Do you have a video on your sawdust chain and how you get rid of your waste, also do you have a chipper to get rid of the gun cuts. Thanks for sharing interesting videos.
Sawing a large log like this, going around over and over have you ever calculated the waste from such a log it has to be high.
I have and I'm going to have a video talking about this soon.
@@nicholssawmillandmore Great thanks I've had had conversations with mill people and they gave me a number bark and sawdust in percentage I find it high.
I got a feeling there is alot of waste, or maybe its just me, looks like it
I'm going to have a video talking about this subject soon.
Summertime and he has a toboggan on?? WTH is wrong with todays kids??
I think it was one of those cooling things people where that you dampen.
I could watch that chipper all day 😍
Chippers are cool. Thanks
Yay! Glad it's working. Bill
Thanks
It looks like sometimes you just have to take what the log is willing to give you. It's too bad I live so far away (north central Ohio) or I'd be in trouble for buying too much wood. Bill
That's for sure and wouldn't want you to get in trouble
You didn't price the cherry, I don't believe. 🤔 I already checked, and I am too far away 😭
Cherry 1dollar bd ft. Sorry you're to far away
Great looking boards! I was especially impressed with the log with the rot on one end. Jason, thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks. That log was pretty awesome.
👍
Thanks
FAS has to be 83 1/3%clear cuttings. 1 common is 63 1/3%clear cuttings. 2 common is 50% clear cuttings.
Thanks
@@nicholssawmillandmore Thanks for responding to my comment. That means everything to me and Ruthie.
No problem.
Welcome ants to the belt ride to the chipper....
Hilarious 😂
Looks like you and Mark have some that needs to go down the road. That's what it needs to do. I've been out of the loop so long I don't have a clue what this Jason is doing or even selling. Too much grass to mow. God Bless Yall
Thanks. Yep.
Great sawing like always Jason. The 2nd and 4th logs were beauts. Lots of good grade lumber
Thanks 👍
A true artist can take absolute garbage and make a masterpiece with it. It does not matter what the substance is, the true beauty is contained within.
Sounds about right. Thanks.
That second log was quite Hole-ie, but you still got some nice boards out of it.
Thanks. Yes I got lucky I guess
Extraordinarily cool
Thanks.
Way to tame that beast of a log, Jason. i really enjoyed seeing the edger, too. Was that your debarker guy running the edger? Bill
Glad you liked it Bill. Yes that is who was running edger
👍
Thanks for the 👍
That pretty neat Jason that you got Helle cab and set works with an edminston carriage
I guess so. I kinda have a patch work of several different things. Thanks though.
One of the best videos yet, loved the different view and the nasty log. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
A struggle but successful. Well done.
Yep. Thanks.
What size saw are you running and who’s your mill made by.
52 inch saw. Edmiston carriage, Helle cab and setworks, and mellot log turner.
If it works, it works! New parts sometimers work a little better.
That's a fact. Thanks
@@nicholssawmillandmore Yall too.
The offbearer took an opportunity to catch up on FB.😂
Yep I guess he did.
That old fork was like a cat eating a grindstone and good camera shots. Happy week and God Bless
Thanks, you too!
@@nicholssawmillandmore Chugging along and mowing grass.
Nice job in showing the other side of the saw cab! Thanks!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
That log was a bit of a pain.....
Yep. Thanks
Thanks for adding your sawmill in its intire . What about your log yard , forklifts ,and trucks ?thanks.
You're welcome. Thanks
Tekhnologi yang mumpuni, sawmill, I like❤
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing and bringing back wonderful memories of when I was a young man working in the sawmill,45years back! New subscriber and greetings from Maine!
You are welcome. Very happy you enjoyed it.
Very interesting, a large log like that it's the only way to handle it still better than a band mill
Thank-you. I do the best I can with what I have. Thanks again.
Too much waste in the beginning cuts, let alnone time. Wouldn’t work for me.
It works for me and I work for myself so ultimately I believe it's ok.

How about a look at the rest of the mill would be great
Ok thanks.
good job on the cable stuff...
Thanks!
My father had a top saw and that was 50 years ago
That's awesome, maybe I'll get one sometime.
How come you didn’t have a top saw it would be a lot faster
We just don't.
Why are you wasting your time cutting junk when it should have been firewood
I guess we like wasting time but there was some decent lumber there.
Is there a specific way the cable twist has to go the drum? Nice video. I miss having your commentary.
Yes. A picture is always nice to help remember. Thanks and I need to get a microphone 🎤 for sure. Hope that happens soon.
16:27ISH Do you have a metal detector.
We have a handheld version. Not one that every log goes through.
What a shame that you had no top saw and/or too small of a blade. Too much waste!
Maybe so.
I too hate to see waste in the sawing process but everything considered he did a great job maximizing the yield taking into consideration the limitations of the saw.
Thank-you.
What happens to the big flitches that you send down the line?
The large squares are resawn. The slabs and strips go through chipper. The bds with wane or barky sides are edged.
@@nicholssawmillandmore Roger that. I spent a number of years in local timber mills in my youth and thought that might be the case. Cheers.
Another great sawing video, Jason. How long did it take to change out the cable and drum? Bill
Thanks. Unfortunately it took about a day and a half.
good content, good job
Glad you enjoyed it
Like watching you saw. Not much loss of motion a lot guys you watch are sawing air. Would be nice to hear you comment on what you’re doing.
Thanks. I need to get miked up I guess.
Are the squared up logs going to a resaw?
Yes but actually we do that on 1 of 2 bandmills.
nice sawing ty
Thanks!
Thanks for another great sawing video. Everyone needs to change out a carriage cable once in their life.
You're welcome. I agree!!
Why are your logs debarked sometimes and then sometimes they are not debarked?
Sometimes they are too rough for debarker. But right now the debarker is broken.
