I’m curious, how would you translate john 14:17 from greek to english, and from greek to spanish. thank you
Then how does John 1:1 read as a professor in ancient Greek
I studied biblical Greek in seminary but would like to read it with a modern Greek accent. Are you willing to do a video on a short book like Jude (not using a modern Greek Bible translation)? But, use something like the Nestle-Aland 28?
😀😀😀why are you turkogreek so ignorant Homer was pelasgian in the original book of Homer the greeks didn't mentioned at all if the Homer was greek and wrote greek then why modern greeks translated Homeric language from Albanian in greek and why greeks don't use the named Achilles ΔΙ Ι ΣΩΤΗ ΠΛΩΤ ΔΙΕΛΛΙ Ο ΑΤΑ Can you translate me what does means these words
enough idiots lie so much the ancient greeks never existed the greek term didn't mentioned at all until middle ages 😀😀.how do you turkogreek taking abaut the ancient greeks when until 18th century the greece name didn't existed in map is a fake state created by great powers 1832 the history of greece is fake manipulated by priests

Great video! I intend to learn Ancient Greek and this video encouraged me even more. Do the writing and pronunciation shown in this video refer to Ancient Greek or Modern Greek? Are there differences between the two versions? Thank you again and soon I will be your student. My native language is Portuguese, but I will try to communicate in English.
Hello! This is the Greek alphabet. But there are no big differences between the two. So if you know the modern Greek alphabet you know the ancient Greek. The letters are the same. The differences concern mostly the difthongs and the accent marks...
😀😀😀 why you speak without documents and without fact the greek term didn't mentioned at all until middle ages you lie so much the ancient greek never existed the greek language created by church koina greek and was spoke by church in Homer's Iliad the greeks didn't mentioned at all look the documents idiots and don't make fake history
Just so you, I really love your channel

Maybe there is a video on youtube. I am not sure...

Yes, I did a short video that's why...
Concerning the word “πάντα” I always thought that when we have a word with the ντ next to each other, that it made the d or the th sound, and not the n sound. But here you pronounce it “pantha,” or “panda,” vs “patha.” So cool! Sorry for commenting so much! 😂 I’m learning so much and I’m excited! 😂
Feel free to comment as much as you want and share your thoughts! This is how we all learn something new...

@@TheProfessorwiththeBowTie You’re very welcome, and once again thank you!
Thank you madam.
Filologos, examples... But no subtitles 😢. Such a beautiful language
Quick question: since you no longer have the dative case in the modern Greek, how do you communicate an indirect object? Do you just use prepositions like προς or εις with the accusative ?
Very good question!! I will answer it with a video... Thank you!!
Yes I heard of that and I think thats the best phrase. That realy signifies the idea of "know thyself".
Thought it was pronounced like hüdor in Ancient Greek.
Yes, according to erasmian pronunciation...
I have a question, a strange question. The question is regarding the letter J and the Greek language. We can look at Erasmus and Tyndale and can see they used the letter J. One could say they are wrong, however the occultist that push the name "yeshua" which is NOT Jesus. Rather it is a cruel joke to get people to worship a demon named metatron aka "the prince". Jesus is a king and warned about a prince. Now back to the Greek language, we can see modern Ιησους would be pronounced "ee-eh-sus". Now for you as a native Greek will likely be like "interesting, but don't think they would be that slick to bambozle a country." But the interesting thing is in old Georgian they had the J sound and Armenian did. However, with Armenian Jesus is pronounced "Hisus". What is very interesting with countries/ languages that adopted the Bible it appears they played a game of rotating j, h, and y. Looking at the ι and Ι we can see the lower case appears to be a backwards j. Is there any time lapses in the language which they could have pulled this off that you know of? (I know this is a long post and appreciate you and your time)
A potentially more specific explanation is that the final n, just like the final m, in Classical Latin was nasalized, to the point of just not being pronounced except before a vowel in an inflected form, as shown in your declension chart of that name in Latin.
Τελικώς, αυτοί οι λατίνοι μας έκαναν τη ζημιά! :) Και να 'ταν μόνο το τελικό «ν»... (εδώ τον Οδυσσέα τον έκαναν... αυθεραίτως Ulixes!) Λογικά, σε όσα ονόματα αρχαίων οι άγγλοι διατήρησαν το τελικό «ν» είναι αυτά που πήραν άμεσα και όχι διά μέσω των λατίνων! Γιατί στο παρόν βίντεο η εικόνα (σου) είναι πολύ μικρή αντιθέτως με τα προηγούμενα βίντεό σου;
Can you discus the ancient Greek letters that were abandoned and why, like the F that has a W sound and the Q like letter.
@@grk70s Very good idea for a video! Thank you!

I'm so confused. Greek isn't supposed to have a schwa vowel but she used the schwa for the first O in Demokritos. She didn't say "oh". She said "aw" which isn't supposed to be a Greek vowel.
First instance was not supposed to be greek pronunciation
Μπράβο! Τι να πει τώρα και ο Άδωνις
I've got one problem, why does morden Greek sound spanish? I'm trying to learn(ancient) Greek not spanish.
Because the Western world was taught Greek mainly by Erasmus during the Renaissance, it was natural for there to be many misunderstandings as to the correct pronunciation of the letters, because he himself had never heard Greek. So since the Greeks were absent, this mistake grew and took root as right. But who knows the language better than the people themselves who have kept it alive for at least 4000 years? Of course, I do not argue that everything has remained unchanged over the centuries - that would be unnatural - but the terrible barbarities heard today by would-be "Hellenists" are something we are now forced to constantly fight to correct. I will end by saying that Erasmus himself at the end of his life - after meeting with educated Greeks - admitted his mistakes, but the damage had been done. Modern Greek keeps the pronunciation of all the letters and the thousands of word roots of antiquity. Some differences in pronunciation appeared with the common Greek of the early Christian years and the church kept the same pronunciation for the next 2000 years (this is our main source of knowledge about the evolution of the language). Yes, we know that the letters that used to cross the point of the δασεία/daseea (Ὑὑ-Ἐἑ-Ἰἱ-ᾉᾁ, etc.) were pronounced heavier (today the same words in English still hold the letter "H" in front to indicate this difference .
Your analysis on the subject is very good!! Thank you!!
Guys is there any similarities between Dacian (modern Romanian) and ancient Greek language? Because I understand from 10 ancient words 4 😮 so daicans and Greeks are not brothers???
there are so many things wrong with this. If you are a philologist, linguist, and use ancient greek to determine the sounds of another ancient languages, you can NOT mix it with modern greek pronunciation. Yes language evolution is normal, but the point of learning a language's ancient form is to reconstruct it, pronunciation included (as much as possible)
The ancient Greek writers were quite explicit in stating they inherited their launguge from the Phonecians! Has that link been explored? Between Proto Phonecian and Greek?
Thank you! I love these. Can you do names from the Iliad? Such beautiful names.

Very interesting!! Thank you for sharing it!! 😃
