For the price and condition , i would take it , having the money ! I would move it to a nice marina and live on it. I lived on a boat years ago and enjoyed it !

Hatteras is a good boat ! The length and condition is impressive for the price !

Its listed as a 1980 not 89. That said it looks pretty nice for an older boat, would need a good survey to see it its worth the price.

For a 1989 its in good shape especially the interior. I like the old touch. Remarkable no head liner stains. Engines / Hull are the key. Engines hours unknown would require major engine/s testing. Usually when engine hours missing (hard to do) means hours probably excessive.

I am a USCG license Capt . Sure it gets lots of form stability . What happens with a knock down ? No ballast and a 37 foot Laser ? Looks like a BEAUTIFUL disaster waiting to happen ? Was it ever self righting tested ?

@LarsBergstromYachtsales Sir, 57 yo with no boating experience to speak of. If I pursue getting a boat, I've already determined I wouldn't want anything <50'. Is it possible for a first-time boat owner of my age to get insurance for a used trawler/yacht that might have been built in the 80's or 90's? Even if I bought the boat first, how do you set yourself up to be able to eventually acquire insurance in order to at least be able to get into the marinas? Thank you for your time.

Where are the sails/mast?

As a recommendation, you are panning around way too fast with your videos which does not give the boat justice. Also, the engineroom is one of the most important views that must be covered better. You should not hesitate to climb down into the engineroom even if it is small as the appearance there gives you a better representation as to how the boat has been maintained.

i just got me one of these and its really close inside to this one here.. but i must say i like my layout better. ..lol it was listed for 59g i got it for 46.500. yes it needs a few things once done the boat will be a 125grand worth boat.. i may do necessary repairs and flip it when trump hits his 2nd year back as president.. and things turn around for our country..and economy.. or i keep it its all good ...

Love Nordhavns and Berings. Both are high dollar but an older one like this gets the price in an almost attainable range.

After reading the work that must be done, this is a $5000 boat, IMO.

The website says draft goes from 3' to 10' ?!? Ducks a lot of problems with windward sailing, although still not in a chop. The spinnaker is an unusual touch for a cat.

Pretty overpriced and I hate watching someone enter the boat with his shoes. It's an absolute no go. Especially wearing them in the shower and on the "bedroom" carpet. Poor behavior...
