondary was your demeanor... that made us subscribe to your channel... peeking and say with a random video and a take, was like running into that dude you pump fists once a month when you run into him at the park or whatever... hope you're ok, many of us think u cool and hope you find contentment in whatever you do mate... PS. I think you can do both what you love and continue doing what fans came to you for. I dont agree with your view, I think more of a famous actor from a beloved Tv series, or an athlete of a beloved sports team... their past is the equity and good will people have for them now. Imagine Seinfeld saying "oh you only like me cuz of the series I was in" or Tom Brady "you like my input only about football stuff but not my new shoe making hobby" or Brad Pitt "yeah you wanna talk about my acting days instead of my gardening knowledge" there are many fields where people ask "wow you worked on Space X? on the Olympic committee?' whatever, that is a great subject that will have interest, its part of your background... thats why old 80s 90s actors or people around those productions are so popular on podcast and they dont mind, you shouldn't either mate... the public that will come from your perusal interests, will come on their own and will be what they will be regardless of the Star Wars fans. Enjoy the Star Wars fans, if you were unlikable it would matter that you worked on LF. I say this honestly and wishing you the best. I'll be completely honest... Life is short. And either you embrace what you have become and run with it or you decide to try something new. Either way it's about being happy. However, I ALSO believe understanding where your voice fits in, and how it can be used to the best of your ability, is equally important. Once you put your name/ hat in the ring, and expose your knowledge of experiences, then it's either go with it or not. It's also about blocking out the noise. You said yourself that even in the "nature" RUclips space that you were constantly denegrated and threatened. So, what's different about the pop culture space? I want you to do what YOU want to do. But it's also important to have people that have experienced things like "production" (which you said most of us will never do what you have done) to educate people like myself and also give insight into that realm. I understand if you don't feel strongly about the "culture war" and want no part in it. And I can also understand that most of your subs came from a group of people you went no part of (like myself). I'm not a fanatic or "all or nothing" fan of Star Wars, Trek, etc. But, I also like hearing your opinions on the way thing used to be as opposed to how they are now. That's important. But, it's one less person with experience to educate people like myself on the things I'm interested in. And that's ok for you to not want to do that anymore. I hope you find what your looking for. As my uncle always said, the grass may be greener, but it also might be green paint over there... Hope you cultivate a fanbase with whatever it is you do and that it sustains your RUclips lifespan.
