My jaw literally dropped. I've been seeing the characters around, and I always thought "oh interesting, so many new anime coming out", but to find that Eida and Code are from Boruto.... I feel the show itself has lost too much of its original identity that had already started unravelling during Naruto Shippuden. I don't mind Boruto trying to carve out its own path but I feel as though they should then have widened the gap between the end of Naruto Shippuden and the beginning of Boruto waaay more. Like, Naruto should have been a grandpa or something😂😂

Character concept artist here too - HARD CORE agree with you. Boruto and blue vortex feels LOOSELY inspired by the original Naru/Shippuden but not like it should be a sequel in the same universe

I agree the designs are a mess, but I have to point out, Eida and Sumire do not fight in the series. Sumire decided to stop fighting and go down a scientist path, and Eida is there for her clairvoyance and does everything through conversation, she uses her little brother's power to keep her safe. So there are so many better choices to go after when talking function in a fight.

To be fair its hard to change things due to tradition and the like. It would be hard to change the style of everything even when adding flat screens and such. Then you have Konoha cratered by Pain and all of it gone allowing for change. Followed by a uniting of everyone with a focus on building and advancing rather than fighting that was likely stalling everything even if they already had the tech there from being spread or mass produced. Snow/Spring had those super suits, blimp, kunai launcher train, etc. The tech is there for the most part just not so focused. They finally got a reprieve from crap going on and focused on making everything as advanced as they could take it with what they've got.

What I love about his character is despite being raised and treated like a weapon his whole life, when it came to his students and his friends he never saw them like that, riko was the star plasma vessel and seen as just something for Tengen to merge with, gojo was adamant that she gets to have a choice on what she does with her own life, when she got killed he was determined that no other kid was ever put through that because of the Jujutsu world, that’s why he stopped Yuji and yuta from being executed because he believes that no kids should have their youth taken away from them like he was and what happened to his friend riko. He also genuinely believes in his students being able to surpass him one day, and genuinely cares for them. It’s a shame the world saw him as just a weapon and not a person. Despite being the strongest he still couldn’t save the people most important to him, riko, geto, nanami, yaga-sensei. Just goes to show that being the strongest takes a toll on you

I remember trying to give Boruto a chance and the thing is I did find myself liking it but I got burnt out from the anime because of the amount of unnecessary filler/anime canon out there. Then I opted to give the manga a go since I heard that its better than the anime. The thing that just not only pushed me far faaaaar away from the manga but just killed my interest for it was Sarada's character design. I don't know why there is just something about it that grinds my gears and just forces me to dislike her which is just sad since I really liked her in the anime instead.

I realised Kishimoto has no idea what tech exists in Naruto when I was watching a series where people were sending telepathic messages, summoning animals to travel back and forth through portals to deliver messages...and Might Guy pulls out a radio and headphones. I get it he cant use advanced jutsu's but a radio would change world wide communication. It literally flipped everything in our world and its treated as something you give the person who can't use jutsus.

I remember how once I wanted to explain Raph to a friend and it wasn't until then when I noticed I have analized pretty deep all the brothers but him, because I am an older brother myself, I somehow just understood, I'm not like him, neither personality or body, but I just understood. His power made sence to me, he's the older, the biggest, naturaly adopting a softer personality in contrast of how he looks yet also naturaly developing a power that allows him to use himself as a shield cause he's big, his brothers can rely on him both physical and emotionaly. I think that's the easiest way for me to describe him. I'm not him, I don't believe myself to be able to do and act like he does, yet, as an older brother, I simply understood how and why. I also kinda though about my connection with 2012 and 2018, like- I was skeptical about 2018 but fell and got obsessed with it fast, and I wanted to kind of know why I left behind 2012 that easy, I believe is because of the brothers dynamic, in 2012 they were raised as fighters and that they had to be a team more than brothers, I barely remember the brotherly moments between them and mostly watched it cause I liked Leo xd. Yet I still was skeptical of 2018 changes cause I grew up with 2012, but as soon as I saw them being brothers all the time it melted me. In 2018 they actually grew as brothers and their problems seem more emotional towards each other more than just team work problems, and that's what was destroying me in the movie, Leo being called out cause he wasn't doing well leading the team, and Raph reacting to thi similar to how 2012 Leo would. Is not me saying that I didn't liked it, is me saying how much on an emotional edge the movie had me and I believe that that's why I have a stronger connection Rise

As a Naruto fan who grew up watching the show and growing with it through Shippuden. I was always curious of watching Boruto but had heard a lot of negative yet positive feedback leaving me mixed and hesitant. I had initially watched the first 3 episodes on release of Boruto but never continued to let it build up. But after watching this video, I will not be watching Boruto, it has unfortunately changed the Shinobi world for the worse IMO and It's just not for me personally. I respect if others enjoy it of course but everything that I loved about the original seems to be dead and gone. Oh well.

Honestly i expect for the turtles to be different in every reboot, it’s canon that there are multi universes out there of them, it’s stupid for people to hate rise just because it’s the most drastically different. I thought the show was pretty good, not great, but that’s cause I only got 2 seasons and a movie… I wanted to get another big bad, get to know CJ JR and see if they can get him back to his new timeline, see bishop and usagi, and how the Krang has changed life in the new time line. I dont like Boruto and the primary reason is the setting. That being said i dont agree with a lot of this. In OG Naruto it feels like the girls in that setting would actually attempt to make themselves more fashionable and distinct despite being ninjas. In small ways they actually do. I think its good that there is a bigger distinction now between the male and the female characters. I just dont like the setting. Thats all. If i was the designer i would have designed every character with 2 outfits in mind. 1 for the village and 1 for combat missions. and they would have spend about equal time in both outfits.
