Lauren is correct about abortion AND immigration. People forget Dems had full control of the government for 2 years and didn't do anything to solve those problems. Remember if Dems manage to pass a national abortion law Republicans can do the same when they take power again. I don't think Congress has the power and I don't see SCOTUS overturning Dobbs. Dems would have to take away the filibuster and expand/pack SCOTUS. I'm not willing to burn down the guardrails for an issue that Belongs to the states anyway.

It's nice to hear someone on the left who's capable of talking reasonably and honestly about Trump-related topics. More GOP voters early most likely means fewer GOP voters on election day. However, fewer Dem voters early does not mean more DEM voters on election day. I think many DEMS moved over to vote for Trump. Certainly more Dems voted Trump than Republicans voted Harris.

On the Trumpmdide of things, one of my concerns is whether there are Democrats who changed parties in order to vote for Nikki in the Republican primaries and never changed back to Democrat. I've not heard anybody talk about this. We know the Dems told their people to vote for Nikki Hayley and in some states had to register as a Republican to do that. If they never switched back, then it could explain why early vote Republican numbers are up so much and the Dem numbers are down. This also explains why dems are confident

Here's my read of the Campaign Confidence Tea Leaves. I see on other channels knowledgeable and expert pundits with inside connections into both campaigns who say exactly the opposite- Harris is hot and the Trump campaign is filing for unemployment. I'm looking at the candidates over the last several days- Harris is full of energy and having fun (despite what the 3 of you say). Trump looks awful and rundown. Also he's still lying about the "crowd" sizes at his rallies. Kudos to the camera operator who did a pan of Trump's rally of a mostly empty area in Greensboro yesterday.....with Trump speaking about how big his rally crowds are. His campaign is flailing and trying to find its footing since about 2 weeks ago. Then there's the Selzer poll which has to be pretty bone jarring to Trump's campaign. Even if its 6 points off in Trump's favor, it's still a grim number. Finally, after 2016, no Democrat is going to show any real confidence. "We think we can maybe win" is about as much as you'll get from a Democrat. On the flip side, the Trump campaign is exuberantly confident that they won the 2020 election. Just give them one more election lawsuit.

Trump HAS outright said he won’t ban abortion or IVF. I don’t see why Trump would risk losing pro-lifers by saying those things unless they were true.

As a conservative, I have to be very, very cautious with whom I open up to. We can face genuine, costly repercussions for being honest about who we are. It's ironic that in a society which claims to value authenticity and inclusion, only some people can be authentic.
