welcome to the weird world of the PPG Wave - I own and have owned several over the years and this is one aspect of the Waves that's the hardest to replicate on even Waldorf synths. Highly unusual - I remember being rather confused and amazed when I first encountered this behavior upon the purchase of the 2.2.

I like it but i would not trade my Kyra for it. Rediscovering old PPG myth's is fine. I prefer new technology and new inventions. Its just another good Budget rip off.

again many thanks to another insightful demonstration. These envelopes have a really short attack, which we appreciate in the PPG wave synthesisers. The slow attack and long release was something I only rarely used with the PPG wave 2.2, and it appears that the Behringer wave can do it as well. Very good demonstration, tom noise. Also, very good handling of the filter resonance. The right amount at the right time.

I think it's a bug, after you release the key, the attack should stop

Yeah the character of the synth is quite different to say something like the wavetable synth in Iridium... quite buzzy and organic.... absolutely lovely... how is the key action on this thing?

Another great appetizer for the Behringer Wave. With any luck mine will arrive at the end of the week or so. I am really enjoying the videos you have made about the Wave. I’m particularly interested in how slow things can go as I like long droning type sounds. Does the LFO get to really low and slow rates? I’m hoping that by using multies in the Wave I can modulate individual voices to get MPE type functionality. Thanks for making the videos.

There's always been far more things the PPG could do than the world ever got to hear. That's what makes this Behringer so cool.

This video demonstrates one of the most unusual features on the Wave. The envelopes are kind of quirky and behave differently than on most other synthesizers. Nevertheless, I think it's really fun and useful. Effects used: NI Replika NI Raum Logic Compressor Waves L2

I´ve got my UB-Xa for two days now. It sounds great (I don´t care if it´s the "original" OB sound or not). Regarding the UI I still have to learn a lot. Being no "newbie" on synths the UI of the UB-Xa (and maybe of the OB too) needs some change of thinking. Other synths of mine, e.g. the Polybrute or the Summit, offer excellent UIs making patch creation a pleasure. The UB-Xa has still some pitfalls for me ... therefore this introduction offers a lot of information not mentioned in the "manual" (really, no highlight of the UB-Xa). Maybe the most useful advise for me is how to get back to the "main screen" ... just pressing "COMPARE" two times (simple but not documented elsewhere in the "manual"). Nevertheless the UB-Xa is an awesome synth (with drawbacks regarding documentation) at an affordable price (especially when getting it for as low as 800 € for a B-stock instrument). Finally ... a BIG thank you for your comprehensive tutorial 👍.

Really looking forward to this synth. I am hearing some clicky attack on some of the presets. Is this easily remedied with rolling the attack off a touch?

Thank you for the demo. Slightly misleading though since the Moog was recorded a tad louder and that always sounds "better" to our ears. Both sound good though, slightly different flavours, but close enough that nobody would be able to tell the difference in a mix. And that's where the real music happens. So, I will be buying a Spice when the price comes down, can't afford the Moog anyway 😅

Great walkthrough. Good nod to the wavetable editor / creator. And balancing out the scan through the table is a huge part of the process, and an art in itself. Well done!

Is there a way to create wavetables that are more gradual, like for example the wavetable goes from a sinewave to a sawtooth smoothly?
