I feel like I could do with a five-year moratorium on *punk adjacent games.

The problem with making an Elysium-like is that your game immediately gets compared on all fronts to one of the greatest possible lightning in a bottles of all time. You're immediately put on the defensive as people notice all the ways you inevitability fall short of DE. This may change as more Elysium-likes release, but for now I think you got to be real confident in your writing to successfully pull it off.

I love the style on both the supernatural and sci fi parts like how the metal feels like a science experiment gone wrong while the supernatural parts look abstract

Several months ago I played Death Stranding for the first time myself (that being my first experience with a Kojima game overall). It's nice to hear someone else with a fresh opinion talk about it and to hear the different takeaways. Great video!

Kinda fascinating that the critical perspective on any Auteur work - even when acknowledging it as a heuristic in place of the Full Kojima Productions rather than just the man himself - as thematically connected to its place in the media landscape has been THE standard lense of analysis for Nearly all Kojima games (of particular MGS2 and how nigh ubiquitous every review NEEDS to historically place it as subversive to the wider cultural expectations). So in a way, seeing Death Stranding the Game as itself a thematic Microcosm is just carrying on tradition. I'm neither here nor there on how valid a reading it is, or rather intentional or just Critical Projection it's been, but I do find the consistent theme of Protagonist = Strong but Silent vs Nihlistic baby bitch boy antagonist, extrapolated to a nonsense sci-fi existential personified metaphor only defeated by *gasp* the power of bonds (roll credits) to be so constant that it's funny that it's a message shared as seriously introspective like bell hooks and Bordieu to y'know Saturday Morning hero shows, that connnection and love for your fellow humanity WILL save you from an empty end so yknow that really does leave death Stranding...until you let yourself love it and connect (HAH)

Hey my guy, Ive only just finished watching bcoz job kept me from binging it but am i glad to finally do it. To say youve quickly became one of my favourite CCs on here is understatement. Your taste and choice of wording is something I particularly like. Be vigilant and keep doing what you love.

For me is like a it tries to be a satire but dosnt go HARD Enough so end up as parody, SPECIALLY the first 50% of the game, feels more pandering, like those movies of "death race".

Didnt see this one coming from you. Personally. I was a victim of my own imagination and insight skills as i was very hyped over the teases of the game figuring out what its about and at the end that's where i had the most fun as the game itself extremely disappointed me. First i just wanted to hate on Kojima knowing full well how he constantly bathes in his brisk self confidence bordering on Arrogance and also knowing how a lot of his work was made possible with his far less well known co worker and writer Tomokazu Fukushima who opted out when the story got far more questionable. Just like that i sought to pick out reasons to just hate the Guy. But at the end its just on me for expecting too much because i liked the concept and the visualization of it so much that i couldn't see how easily the construct in my head could fall apart. I will probably never get around really liking this Game and its story but i do have respect for those that atleast find something to enjoy in it. I still am not really over it . i wished for far more in the tiny and in the big. But what i can do is to still Enjoy other peoples perspective good or bad on this game. So thats what im gonna do now.

Im sad this video didnt talk about working class woman. She has a name you can learn from annette . Billie mejaen. Annette refers to her as aunt showing he she is connected to the community. I find her story of one of he most moving in revachol, a sort of mini story showng of all the pain of martinase, she is as it says on the tin a working class woman. Struggling to meet ends meet. A mother of two. We can tell the poverty she lives in. Being unable to afford proper blinds and feeding her family with food aid (if you go in the kitchen you can see the same food aid packages as sold by Sileng. Either being one of the people who actually relies on that food aid and recived it properly or being desperate to have bought it from Sileng.) And of course the tragedy that brings you to their apartment. She in my eyes is a representation of revachol. When I discuss with the npcs the future of revachol and cruelty of capital. It is her face. And her tiny apartment and the thought of her two children that I picture. Sorry for rambling I just dont think she got a mention in this video and deserved one. Unless i missed it if so im sorry (The video was amazing btw)
