I'd love to see more details on your rack. I've been thinking of building a knock off tusk rack as they don't make one for me either but haven't found details on what's needed for the quick release mounts.
Helpful review by someone who obviously has experience riding off-road and knows what works. Tusk is designed and priced for mere mortals -- which means 86.7% of us. They fill a broad niche and are great to work with. Would be interesting to see a side-by-side comparo of the high-end units: Enduristan, Giant Loop, Mosko, Lone Rider, Adventure Spec, etc then a comparo of the "mere mortals" units: Tusk, Nelson-Rigg, etc. Let's face it, we are blessed to have so many options to fit our needs and budgets in this riding segment.
👍👍 i just ordered my 2nd set of Tusk rack/soft bag set up for the 2nd bike ive had it on... that Mosko and or Giant loop bags look awesome but DARN the cost is tripple by the time you buy it all separate...................had the 'pilot bags last time went with the 'Olympus' bags this time for the better attachment system and slightly more capacity
@@andrewtreloar7389 YUP the Olympus bags with how they attach and hold their shape better + of course they are bigger worked out great , i slapped em on and went the following week to do the WABDR with my son
@@justsomedude445 awesome mate. Looking at heading over your way (USA, as I'm from Australia) with a couple of mates to do the GCDR, Mexico and Canada in 2004. This review really helped me decide on the Olympus for travels. Thanks mate!
My main concern is the durability of the connection point of the Tusk bag to the hanging straps. Motorcycles vibrate and bounce even if just in the city. Are the connection points really durable? Good comparison...cool to see the most expensive and onenof the least expensive compared. I agree about the inner bag for the mosko moto. It seems like you lose storage space with a bulky rolltop bag...and why does the inner bag need to be bombproof when its protected by bomb proof outer. Im leaning towards Tusk but worry they wont last. Im not especially hard on bags but do use them often, getti g groceries..sometimes a 12 pack of bottles..thats heavy, and I see them straining the stitching on the old Nelson rigg bags that I bought for 20 bucks. 😁
For everyday grocery shopping use just put a milk crate up top or some cheap Amazon bags. It would be ridiculous to get any of these for what you're talking about
Great review! I have Mosko Moto 35 ltr and just bought Tusk Pilot. Why? Well, on a recent trail ride trip my buddy, with Mosko Moto bags, just clipped a tree. The wedge rack for his Mosko Moto bags broke in half! NOT GOOD! We had enough rok straps to cobble stuff back on. Not something I expect from a premium bag!

Excellent product comparison and tutorial. Very nice rack implementation.

I had Enduristan on my Tengai (KLR650). Did not rate them all that highly to be honest!

Seriously, you can't go past the Tusk Olympus or Pilot for ease of use, ruggedness and value for money!

WHere did you get it for $135?
Part of owning Mosko stuff is saying "I have enough money for Mosko stuff". Good stuff but luxury end of the market.
