Please help, my car is a 2014 Toyota Corolla and I bought more than one Canbus and it does not work and the door opening does not appear on the Android screen and I checked all the settings. What is the solution?
Thank for video. Hello from Kazakhstan Astana
Hi there could you please advise which wire colours you attached on the Subaru and which colour you ground. Thanks
Boy what a nightmare job just to swap out a radio.
The USB/aux module (and cable) in my 2019 Ascent needs to be replaced. I'm ordering the OEM replacement module and cable -- how difficult is it going to be to route the cable from the USB port location up to the head unit? I've seen great videos like this on how to remove the head unit, and I've seen videos of similar Subaru's where the aux/USB is pulled out, but I've yet to see someone showing routing the cable between the two...
I need to get a new everything. Have you got the model # for Pioneer for Subaru Outback 3.6 touring and Harmon Kardon? My MAIN QUESTION is i want to keep CD player- is this possible? 🙏🏻
Hello, thank you for the video! Do you repair heaunits itself? Specifically, I have oil bubbles in between plastic screen and touchscreen, which causes ghost touching everywhere
@Victor-o4x2j no, we don't do reapairs. Sorry!
Toyota vellfire radio steering control please not working help
Your a saint
I have the same radio. No sound, hooked up all the harness that was the multi use one from radio box. All system works like steering wheel controls. Backup camera, just no sound. I still used the starling box what should I do?
Fuck how much shit u gotta talk about
Glad I found this video. It helped me fix my broken vent tab. Thanks
I have the 2017 Prius Prime Plus with the Panasonic OEM Radio. How much is this adapter kit?
I have a 2017 Prius Prime Plus with the Panasonic OEM Radio. Do you have an adapter and how much $$??
2016 Subaru Crosstrek. Issues is the only speakers working are the tweeters on the dash. Is there one connector for the remaining 4 door speakers that could have come loose? Or am I looking at four speaker replacements? No amp installed. Anyone have any tips on where to start?
@pistol_pete23 On models that do not have Harman Kardon, the front speakers are all powered from the same channels. So the headunit output is split to power both the front doors and tweeters. If you have the Harman Kardon system, then something is probably going on with the Harman Kardon amp. Do you have an aftermarket unit or aftermarket speakers installed?
@autoharnesshouse no amp at all. I believe they're factory speakers. I was just wondering what the best common denominator place is to start. No door speakers are working, only tweeters on the dash.
@pistol_pete23 If you don't have the Harman Kardon system, then the front door speakers and tweeters are on the same channel. This means that if only the tweeters are working, then the door speakers are bad.
Thank you. Isn't it kind of crazy to lose all 4 speakers at the same time?
Do you know what voltage your supposed to be getting. I have a Honda Accord Euro (same as Accord 7) and an Android Head unit. On my screen it says key0 2.7v but the sw learning software does not recognize that I am holding down the steering wheel button. Furthermore, the voltage does not seem consistent, it rather turns off and on. This occured after i did a factory reset.
Can you post a link on how to install the factory upgrade kit for the Rockford Fosgate amp and speakers?
Thank you so much for this video, doing a replacement right now, just not sure if I need the Maestro SW for the steering wheel functions, or will steering wheel functions be retained with just this setup?
@3:40 really saved me a lot of confusion. I disconnected these cables during an install and couldn’t not find them. I have been looking for them everywhere behind the dash lol. Now I’m sure they’re probably on the floor or center console!
Which plug is the GPS PLUG Antenna COLOR I would like to unplug it???? THANKS I would like to disable it?
It depends on which unit you're looking at. On the 2019 Outback/Legacy radio headunit, the GPS antenna will be a clear half-circle connector that plugs into the headunit. On the telematics box, the GPS antenna is a small gray connector. If you're bypassing the telematics unit, you should unplug all of the connectors from the telematics module because the other antennas are for the cellular and wifi networks.
Background music is unnecessary.
Can an aftermarket radio be installed separate from the infotainment system?
@@rnranger1132 What does this mean? Are you planning to keep the original screen installed and play music from a different unit?
Can you do an USB input to use a iPod?
Thank you for the video! This looks like a major project to take on. Besides making the modification to the MFD, what other steps are need to have the OEM camera up and running? I assume we need to purchase the OEM camera and View button somewhere, and then connect the camera and button to MFD somehow?
@Bacon-r9r you can use the OEM View button (is available on ebay) or you can use any other pushbutton. The complex part is probably installing the front camera and running the cable through the firewall and up to the MFD. We can help with the MFD modification if needed.
Very helpful. Thank you so much. I would have broken all the clips without this video!!!
Happy to help! If you're gentle, then you can prevent the trouble of snapping them. It's such a pain to fix broken hardware.
What is the recommended part number for the newer stereo system? My wife has a 2016 4runner and wants the newer system, but I noticed multiple part numbers, so I want to make sure she has the right one.
Hi, does the buttons on the left and right have illumination? I installed the same head unit on a toyota fortuner. But the buttons dont have lights even at night.
Did you ever find an answer to this?
I changed my JBL 2.o to a 3.0 with your kit (radio harness and amp harness) and usb adapter, after install usb connection is not detected. how do I fix ? is it a bad usb adaptor?
Nope. Did as instructed. Not a fix for me
Do you think this would work on a 2018 Subaru Legacy?
Yes, this is basically the same install process for the 2018/2019 Outback and the 2018/2019 Legacy.
