Hi, the seal at 2:33 from the crank, is it mounted from outside or inside of the timingcover? I am from Germany and my 67 Convertible is leaking between the steering pump and the timingcover, so I think I have to change it 😞
chances are its your power sterring pump. not the timing cover. and the pump will need to be rebuit. but if you have it off. might as well replace both seals. i honestly dont recall but i belive the seal on the tiing cover is from the inside.

Any issies once reassembled with alignment? I can see into the bumper along the bottome edge of the headlights and everythings secured
when you are putting the bumper cover back on. under the headlights you have to lift it. they have little tabs under the headlight that support the bumper cover under the headlights to prevent sag..

It's been a few years how's it holding up? I have a bullnose Ford truck I've been trying to clean up the engine compartment, being I have a one wire distributor, looking into a one wire alternator with upgraded amperage that'd be easier for running a radio amp. Nothing big, but I did upgrade to a dual battery setup only for that reason. Just investigating before I end up doing it

Main bearing spun. Common issue in ctsv as they get into higher mileage.

intake gaskets? do you mean the intake manifold gaskets? no need for those. they are resuable. so long as you dont damage them.

Just got a 1982 mark VI with air ride and the 65A alternator isn’t cutting it. I bought a 140A tuff stuff one wire. So your saying the starter solenoid and voltage regulator isn’t needed anymore. Just run a new cable to the battery and ground to the chassis and that’s it?

new install of parts. it happens. burning off oils they uses as protection when stored. hand oils just all sorts of stuff.

I have a 67 Lincoln with a noisy lifter. I did not know one could remove lifters without removing the intake manifold on my 462 motor! Thanks for this video!
I recently attempted this with my own 462 motor. My bad lifter is an end one - the one furthest forward on the passenger side. I discovered that the bore openings for the pushrods are smaller on the ends of the heads which prevented me from using this method of replacing the lifter! Bummer. Now it's on to removing the intake manifold and doing it the old fashioned way...

We did not. Wound up doing a Volvo pump.
With all that oil in the blower, you need an oil catch can.

Did you have to but an adapter for that compression tester or was it the right fit for the spark plug holes right out the box?
When you remove the timing chain cover, did you have the dowel pin intact in your cover? When you installed the cover back on, how did you keep the dowel pin in the cover from falling out?
a thick glop of assembly grease will hold it in place. use some of that. and just dont jar it a round a whole lot when putting it back together.

Question do the top 2 holes where the bracket from the motor goes to motor mount do them 2 holes go into a water jacket?

@LICENSEDTOSEND ok so the bracket that bolts to the block that connects the motor to the motor mount. Do the to top bracket bolt holes goes into a water jacket? Only asking cause I have a dart ls next block and had to switch my bracket out for turbo hot side clearance and when I did coolant came out of the to bolt hole locations on the top. I assume it's a dark block thing but can't find any answers to if I'm right or some how I fucked something up
@@bowtiejake hmmm i would contact dart or the machine shop you got your block from on that.. what i recall when putting my engine together. these are not linked tot he coolant system at all.
@LICENSEDTOSEND yeah I got the block from Thompson Motorsports waiting on a reply back from them. I found it very odd. But the bolt holes are right above a freeze plug. I never had any leaks or problems that's why I was so surprised to find coolant coming out when I pulled the bolts out cause it wasn't till like the last 5 turns coolant came out.
