Thanks for posting. Roger is on bass, David on guitar, Richard Wright on keys, and Nick Mason on drums.
David Gilmour on lead guitar, Roger Waters on bass.
This is just the 4 of them performing here. David Gilmour on guitar and singing harmonies with Rick Wright, who is on the keyboards. Nick Mason on drums and Roger Waters on that pounding bass. David does rhythm guitar along with the lead guitar solos.
Some of Floyd's greatest lyrics appear in this particular work with possibly their most important being the following message to mankind to treat each other with more empathy and appreciate each other's differences - 'Strangers passing in the street, by chance two separate glances meet and I am you and what I see is me'.
Yes, it's still David Gilmour here. Very good looking guy which helped him do a bit of modelling work on the side.
28:51 bro you have no idea how lucky you are you have listened to these two amazing albums and still haven't listened to the dark side of the moon. You thought what you heard so far was good? Just you wait
The venue is over 2000 years old!
Saw Pink Floyd's Dark Side tour at Milwaukee County stadium back in '75. "Echoes" was the encore. Saw 'em a couple years later at Soldier Field for the Animals tour and they didn't play it. Don't know if they played it after the Dark Side tour. Certainly not any other time I saw 'em live. Cheers....
You're gonna lose your shit on this tune.
Roger's on bass, they don't show him much in this video. David on guitar. There is no rhythm guitar, just the four primary instruments (lead and bass guitars, keys, and drums).
Nice man!! Hey if i may recommend a song, its called The End by The Doors man! such a good song, really psychodelic like this one
Back in 1971 they had to haul all their equipment a few miles and when they got there they didn't realize there was nowhere to plug in for power!! So they had to run power lines and cables for two or three miles to get power to all their lighting and sound equipment LOL!
This is the same classic lineup of Pink Floyd that you hear on all of their biggest albums of the 70s. David Gilmour guitar and vocals with nice harmonies from keyboardist Rick Wright. Roger Waters here on bass is the only one not present on the 'Pulse' concert video from 1994, having left the band in the mid 80s.
As much as I love this version, it doesn't hold a candle to the studio version. It's a masterpiece. 💗🤘🏽
This is a pretty static, no frills video. Seeing it live with their amazing stage show blows away the studio version. Cheers....
@bazzer124 Agreed.
3 of these 4 guys performed at all of the 1994 Pulse performances (David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Richard Wright).
Great reaction Ric!
Pompeii was filmed in 1971. David Gilmour was 25. 45 years later, in 2016, at age 70, Gilmour returned to Pompeii to perform in front of a sold-out live audience.
Even if you don’t do a reaction to it, try to check out David Gilmour LIVE IN GDAŃSK (Poland) from 2006. Gilmour and Richard Wright perform ECHOES live all in one part (no part 1 & 2).
Gilmour guitar and vocal, Wright keyboards and vocal, Waters on bass and Mason on drums.
someone decided to not cover their shoulders before turning on the camera i see 🤨🤨
David Gilmour on guitar, Roger Waters on Base, Richard Wright on Keys, Nick Mason on drums. Filmed 1971.
Yes. David Gilmour on Guitar and Roger Waters on Bass. Nick on Drums and Richard on Keyboard. Hugs.
Wear what you feel like Mate, It won't affect the views, we are here to see you experience the great music. Love the tattoos by the way, very artistic.
Cool. I like this one too. Hugs
Alex using harmonics brilliantly, unusual song, it has no chorus
And you haven't even heard Rush hit their peak (in my opinion) yet! RUclips doesn't like links, but look this song up off of their 1985 "Power Windows" album, performed at a 1988 show - RUSH - "Marathon" - Live In Birmingham 1988 - New Laserdisc Hybrid Remaster 2023! (A Show Of Hands) Everything you think you already know about Rush, will change and it just gets even better as you go through the years!
These two tracks are such a masterclass of dynamics. I can tell you really felt this one. You really can't go wrong with anything on the Lateralus album for more of this kind of incredible sonic wizardry. If you've already heard Lateralus, then you should dip your toes into Disposition-Reflection-Triad.
Ill add it to the list thank you for the support!
I was ar thus concert, 2112 live that night was awesome!!
The farther you dig into Iron Maiden the more you'll be surprised.
