Antler Skull Repair with Apoxie Sculpt and JB KwikWeld
This is a followup to an early repair video I uploaded in May 2020. That repair didn't hold up, so this time I'm making the repair stronger by wiring the seam shut after using JB Kwik Weld on the two halves, then sealing it on the outside with Apoxie Sculpt epoxy. I think this will last for many years!

Boat trailer axle spindle repair with JB Weld
Просмотров 15 тыс.2 года назад
I did this repair in June 2021 on a trailer for a 16 foot Jon Boat. The trailer is light duty and won't haul over 1000 pounds. I wanted to use the boat trailer for several trips to prove it was a solid repair before posting this video. A full season later after 5 trips and about 500 miles I've had no issues with the trailer axle, hubs or bearings. JB Weld to the rescue again!
Kill Yellow Jacket Wasps With Shop Vacuum

I had a nest of yellow jacket wasps right by my front door. Wasp killing spray was not effective because I could not shoot the spray behind the wood siding so close to the ground. I learned that soapy water kills wasps by plugging holes in their body that allow them to breath and watched a RUclips video where someone did something similar with a vacuum hose attached to a ladder to reach a nest ...

High Power Rifle No Fancy Equipment Needed

      I wish I could help but I'm no expert. I think you could search google and youtube for "pop camper won't go up" or something similar and find relevant troubleshooting videos and ideas. Even if they are from other camper manufacturers they all work similarly. Most likely something is broken, rusted in a fixed position or cables detached or out of track. The easy thing to do is look underneath and see if all the cables are still there. Next you would have to open up the box covering the lifting gears/pulleys etc to see if anything looks broken or out of place. Best wishes on finding a fix.

    • @silvers74
      @silvers74 Год назад

      Yes I do think it will hold up and by flipping the axle a 180゚ there's no direct load on that spot from the inside of the wheel bearing. And there was plenty of material in the axle spindle before the repair so that there's no chance of it breaking in half and killing someone. If properly greased it should last until the trailer falls apart.

      I honestly don't know. You might get lucky on ebay or one of the marine parts dealers but you'd probably need to know the tool's part number. Dangar Marine did a similar 30HP Johnson video where he had the tool and might have part info in his video. Some of these models clutch dogs have two teeth, others have 3 teeth so there might be different tools depending on that. Someone below made their tool out of 1 inch copper pipe. That or PVC pipe with a dremel tool might be your best option to get the right fit.

May seem not “cool” to others but the rifle needs to be an extension of you not a trophy piece in precision shooting. I've used the DIY tool several times. Unfortunately I've had the pinion break on me a couple of times on this lower. I don't know if it's because the tolerances are off or I'm revving the engine too high rpm too quickly before the gears get worn into each other. I'm going to rebuild it one more time and if that doesn't work I'm just going to buy a replacement lower unit or give up on this project. It's been a learning experience though

    • @silvers74

      As the president of the Alaska Rifle Club I'm trying to encourage more participation. Usually when we loan rifle or ammo it's to Junior shooters or someone who just wants to try out the sport for the first time. People who get interested in it are more than happy to buy their own equipment. If your service rifle will shoot one Moa that's all you need to shoot Master scores or higher and be competitive. The rest is up to fundamentals and practice.

      That screw holds the shift lever assembly. If you accidentally unscrew that instead of the oil drain plug, oil will come out and the shift lever may move causing it to be harder to put the screw back in. You have to take out the shift lever screw to remove the shift lever if you need to completely disassemble the gear case.

    • @silvers74
      @silvers74 2 года назад

      the bolt can be any length or thread pitch. The bolt is the same thread pitch as the nut on the prop shaft (by coincidence). the nut on the prop shaft should not be turned out far enough for the bolt to engage its threads. the only purpose of the nut on the prop shaft is to keep the bolt from "walking off" the prop shaft as you tighten it. I do not know the thread pitch of the prop shaft. I assume it's standard 1/2 coarse thread nut but I don't have tools to measure that.
