Definitely benzodiazepines or antidepressant drug withdrawal. 90% of doctors do not believe in withdrawal from either of these drugs therefore it leaves us alone but there is now studies coming out and doctors that are stepping out to show people that there is withdrawal from the psychiatric drugs that are neurotoxic even Dr Peter Breggin explains how to get out of psychosis without psychiatric drugs, he does not prescribe any. Robert Whitaker Author anatomy of an epidemic goes over this also people that get put on the psychiatric drugs end up with more of the permanent psychosis because of the drug
What meds were you put on?
Psychosis is an incredibly complex symptom. It's very likely that a preexisting underlying vulnerability, coupled with insults generated by the use of substances, contributed to your psychosis. The next eight years will be critical for understanding whether you will convert to schizophrenia.
How many months after hospitalization did it take for you to change beliefs? How do the psychiatrists get someone to see that delusional beliefs are ruining their life?
Thanks for sharing your experience. My 19 year old son has been admitted to a mental hospital yesterday for psychosis. I’m trying to learn everything I can about it. Scared for him. We don’t know who he is. It’s like he’s possessed.
The same disorder East Europeans are having in UK and Ireland. Nobody suggested any "treatment" for humans.
Thank you for giving such an honest and insightful account of not only your thoights but also the physical sensations that accompany a psychotic episode. I've had two as well, each very different. Wonderful to see you so well and confortable reflecting on thst time in your life. Subbed
Your mouth is full or marbles and you are babbling
Can u tell me if you are labeled with a mental illness, schizophrenia, bipolar, ???
I was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 1
If you’re at a sticking point tell us how and what you’re doing. Are you able to work? What is a daily routine like? How important are meds to prevent another episode? -and so forth.
Dr Dominic Sportelli (USA) a double boarded psychiatrist (Danville NJ) says cannabis is a massive contributor to developing psychosis particularly for those who have the genetic disposition .
Psychosis sucks, but i always make really good music when im psychotic! Seriously tho, thank you for letting me know i am not alone.
If spring feels like the removal of a blanket of sadness, then It's probably okay to call it SAD, :p. I'm actually keeping ahead of SAD so far, which is rather a biggy, as I've known it to start rearing its dreary head in anticipation halfway September. This time last year I was waiting to be sectioned, with all the emotional (and chemical) chaos associated with such a thing. I'm inclined to believe that taking vitamin D supplements (as well as re-enforcing sunlight seeking behaviour) has helped provide fuel for the ability to not cave to SAD. Great to see you're not letting it keep you from putting stuff out! And thanks again for the inspiration!
As someone who's yet to be diagnosed of S.A.D. My general psychology in the winter dials up to another level of depression, especially when I don't do anything at all. I go to the gym, run occasionally and try to keep myself preoccupied as much as possible to move through the winter faster before spring comes around again.
Psychosis is crazy
Guess talk about if you’d Tilly ave mental illness and how you deal with it ?
Maybe interviewing with people who have mental disorders and share their stories and challenges in their life.... Or about your daily life,..how your daily life looks like.... I don't know if you have done this type of videos or not, but I can say sharing your experience with different medication you took....they are kind of popular.. Or talking about stigma that you have experienced in your life or within your family member,....
Follow your hobbies my dude, don't feel like you're trapped in a box because you're not, you are free to be able to create whatever you want whether its a fun hobby or you trying something new. Follow the internet trends and possibly develop yourself to try different things in the future. Just for an example, if i were to do youtube I would 100% try some Photography type videos where i show my work my photos and perhaps the process in taking said photos just because.. well why not lol. Even if i didnt do that, i would try and create content around my music production, it can EVEN be something truly simple like short satisfying youtube edits and simple commentary, the options are almost limitless dude. Keep well 🤍
@@RealLeeney Love this! What a great comment, thank you so much 👊 I guess I’m a little conscious to pivot the channel as my audience comes here for mental health related videos. But, it’s obviously still a new channel with less than 1k subs, so why not make videos about what I enjoy!?
@@itsmikemcdonnell I agree with this. You're still starting out, it's completely okay to try out something different. In fact, your "value proposition" of your channel will continually grow and change for the entire time you are doing this. It's okay! Cheers, and good luck in future.
My outlook of it, it starts during depression. People naturally start searching, reading , thinking about holistic or spiritual things to "heal" themselves and suffering and its all they fixate on. Personally I didn't think I was the Buddha but I thought I could be like him. after reading and learning so much about him that deeply resonated with me. This new spiritual insight made so much sense and made me hyperaware about the negative state of the world and how people live careless or frivolous. It culminated to global thinking and the grand scheme of the purpose of life, obsessively. Since these things made me feel so rich and good internally I felt it was my lifes calling and that I understood things other people didn't. I felt I had the solution to everything and suffering due to obsessively thinking about how to resolve my personal and familial problems. That immensely magnified my delusions, even tho I knew it was crazy if I told others, I deeply felt like I was awakened. Like it was my purpose. It completely changes your personality. I even wanted to go out into the wilderness and sit amongst nature until I achieved Nirvana, the whole time It was drastic state of shock of desperately wanting to cure my Suferimg from mental illness. I really think spiritually comes natural bc we intrinsically look for means to desperately fix ourselves. which makes it a galvanizing Gateway that feeds into "positive " psychosis. Then After you break out of it wether it's months or 2 yrs you feel dumb, ashamed, crazy which then triggers another depressive episode due to the aftershock of psychosis you experienced. you're there again trying to escape the the depression and can easily fall back into "spiritual" delusion in effort to escape the pain. Such a Vicious cycle and i see why it's actually very common
What would you say is the difference between a bipolar depressive episode and going through SAD?
Love your shirt

