Wushu Quest
Добавлен 17 июл 2021
Hey! My name is Ghyslain Kuehn, and I dedicated my entire life to Chinese Martial Arts, (aka Wushu / Kung Fu) with one goal in mind: Becoming the best I could at it.
However, I still feel like I’m only at the beginning of my Wushu journey.
And this is exactly why I created Wushu Quest: To share all the knowledge and experience I’ve gathered in the field in over 20 years (and counting!), with as many people as possible, in order to hopefully help you become a way better martial artist than me!
Let the quest begin 👊

Hi Master,How many minutes have to take rest for each sets....
I wish that the demonstrator had been more vocal in explaining what it was that he was doing for the people watching. I have a couple of years of martial arts experience under my belt, and I can see and understand some of what he's doing, but not quite all of it. Part of that is the camera angle as well, but that wouldn't be as much of an issue if the Sifu was talking about what he was doing...
I've heard a lot of people say the style Tony Jaa used during the drunken fight scene was Capoeira, but I definitely believe it was Dog Boxing.
La première fois que j'entends un Maître révéler le secret de la puissance ancrée 🙏🙏🙏☯️
Très très intéressant merci 🙏🙏☯️
My character, Inuzuka Jaden called himself the Dog Fist
I’m sorry, but this prefacing is incorrect! ‘Chin Na’, would be the ‘Jiu Jitsu of Kung Fu’. Or rather, the ‘Di Tan’, or ground fighting aspect of Chin Na. Or Kung Fu, in general.
Awwesome
My character’s name is Inuzuka Jaden and he is a black Japanese-American. He uses Dog Fist Style Chinese Kenpo and dozens of other styles like Taijiquan, Baguazhang, Wing Chun, Xingyiquan, Jeet Kune Do, Karate, Boxing, Muay Thai, Sanda, Jujutsu, Capoeira, Hapkido, Stick-Fighting, Bōjutsu, and many other styles. He also has his own move in Dim Mak known as the Canine’s Paw, a chi-based acupressure strike that can paralyze a foe’s limbs and/or kill them by disturbing their heartbeat with a single strike to the chest. It can also internally rupture a foe(s).
非常好, 好老師。
I wish there were more lessons like this. I have spent the whole year training resistance, strength, explosive strength, and flexibility in isolation from my Wushu practice, and despite all the effort, I do not see proportional improvements in my performance. I can perform the Pu Bu stance statically well, but transitioning into that stance as low as possible and with an upright torso from a standing position is not so easy; there is a type of strength that I still lack even while training it in isolation. The same happens when I need certain strength and flexibility to transition from Pu Bu to Gong Bu and Ma Bu, for example. Classical excercises aren't enough. As you say, they should incorporate wushu principles. I hope I can get that flow from this drill. Thank you.
I am a martial artist and I am making a mission to learn dog boxing so I can teach it to other people. I live in New York so I am sure I can find a teacher somewhere in China Town 😁
At a tournament! I’ve entered, did a Dog set 😳non of the judges ever seen it! Except a Gung Fu master, knew! But wasn’t judging 😬
Pourquoi tu parle pas en français ?
@@jeanorthodoxe8164 parce que ma chaîne est et a toujours été en anglais. Aussi, 90% de mes followers sont anglophones. Toutes mes vidéos sont sous titrées en français dans les options
He doesn't know a damn thing about bullets! He needs to try his crap in Chicago's South Side or in East L.A., and he will learn what Bruce Lee meant by "classical mess," the only sensible thing Lee, the media creation, ever said about kung-fu. Nowadays, there are many of these self-proclaimed "masters" who have never even once been in a fight, who have never tested their abilities, but they have endless talking chi (qi). You will never see the very few real masters making little RUclips videos, and they will never show outsiders anything, the way an NFL coach won't waste their time coaching middle-school players.
There is a North and a South but there is no internal and external classification.
Ever noticed that all these "masters" tend to look at the floor and their feet during execution of the style? Aren't they used to look at their opponent, in order to know where the opponent even is? I'm not going to say Bajiquan or any of these styles don't work in combat, but I have to point out that all these so called "masters" have probably never fought in their lives. These styles were created out of NEED to protect oneself. These days, the only need these people have to use them is to make money showing off skills they never really used. My advice is this: dark days are coming, starting from places like Europe. So make sure you learn 10 good techniques, it doesn't matter from which style, as long as you have tested them enough to know you'd be able to use them under strong stress and when you're scared for your safety or life. Learn them well, make them part of your DNA if you have to. Imprint them in your mind. It doesn't matter if it's Baji, Piqua, Taekwondo or Karate (Krav Maga is futile so don't even waste your time unless you want to imitate Master Ken). AS LONG as it works for you.
Fascinating!
It looks cool…I’m wondering if this is the style that the ‘rolling technique’ Guy in the Shaw Brothers movie Five Shaolin Masters fighting style was based on.
My character in the book I’m writing is a master of the Dog Fist Style of Chinese Kenpo. He also uses other styles like Jeet Kune Do, Tai Chi, Baguazhang, Bajiquan, Wing Chun, Karate, Muay Thai, and Capoeira. I hope to turn this into an anime adaptation
Dog Fist is my favorite animal form
Just like how the Monkey Fist Style of Chinese Kenpo involves imitating the behaviors of a monkey
This is my favorite animal form
Thank you for the video, in Peru there is the biggest Chinese community in south America. migration started since 1849. The Chinese community started teaching to non Chinese around 1975. The most popular styles were Hun Gar and Choy Gar (Cai Jia quan). You can find several schools in Peru that still teach Choy Gar. I was always trying to find videos of Choy Gar from China in the internet, but it is very rare, thank you for sharing. If you can please share some videos of the hand techniques and forms, thank you very much.
Why would your opponent stop after throwing one strike at you? Why would he not follow through with his other hand?
I believe that this is a demonstration. He is showing an application of some of the principles in the form. They show defense against one attack without follow up to keep things simple. In real life..of course the person can attack again if you haven't countered right away...in that case.. you can reapply the application or do some other application...but doing that in a demonstration makes things complicated. Same principle in math classes...the examples shown in math and physics classes are deliberately kept simple so that the audience will understand what's going on and quickly get a good grasp of the principles involved.
Very good insight into training. I gained a lot from this. Thank you
I understand you topic but I don't understand how you've got that french/chinese english accent XD good work haha
Haha sorry about that, depending on who I ask, they always say I've got one of these 3 accents 🤣 first time someone says I've got all 3 combined. Hopefully you've understand it all !
@@wushuquestofficial It was as clear as it gets. Would you say that secret societies 've had a bad influence on CMA ?
@@pierrewilliam7119 in my opinion it didn't. In a way, it actually helped preserve styles that might have had disappear nowadays.
@@wushuquestofficial I get it. I feel that it made preferable to forbid CMA to fight against the influence of triads etc, from Qing Dynasty to Communist Era
