Garden Update and a Little Rant
I Started out just wanting to do a garden update but went into a slight rant. It was not planned but after seeing lately what the RUclips algorithm had been throwing my way I went a different direction in my monolog. I hate controversy especially when it is drummed up for views. I questioned myself on if I wanted to put this out because this is not what i prefer my content to be. Even if my rant is low key I prefer to be more positive.
I want to thank Matt from Matts Peppers for letting me use him in my rant. While editing I reached out to him to make sure it was ok. I did not want to name drop without permission in a rant. He is a great guy so please visit his site.

    Those store bought cans of wasp killers work instantly and spray a fair distance when new. You can drop the cans in hot water for 5 minutes to boost the pressure up even higher. I had to take down one of these years ago while on a ladder 😳. The spray killed them instantly and they fell out the bottom. I use a 0-50-30 bloom booster on my “special herbs” and throw it in the fruiting peppers while I’m at it as well as molasses, calcium, Epsom salts and a crushed up multi vitamin once a week.

    The elusive KS Starrburst or one of its other coloured sisters is one I hope to grow someday. The seeds seem to be rather elusive. The Bahamian Goat is another one high on the list. I saved seeds from a real Jamaican grown 4 lobed yellow bonnet that I specially cherry picked a package for. Was around 28 grams that I remember. Good call on replacing the earth as you might get a fresh start this way. Did it work out ?.

    A very common way to make hot honey is, cut the peppers in rings. Put them in a jar of honey. And let it sit in a cool, dark place for 2 to 4 weeks. After that you could either strain the peppers out or leave them in. But your honey is done!

      @13Peppers 10 дней назад

      That's a good question. Are you saying the peppers in the vinegar are turning moldy? I have a bottle that is over a year old that the peppers have broke down and need replaced but it is not moldy. If its the peppers that are out of the vinegar then they have not been dehydrated enough and have just enough moisture to start molding. Freezing is always an option to save the peppers before use.

    The Thunder Cacho Brown Pepper is a cross from the Thunder Mountain Longhorn and the Cacho Negro. And it looks like the Cacho Negro pepper because of its shape and structure, you might have got some of those seeds, or the pheno of that plant dominated. The other pepper you have is more like it's Cayenne cross. But before you get the Chocolate Cayenne, the Cayenne strain needs to crossed with the TCBP x. CH variety strain, which was originated in Denmark. Therefore it's probably different in spice and taste, but it might be a unstable strain so who knows, try it....great Video as always...Thanks Ralph 🌶

    • @13Peppers

      I just keep refilling the vinegar until the peppers start to break down then start all over.

    Hate to say this but thats not a datil pepper. Way too large like 3 to 5 times larger. Might be a cross breed with other peppers in your garden. Hopefully you can buy some fresh ones online but they are hard to find.

      You are not the only one who has said that. I have had others say it is. Regardless, I have ordered a new seeds from a grower in St. Augustine FL for next season to check out because I did love the flavor. Thanks for the feedback

    I’m looking to grow either this or the Brazilian Starfish in the future. I like to give a lot of peppers away and most people decline the super hots.

      Both are great to grow. LOL, I have peeps who say they want hot peppers but in the end they don't want to even touch them.

    I just tried my first one of these tonight. A neighbor friend of mine is growing them because he knows I like it hot. My God! The heat was so intense my face started to tingle. The sense of euphoria was so intense it almost felt like time was standing still. My throat is still in a little bit of pain from chewing and eating the entire pepper down to the stem.

    Floral peppers just don't do it for me. Now i have dried some floral peppers and the flower taste disappears which is good.

    This is playing a very dangerous game. Has these peppers get hotter it's going to have a more profound effect on your central nervous system. These things can kill you. They have killed people.

    Haha, nice! Doug hides his pain well. Does he eat superhots everyday or does he just swing by to hurt himself with you sometimes? Ya'll are a good team. I need a friend to eat these with me, no one will though 🤣