Your videos are great. I have a very close experience with what you went through, as a parent though, so am always looking for great content to give me some ammunition and your content is by far the best out there. Thank you for sharing you have no idea what it means and tbe difference it makes
My dude you realise you live in a Matrix right? It's a holographic illsuionary matrix reality!!
I have never taken any drugs and had some kind of delusion/psychosis
I appreciate you sharing your story. I had my first psychotic break at 24. I thought I was a prophet of god. Most of my psychosis is religious in some way? Maybe because I grew up in a religious family idk. I had hallucinations of demons and that I had to fight them off. When you’re in a psychotic break you’re not aware of your surroundings like you normally are. My family told me it was spiritual warfare at first but even THEY thought I was nuts after the psychosis kept happening. I ended up in the hospital after I was driving and hearing voices telling me to drive off of the road.
You seem very normal.
Im very curious and have a question for you if thats ok :)
Id really love to ask you someting if your up for a small question.
Thanks so much for the response, wonderful to hear the new ourpose in your life, coming out of psychosis. Lots of people around me assume the psychotic ideas themselves are just nonsense, without meaning. Do you find that there were real meaning in your specific beliefs and grand ideas? Would help me in encouraging others…
Thanks for this brother
Thanks for the short!

I hope you're doing good again, going to the hospital willingly is always hard, especially admitting that you can't handle it completely alone. You can be proud of the paths you took ^^
Yes! Thanks for your short on this!
Bro I truly believed that I was stuck in an alternate reality or like a dream and my parents weren’t my parents and I couldn’t trust anyone. If anyone told me that it’s gonna be ok and they love me it was just lies to keep me here longer. It was really scary. I healed tho. But then I watched “I saw the Tv glow” and it brought it all back it was so scary cause that movie portrayed my psychosis and delusions so similarly…(even though I know the movie has a different meaning to it)
I need to dive deep into things I’ve done in psychosis. Ur making me realize how traumatic my times were in psychosis.
True!
Hi, I find it hard sometimes to discern who is who in the zoo owing to all the different perspectives I've had because of mental health issues. It is great when we can achieve clarity and make the decisions we need to.
Very interesting. I know when I am becoming psychotic and most of the time in it however it will cross a line where I know logically a psychiatrist would call me psychotic but I believe I'm not really and they are using these terms to control me. Then I end up in hospital. I only found you just now and will have to look at other videos. Without that knowledge as yet I'd like to know more about your psychotic delusions and how you think and belief now. Kind thoughts from a new subscriber from Australia.
I think we need to redefine our experience and how we perceive others in the sense that maybe the terms that psychosis implies can be misunderstood . I have experienced these kind of beliefs , when i was first diagnosed i believed it was not true. There is always a doubt that maybe it is not true but i think if you take a step back and gain perspective on your situation then you can consider what others are saying, without conflict, maybe not exactly how he said it but with your touch, with your combination of words. Then you will be able to collaborate with them. I think that when we experience psychosis, it is a priority to have a big picture conception of the experience and to be able to consider “what if” . To Not make conclusions or assumptions.
Hey Mike, just wanted to say you're an absolute diamond. Hearing you speak about your experiences brings me a huge sense of relief. A nice reminder that none of us are alone in this journey to wellness. Thank you for your work and please continue. You've supported at least one grateful idiot along the way. Bless!

I lost it after two incidents of sexual assault in one week, both totally unexpected. I was so angry but couldn't prove anything. (One guy was senile.)
I’ve only been in hospital once but it was a really positive experience. Lots of group therapy, good food, and friendly patients and staff. I loved having that time out from real life to just work on myself. Also helped to have meds and time to sleep because i was manic and hadn’t slept in a week.
@@andrewoats This is amazing to hear. I completely agree, very therapeutic to not have to worry about work and be present during your recovery!
I became psychotic for 4 months when going cold turkey off benzos. Hallucinations (audio); delusions etc. Yes, it goes away under certain circumstances. 3 years later, all symptoms gone .
Thanks for this video man
