Filmmaking's most boring tool REVEALED
might have to steal your pouch idea.. but the leather idea is also genius, i got plenty of leather and punchers 😮💯 thank u for the ideas
You gained a sub! This was pleasantly entertaining and informative. Thank you!
To make great circles out of leather, you can use a normograph ! You may find them in a school supply store, and it's pretty cheap too ;)
Just stumbled on your channel. Great tips and awesome delivery just got you a new sub.
Finally I found the voice of sense in all that hype about filming like a pro according to a standard.🙏🏻
I’m here for the vibes.
Locked off tripod shots are massively underrated!
It’s a circular drill bit for perfect circle with a hole in the middle
You make very enjoyable, watchable videos. Your presence and delivery are spot on perfect, comfortable. Vibe is juuuuuuuuuust right. Humor is dry and sardonic which is right in my wheelhouse. Thanks very much for all the work you put in to these.
When you blurred the finger shot I LOST IT 🤣🤣🤣
Omg. This. Is. Brilliant. In every way. The music, the lighting, your audio, your voice and rhythm of speaking, the cuts, the music, the dynamic increasing volume of music at times, your humour. Nailed it bro We cherish your vids Thank you
I loooove your channel
I literally used everything from this video, but I never knew about such an effective trick with a leather
truly canadian 😂
You're Hilarious! I'm loving this channel, thanks bud for the killer tips. Cheers from a fellow Canadian
I support that mirror technique

Yes Jesse. Chocolate milkshakes are a great filmmaking tool. I’ve kept mine for years now 🫶🏻
if jesse gets what jesse deserves, how much wood could jesse chuck at woody harrelsen?
(the answer is five, by the way)
I love that outdated was in quotes. Slays me how many youtube educated "filmmakers" call a camera outdated because they are always chasing after the latest and greatest.
Jesse wants perfection. I felt that! Clients often stare at me, like what are you doing are you ready yet?
A slippery slope!
Useful, great fun
Princess Auto is goated. Great video, man.
I can smell the off-gassing rubber just thinking about it!
Every man goes through a leather working phase… 😅
6:14 fk’n hilarious omg
Finding humour in my moment of despair???? :)
Well, that was a total joy, Jesse! Thank you. I found myself excitedly writing down 'clamps as legs', 'pink dots', 'pouchify your life', and even 'look into flattering chaps?'. I'm going to seriously embrace at least half of those suggestions.
I strongly suggest ALL of those suggestions. Thanks for watching George!
Omaga, it's a mthrfkng FunkyBlackCat reference
rocket epresso machine, i like it 2:03
i love how you talked about homes, and the places, the feelings about things, you speak good words bro
Thank you!
"thank you for being my therapy" you made me laugh, i guess thanks should be to you not me :]
Today at my corporate job, during a large meeting, my boss said 'Ahmed is not only a great photographer but he is also a filmmaker' I responded by saying 'Whenever I say I am an amateur filmmaker, people think I shoot porn, but I don't". Next time I will just show them 5:09 and say nothing

I wish to increase your engagement because you are so engaging. I will watch this more than once, not just because it conveys useful information but because it is pleasurable and stimulates my thinking about solutions I have developed but do not recognize and solutions I can experiment with today. Thank you.
Me too! I know a way to lift Jesse’s engagment Like every comment on this vid and leave comments. Lots of comments. The RUclips algorithms weight the engagment of comments and likes of comments highly. Very highly. So easy to do while watching Jesse’s brilliant video. Spread the word! Let’s get Jesse to the top!
That's the proper way to have an extra large chocolate milkshake!
… pretty sure it’s the only way
Loved it all.
"Jesse gets what he wants and wants perfection" lol
LOL. Chuckling my way through the video but LedOL at the end as I was no longer afraid I was going to miss something. Thank you!
My wife: "you made our son film THAT?"
Does anyone know the song at the beginning?
Canning video...do it! Sexy lighting - macro - moving camera and or moving jars - color of the jam - translucent reds glowing out of the darkness. High end product film with homemade goods - elevate personal craft!!! Nice video. Leather is a great tip.
Lol, thanks, and ironically when I was stuck in advertising I built a portfolio out of documenting trying to stay out of the grocery store as much as possible. There were many sexy mason jar shots.... lol
Now image me as a cowboy, just wearing Chaps and a big old hat, I call you over to the edge of a a baseball pitch*** "yo my guy, well can I call you Jess, no! Okay Jesse, well Jesse, I like your video. Its a good video, pretty relatable. Jesse, I will subscribe to your channel, I surely will"
CUT TO a mom hurrying her children away from two men on said pitch as fast as she can, lol. Thanks for watching!
Your video makes me thank the heavens for the internet. You teach me things AND make me laugh...my 2 favorite things. Thank you, sir. You are awesome.
Thanks for watching, Jess!
I just love your perfect blend of humor and practical industry insight. Thank you for this.
Thanks Caleb!
7:09 can I give you a hug 🤗 - great information and presentation of said information. 👏👏👏
11:45 made me subscribe. 🤣
flattering chaps
I freaking LOVE this video. My recent After Effects kick musta fed the algorithm to bring me here. I have 30+ rubbermaid tubs in my apt and counting, your dollar store pouch tip is going to be life changing. If your leather is too thick to work a gasket punch through it, then get yourself some hole saw drill bits that have the bit protruding as a :"center" lead for the saw.. Clamp the leather to some scrap wood that's deep enough to accommodate the leading bit if protecting surface beneath. If you can't eyeball when you're through the leather then you'll feel it when the saw teeth contact the wood. After each leather piece is drilled, move to a fresh section of the scrap wood. And wear PPE! :) Anyhoo, imma smashing that like and subscribe button. xD
Yes! I have a hole saw kit and will try it!
On the topic of diopters vs tubes. For ultra macro shots I’ve always used close up diopters, because often I’ve acquired them in groups of 3 or 4. But if I were to be running and gunning, I would use the tubes. I’ve used them more in film photography, and they work great, even for making makeshift tripods, out of a hat and a tube, for self shooting spontaneously. For me, diopters have primarily been a creative tool; split diopters and prisms. Extension tubes are just durable, and quite versatile pieces of metal.
Yeah, seeing the (extremely preliminary) results, def going to add diopters to my kit, but love the ext. tubes for their simplicity. Will keep both!
Thank you! You’ve just solved a problem I’ve had for a few months now, I love my RB67 but it’s been a nightmare to get it right on a tripod. Defo going to get a geared head now 😊😊
Yeah, if you bump that dial and it loosens, that's a lot of weight flopping over too! Lots of geared heads on Facebook Marketplace where I am (should have looked there first!) I'm probably going to pick up another one.
@@jessesenko yeah I've had a bunch of times where I've lined up my shot, tightened the ball head and then let go of the camera and it moves to a worse framing.
the last tip/tool in the video is the most important and professional one tbh anyone who is watching youll end up seeing this on tons of sets with great DP's/gaffers
yeah, and you don't have to take the tape off to dispense. Always organised!
Oh shit, just witnessed your camio on Mattie's new video, you look good mate 🤣👌
Thanks for letting me know! Still have to watch!
Told my therapist to take this session off… the Senko-Meister just dropped.
Maybe I can see your therapist while you're watching my vid, lol
I just came across your channel, I love your vibe!
Thanks Marti!
Use a circle cutter to cut circles. It’s like a compass but has a blade. Olfa makes a great one and most art supply stores stock them.
I have a tiny one for paper that would never cut through leather, but had a beefier Olfa one in my hands a few weeks ago at the fabric store. Shoulda bought it! I will next time!
