    Why is she wearing that clunky ugly watch? Did you see her shaking her wrists when she got up after playing the piece. Hope she doesn't have a wrist injury. If so, it explains why she picked (for her) a rather sedate piece to play.

    These are definitely spectacular performances. Then you listen to de Larrocha and realize why she was one of the greatest pianists in history. There’s that big of a gap, but it’s not that Wang isn’t great. ADL was just beyond human.

    One of the most beautiful piano compositions of Glass right up there with Morning Passages and Metamorphosis no. 1.

    • @prometheusrex1
      @prometheusrex1 6 дней назад

      I like Einstein on the Beach and Glassworks, maybe a few others. However, I think Reich and Adams took Glass' ideas and made something vastly more interesting from them. It's sort of like when the Classical Era started you had to get through the Boccherinis before you got to the Haydns and Mozarts. Ultimately, Glass is rather boring and harmonically uninteresting.

    • @Madaduxum
      @Madaduxum 5 дней назад

      @prometheusrex1 I unfortunately have the opposite problem, I like way too much Glass.

    • @prometheusrex1
      @prometheusrex1 5 дней назад

      @@Madaduxum Sad to hear. Perhaps it's comparable to liking way too many processed foods. Once a person diligently switches to non-processed/whole foods, life gets much better. One can lean into Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, etc., and thus wean oneself from the repetitive and unimaginative drivel of Glass.

    • @Madaduxum
      @Madaduxum 5 дней назад

      @prometheusrex1 Glass isn't have bad to my ears. I've always had a taste for far far more music from baroque, classical, romantic and modern than simply contemporary Philip Glass alone.

    When I first heard about her, almost 20 years ago, I thought -"oh, no, here comes the female Lang Lang". How completely wrong I was, and how discriminating (although, I am part Cantonese). Yuja Wang is the most special pianist, and she will get better. I am thrilled that, as long as I live she will be around playing the piano as one does magic.

    Ésto NO tiene nada qué ver con La composición del Sr. Arturo Márquez. Se parece más a una carrera de velocidad con obstáculos musicalizada, O a una pieza de pianola de cantina del viejo oeste. Yo creía en verdad que yuja wang sabía interpretar MÚSICA con respeto y aprecio por La intención de su compositor PERO aquí sólo me deja ver su desdén por el Trabajo y Los Sentimientos de otros artistas. Y Lo peor de todo es que el público aplaudió una penosa interpretación de algo que evidentemente desconocían.
