I adjusted mine because of too much slack. It was slacking again within a month. I’ve heard the stock chain is junk. I’m going to try and find a better chain.

Holds true for BOTH sides - both mirror rods on EACH side. They are BOTH - LEFT HAND (meaning the opposite - clockwise to loosen) and first loosen that first top nut(s) - which are also left hand thread (both sides) in order to be able to unscrew the mirror rod. Yes, below that the riser adapter and mounts are right hand thread (clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen)...

Hard to find the right mirrors for large people. The last pair you tried are fine but extends way past the handlebar ends. Makes lane splitting or weaving through heavy traffic hard. They will take a beating in the outback we well. Motorcycle makers don't take the locations of the mirror mount points seriously. Every motorcycle I own has the right and left mirror mounts in different locations on the handlebars. The mirrors are exactly the same but the mount points aren't.

Thanks for the info on the location of the electronic ignition kit. I’ve got a 69’ cb160, it still has points and runs great ever since I set the timing. I don’t really need the electric ignition but with parts getting scarce it wouldn’t be a bad idea to pick up a set. Nic job on the video by the way. Thanks again!

Helpful review by someone who obviously has experience riding off-road and knows what works. Tusk is designed and priced for mere mortals -- which means 86.7% of us. They fill a broad niche and are great to work with. Would be interesting to see a side-by-side comparo of the high-end units: Enduristan, Giant Loop, Mosko, Lone Rider, Adventure Spec, etc then a comparo of the "mere mortals" units: Tusk, Nelson-Rigg, etc. Let's face it, we are blessed to have so many options to fit our needs and budgets in this riding segment.

i rode harleys HOGS my entire life. and i bought one of these and called it piglet. then a sexy little thing saw it and named mine WILBUR. i had to come home and find out why. and now its wilbur. and when i change my chain and tire i'm going to a 3.0 17 tire and a 15 42 sprockets. that is just a little lower gear than stock but larger tire makes up for it. and if i go to a 14 or 13 tooth on the front i really get a lot lower gear. i plan on doing that next month but at 4000 miles my rear tire is still pretty good and i hate to change something not wore out.

Is there anything special about replacing the oil seal behind the points plate, such as turning the motor until all the rockers are loose to see if you can wiggle the end of the camshaft up and down to get it out, or is it simply plucking it out and pressing the new one in place?

You shouldn’t replace those Springs with stainless steel or anything else for that matter. They are specifically tensioned to swing the weights out at the right rpm to advance the timing at the correct speed for your motor. If you replace them your advance will not work correctly Unless they are tensioned exactly like your stock ones which I doubt they will be. Just an FYI.

My main concern is the durability of the connection point of the Tusk bag to the hanging straps. Motorcycles vibrate and bounce even if just in the city. Are the connection points really durable? Good comparison...cool to see the most expensive and onenof the least expensive compared. I agree about the inner bag for the mosko moto. It seems like you lose storage space with a bulky rolltop bag...and why does the inner bag need to be bombproof when its protected by bomb proof outer. Im leaning towards Tusk but worry they wont last. Im not especially hard on bags but do use them often, getti g groceries..sometimes a 12 pack of bottles..thats heavy, and I see them straining the stitching on the old Nelson rigg bags that I bought for 20 bucks. 😁
