I'm assuming her hands aren't big enough to reach a tenth given that she arpeggiates all the large chords, even though the score says not to, or leaves out notes. It's worth pointing this out for people who feel discouraged from playing piano due to small hand size. It's really not an impediment and you can still play 99.9% of the piano repertoire.
I think the comment was aimed more towards the people complaining that her clothing is indecent for a piano recital since it takes attention away from the music or something
Even better than Aimard, who is a fantastic pianist and a close friend of Ligeti...."L'escalier du diable" was considered by Gramophone Magazin as the most difficult piano etude ever written.
In all honesty, Ligeti is one of the 20th century composers that I find unappealing. However, Yuja's comfortable mastery of such challenging pieces is exciting to listen to.
Good performance but technically, the sound at the very end should be held with the pedal until the sound has completely dissipated. You never have to let the pedal up and hear the dampers sizzle.
Do you think that because an artist plays this or that piano music brilliantly, she can take any impertinence and tastelessness? Wang is impudent, and vulgar and arrogant and overrated.
From 6:33 her rhythm is totally wrong, and so so many wrong notes and chords to the point it actually bothers. And of course her pedal at the end is wrong. Yuja Wang apparently did not practice enough.😂
@@dr_booze6106 I don’t think so in the slightest. There are many professional musicians on here, so it’s not a stretch to find someone commenting a specific criticism like this… Yuja is amazing, yes, but she’s human and can make mistakes or have oversights.
This woman has devoted her entire life and superb mind to the realization of these radical musical ideas. Bravissima!
Yuja Wang pianiste d'une excellence exceptionnelle
Extraordinaire talent Yuja Wang ! Fabuleux !
Yuja: your piano is truly just an extension of your hands and talent. You truly are magnificent.I feel genuinely moved after hearing you. Thank you!
unbelievable. This pianist, even for me as a professional pianist, discovers new horizons of music. Wonderful
Well yeah thats what being a prodigy means

Fantastic performance of magnificent compositions - I’m breathless!
Superb; Yuja keeps excelling herself. Thank you Verbier
Yuja it's one of a kind! Great Little Giant Lady!
She is without doubt a very exceptional person.
Any woman who can master these extremely difficult etudes can wear whatever the hell she wants. “Bikini and heels? You’ve got it.”
And if you can't play the piano what are you allowed to wear?
I think the comment was aimed more towards the people complaining that her clothing is indecent for a piano recital since it takes attention away from the music or something
After awhile what can you say? She’s just great.
So gratidão e encantamento 🌹

Ligeti is brilliant!
Rather odd that Yuja takes care so well of this Ligeti Études, isnt it?
Вподобайка 😊
Yuja, GREAT llllllllll
Effetto sonoro commovente
I wonder if/when she will outgrow the limits of a single instrument and start conducting/composition
There are a few pianist composers - Hamelin, Hough but can't see Yuja attempting.

😂😂😂😂
Brilliant!D,nt care about her outfit,please.

The arrogance of this comment is pretty unbelievable. Upload your own version and show us how it's done better. Talk is cheap!
you should be specific about your points so that we can check the music sheet.
He is actually right. Although this is a good performance, I believe that Yutong Sun's remains unbeaten.

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not.
Christ Almighty.
Is she going swimming?
No
well, i was joking!@@JonLeungpiano
Lots of wrong notes despite reading the score!
name one
So little fabric was never! Did the Chinese girl want to go to the swimming pool before or after the concert?
Dunno, however, people would rather hear Yuja than read your misguided rants, for sure
@@eldergeektromeo9868 Exactly, you don't know. You also don't know whether Yuja's fans prefer to read your wisdom or stare at the Chinese girl's legs.
But we know YOU can't take your sexist/racist eyes off them,eh? Ms. COVID played for you yet?
So worthless a life view yo have, Max/Karin/ Hans! Rather like Goebbels, and just as old...
So please explain why you listened.
She must be going to a disco after playing and didn’t have time to change.. get some clothes on..