If you haven’t listened to the concept album 2112 you’re missing out
Awesome reaction! Love this band -- it's a shame they aren't more known, but hopefully that will come. I would highly recommend "Brave New World" live at Kulturkirken Jakob and "Slow Motion" live at Gildehallen.
#RedBarchetta 🏎️ 🚓🚓 The ultimate car chase! 🥰🐰
B side of moving pictures is brilliant !
Most Canadian song ever !!
All musicvideos from 2019 (turndown the light on) to the black album 2024 are with violin included: But paralyzed, infectious, erase, saturated soul,a mark on my soul,Lighthouse The heaven in hiding: temptation, heaven in hiding, ghost, chasing shadows and alleviate and so much more ❤❤
Thank you so much, I needed this! I’ll definitely be checking these out!
Another fabulous Rush song! ❤ They do like to solo all at the same time. There is a banger live performance of this song from exit stage left I would like to suggest Entre Nous from the Snakes and Arrows tour. It is a beautiful song that is a favourite of mine. Cheers
Neil is brilliant! I love in the outro how his light symbol or high-hat usage paints a picture in your head of fire embers and peacefulness as the story ends with him dreaming with his uncle at the fireside. It's in the details...
Neil Peart created the drum parts for Rush always with the intention that his performance would compliment the music - whether the lyrics, the peaks in a solo, or to follow the the crescendos and decrescendos in the song. His musical choices were tasteful, colorful, and never self-promoting.
Greatest driving song ever
The entire album is a masterpiece.
RUSH...One of the reasons Trump wants to annex Canada so he can claim them as an American Band...That & his Mt. RUSHmore aspirations...
The doors are a completely unique band. You cannot mistake them for any other band. You need to do The End.
Cars outlawed? Sounds like the times we are living in with the push for electric cars and mass transit.
Awesome!! Love Boston!! Seen many RUSH concerts!!! My Uncle Dick Albert was weatherman for 30+ years in Boston!! Channel 5!!! Love you!!!
That’s pretty awesome haha! Shout out to Dick Albert! Have a great day🤟🏼
True! I think what’s picking up is that heavy 80s synth sound. Stuck on a lot of pop metal bands. Like Asia too. Started creeping in on this LP. Not too much, but otally different from their proggy 70s thru Tom Sawyer synth. I read that it made Alex worry because he didn’t know where the guitars would go. 🤘🏼 And this one’s in my top 5!
This is a great song, and that outro is actually my favorite part of the song. If you ever want to react to the live version from 1981, it's excellent and the outro is extended so you can hear it fully. Also, another live version I recommend checking out is 'The Weapon' live from 1984 in Toronto. It's got a really cool Alex guitar solo.
Sweet, always thankful for the suggestion and direction! I’ll keep this in mind! Have a great day:)
Seriously, there were no misses whatsoever, at least not between 1977 and 1984, a period that covers album nos. 5 through 10. I came to this conclusion because there was one track on 2112 that used to make me cringe, Twilight Zone, although I've become more or less enured to it over the years. As for the end of Rush's consecutive string of studio albums without a blemish, I think we find 1985's Power Windows (no.11). I didn't dislike any song on the album, but I just didn't think its songs (taken as a group) deserved the same A or A+ I'd have assigned to nos. 5 through 10. And as we all know, A- is less than perfect. All of that being said, the argument could certainly be made that there were no misses from 1975 to 1987, which would cover studio album nos. 2 to 12. I could definitely get on board with that. It was just on no. 12, 1987's Hold Your Fire, that the bizarrely corny yet self-serious "Tai Shan" appeared. That stinker was really the only one of Rush's songs that could cause me to hit skip/fast forward. PS - The next time Rush arguably gave us a dud track was on album no. 16, 1997's Test for Echo, whereupon the lyrically-challenged "Dog Years" appeared. And that's about it!
If you want to hear a great example of both the guitar and bass ‘soloing’ at the same time, listen to the instrumental break in the middle of “Freewill.” A top tier Rush tune from “Permanent Waves.”
Thank you, definitely will be getting to this:)
By-Tor and the Snow Dog please.
Very soon🙏🏼
Kick ass jam, one of many that put them to the top of the charts.
So good
