Thats the choice, different antennas for different results hence the video. You will more than likely be running "rhcp" antennas. On goggles and the drone, they have to match whatever is on the goggles must be on the drone. From factory tinyhawk 2's have no connectors on the drone, this is removed and soldered direct. This video shows installing a "ufl" plug instead of direct solder. This is a very difficult job and not essential to upgrading the antenna. The new antenna could be direct soldered easilly instead. The antennas come in "whips" "dipoles" "patches" and lollipops i sugest watching a video explaimg antennas for more detail from j Bardwell but in this video I use a micro lollipop as lollipops are omni directional and so transmitting in a 360 degree field as opposed to directional. I use omni directional on the quad and on my goggles have 2 omni directional one patch "directional" and a coil "long range directional but small field. Which connector for both goggles and quad are specific to the goggles and the transmitter and so these have to be known before buying research this through an fpv antennas video for compete clarity.

I understand the point, but is so boring to always do research for anything in this hobby, i'd like to have a friend that knows everything like you and getting help in real lif e lol lol anyway, why you chose plug instead of direct solder? to change antennas in case it does not work good?

@@swimbeyonder the small quad antennas come with micro ufl connectors and the same on a lot of the vtx transmitter boards so it just made it easier for the future but on this quad there is no actual need for the plug and direct soldering is way way easier and a solid connection.

@@Stevieboyfpv can you suggest me a solderable antenna for this same drone? And by the way mine is the freestyle version 1 with only 25 mw vtx..... It has very limited range... About 30 m

yeah i wanted to get one but the issue no one did tutorials on how to install it i'm new to doing the hobby in real life but i've dont the hobby on sims and have 300 hours so I have tons of experience on flying but not that much experience actually working on FPV drones@@Stevieboyfpv

only problem i have with that is i dont have a tutorial on how to put it in@@Stevieboyfpv

A solder sucker

I've had no problems but apart from demonstrations of it floating and taking off for people and flying it in the rain im never intentionally dunking it. For me it was the confidence to fly in the surf filming without worrying about one slip or splash being the end of the drone.

@@StevieboyfpvGood to hear. And since you didn't mention it, I guess you didn't have any issues with the camera overheating either. BTW did you wash the drone out with fresh water after that initial test run? Or was it no issues at all with salt water after all that waterproofing?

On one of mine I left one of the mics still connected and so it does but all your hearing is prop noise

Yes its possible it shows you how and where to wire in the flight controller diagrams. You can find them on geprc's website or they come with the board on purchase

Pretty sure mine is a 150mm you should be good to go! 👍 the back end doesn't actually submerge, only on heavy landing for a split second or being rolled over on the waves untill it self rights again. Good luck with your build!

Without it in my hands its hard to say if the heat shield removes id maybe go that way, you have to be sure you get a perfect seal or its game over, at the same time its completely possible to make it work without removing the shield . Tough in the moment call I think good luck!

Use what ever flight stacks you have your most knowledge on or preference. Personally I do not get on with mamba stacks I have my best results and longevity with iflight stacks and geprc aio's

Rssi is your rx signal from your controller to your quad. The antenna upgrade in this video is the vtx antenna for your video they are not related. Check you have not touched any other solder points or created any bridges between solder points or that the ufl plug on the antenna isn't twisting and touching something it shouldn't creating a bridge.

Yeh no burnouts, no experience with the thumb Alfred Kim has done a lot with one a while ago though. Elrs is a good choice though.

I bought a tinyhawk, then thawk freestyle Then a mino cinewhoop new that needed repair spent loads getting it to a shop twice for them to screw it up because I was scared to screw it up, that forced me onto the soldering iron.....it wasn't the best but I fixed it. Now I have over 20 and have tutorials to help others build and fix them. If you mess it up....you fix it thats fpv so don't worry and thats the point of the tinyhawk series I created as you can learn with a small cheap drone 1st

Geprc has the cli dumps on their site choose the one witu your rx (crossfire elrs etc) and load it up or have you built one with a different set up?

It has an internal core for the information and a latised external core for earth so I wouldn't solder it together but you can just solder the lollipop antenna to the pad the original antenna is attached to no worries. Separate the core from the grounding sheath solder the core to the single pad and the ground sheath to the 2 outer pads 👍

You should be able to tick the rssi box in the osd (on screen display) settings in betaflight

Make sure your bat is plugged i to the drone and make sure your reciever setting is matching what your using crossfire, elrs etc

You want the ones that poke through the prop about 2mm just under enough to just clear the thread on the bell but not so long they catch the copper motor bindings

Yes just copy the components from the cinebot 30 and follow along, then use the geprc cinebot 30 cli dump instead of the 25 and you should be all good 👍
