Holds true for BOTH sides - both mirror rods on EACH side. They are BOTH - LEFT HAND (meaning the opposite - clockwise to loosen) and first loosen that first top nut(s) - which are also left hand thread (both sides) in order to be able to unscrew the mirror rod. Yes, below that the riser adapter and mounts are right hand thread (clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen)...

Thanks. Just took my new Trail 125 out for the first time and could not see directly behind me. Saw FB recommendations on the Doubletakes but agree, too bulky, and not sure how much additional width i gain. Ill look into the others you suggested. Thanks for taking time to do this comparison

I just got back from an 1100 miles adventure ride on Little Red Donkey. These mirrors are excellent! Never came loose, little vibration AND allowed me unobstructed rear view around my shoulders.

Hard to find the right mirrors for large people. The last pair you tried are fine but extends way past the handlebar ends. Makes lane splitting or weaving through heavy traffic hard. They will take a beating in the outback we well. Motorcycle makers don't take the locations of the mirror mount points seriously. Every motorcycle I own has the right and left mirror mounts in different locations on the handlebars. The mirrors are exactly the same but the mount points aren't.

Wooden box! Love it. Did you make it? Can you show it in more detail? I'm not a wood worker so I would like to see how the corner and bottom joins are done. Thanks.