Fantastic video, fantastic concept, and fantastic explanation. Was looking to do just this, and glad you sell the harness for it, to which I'll get. Question: in addition (or instead) of having an actual switch to turn on the front display, would it be possible to install a relay switch such that it picks up the power when you're in reverse, and keeps it on for, say, about 30-45 seconds or so? This way, the front camera will turn on automatically when you reverse, and stay on for the presumed duration of you trying to park.
I'm glad you found the video helpful! The circuitry that we add for this function is basically just for the switch that turns the camera on/off (for the MFD displayed option). I suspect that you could do something with a relay to momentarily tap the front camera button when you shift into reverse since it's just a pushbutton. Once you tap that button, it should stay on for at least 30 seconds until it automatically clears. (at some point, the screen times out and goes back to the other screen)
I installed an aftermarket radio and kept the original starlink unit attached but my front speakers still don't work, what's up with that?
It sounds like the DCM/telematics unit may not be completely connected, or the fuse for the DCM could be blown. The telematics unit must have power to pass the speaker signals through.
I tried this but I do not have a "GPS Check" setting in the hidden menu. I have the JBL version. I cannot run Android Auto because it is saying the date/time is incorrect. Any ideas of how to set the time?
I think we talked about this via email but I believe the issue was that the navigation unit wasn't installed. If you're still having trouble with it after installing the nav unit, please let me know!
@@autoharnesshouse hi I have the same issue with the JBL unit what is the Nav unit you mention? Please help, thank you
@@autoharnesshousealso everytime I turn the car off it says ACCESSORY on the dashboard and won't lock the steering wheel
@ivanmorac It sounds like you may have something wired wrong. Please email us with pictures and details at inquiry@autoharnesshouse.com The navigation module is the box that sits under the headunit and is mounted to the same chassis. It's what you have for the onboard navigation (or if you don't have it, this could be your problem)
I would like to swap steering wheel buttons, because mine hasn't got the voice assistant dedicated button. Is there anything I can do?
Awesome video thanks
My head unit has just started acting up due to the "ghost touch". It's out of warranty by 400 miles (oh the luck). If I replace the head unit with an aftermarket, what becomes of the backup camera and steering controls?
We can retain the backup camera and steering wheel buttons with our adapters. It's easier to do with a Legacy or Outback that doesn't have Harman Kardon, but we have done it for several models. Please email us!
Bypass plug IS a solve for the Parasitic Drain lawsuit! If you have an after market radio Subaru’s new extended warranty for the parasitic DCM box will NOT cover a DCM replacement or bypass box.
Do you advise penetrating oil on those screws holding the Starlink DCM unit in? I'm dangerously close to stripping the heads.
I haven't used penetrating oil and I've done many of these. If you use a screw driver with a big enough head, you can press in hard. And it will break loose. If the screw driver head is too small then it will strip out. You can use vice grips on the screws (yes, there is enough surface area to do this) if you don't want to press in or if the screw head is already stripped out.
@@autoharnesshouse thanks!
Se puede realizar el mismo cambio de stereo pero que ambos sean JBL ?
Could you just leave the Starlink unit in place?
I change my 2.0 to 3.0 but now i lost the vehicle icon so i cant reach the maintenance page on the screen. Any solution?? Thanks
Thanks a lot man finally something to get rid of this horrible starlink crap
Yes, and now it won't drain your battery if it doesn't have cell reception!
Got it figured out. Thanks.
😂😂 yall if you're making an instruction video DONT ADD BACKGROUND MUSIC your guy is already not camera friendly his voice sounds like a scared child.
I have a 2019 Outback with 8 inch screen. Dealership is asking for $2000 plus to replace it. Is the screen in the video 6.8 inch or 8 inch. Where to get the 8 inch screen from?
The unit in the video is a base model, but I think it may be the 7" screen. The issue here is that these screens delaminate...it's basically a common flaw/failure point so you can't find many used ones and if you do find them, it's hard to trust that they won't have the same failure. We usually recommend converting to an aftermarket unit. (which can be done in most cases for $500 or less)
Hi friend, I have a project to change the stereo of my 2010 Toyota 4runner for a 2024 stereo, the same one in the video. I want to know if it is possible. I know that physically it is, but I don't know electronically.
Im planning to do this too
We can help with this. It's a bit more complex if you've got the JBL/Nav system in your 4Runner but we can basically custom build an adapter to make this work based on your vehicle specifics. Please email us! inquiry@autoharnesshouse.com
What happens if the radio does just slide out... feels like something is holding it in tight even with all bolts taken out
Usually it's those HVAC cables that are holding the unit in. Did you disconnect those?
@autoharnesshouse yeah I got it all hooked up now thanks to this video.
You guys are rediculous, complaining about the stupidest things, this guy saved us a lot of trouble, so zip it 🤐
Do you me keep xm with this?
Yes, XM radio can be retained. Usually the antenna plugs right in without any modification. Sometimes the XM radio antenna connection is in a different spot on the back of the unit so we have to use a short extension to get it to connect. Please let us know if you need this!
Dang, i wish i found this before i hooked mine up in my 2010 Accord Lx. Could i just splice in before the connector from the car?
You can probably just splice it or if you know what you need, email us and I'll look to see if I can send you wired pins to slide into the connector...that way you don't have to cut up the factory wiring (inquiry@autoharnesshouse.com)
