Yes but if you’re comparing the two it depends on your needs. Toonsquid has raster and vector tools where callipeg only has raster. I think brushes feel better in callipeg but they have less customization options. Callipeg is extremely tuned for hand drawn animation and it has more complex keyframe options. Toonsquid is easier on the eyes and feels more like procreate. Also callipeg has a line tool but no curved lines like Toonsquid. They’re both really good, just slightly better at a few things than the other.

Unfortunately no but Toonsquid has regular keyframe options so you can get the same result.

I don’t know if you also used the callipeg application that I find excellent and complete. I find that it has more features than procreate dreams and toonsquid. You should try it too.

Same for me. I got back into animation after years and I was planning to shift to mobile fully once Procreate Dreams came out. On the first day Dreams released I realized I would need to stay on my PC to animate until it’s updated heavily. So disappointing

This is true. In my experience they wear down very slowly. I especially think paperlike is a weak brand that damages your pencil over the course of months without much benefit. I’m guessing the grip on different rubber tip brands can vary, cause mine was immediately noticeable and had more resistance than anything I’ve used in 6 years on iPad. I wouldn’t call it like drawing on paper but just less sliding of the pencil.

Officially there’s no date since the developer makes the app as a side project. If you want to use it now you can sign up for the beta immediately in the description. I got in after 3 weeks or so.

I think I reported on it in my last procreate video. Not sure where it’s placed in the roadmap because some were an immediate priority and some aren’t

Hmm I haven’t used pocket in some years. To my knowledge they bring all procreate features to it but later on. Hopefully they don’t discontinue it when they change engines, but they are focused on supporting many devices so I wouldn’t worry

@@unicornpupart for a big feature like rigging or mesh deformation sure, but these are fundamentals that should’ve been there day one, not almost two years later. Meanwhile dumb shit like Apple Pencil twist and barrel squeeze gets incorporated literally a day or two after the Apple Pencil pro is released. I’m using the beta for ToonSquid 2.0 and it’s working great. I’ve moved on from dreams

They’re trying to keep support for as many iPad’s as possible, but newer iPad’s are already getting features that other iPad’s don’t have. Hopefully they continue to support all that are listed on their website.

Maybe if they just released dreams within procreate in the first place it’d have all the tools……..omega upgrade “animation assist” and that’d been where the functionality of dreams lived, neatly tucked away. The more time passes the more it feels like dreams is a redundant app.

@ I agree but I think dreams was made to increase performance for longer animations and to have a better app years down the line. Procreate is building on tons of old code since it came out in 2011.

they can't: I'm a software engineer myself and they have to overhaul the entire Procreate Dreams engine to make it work :)
