This is an excellent comment for those able to tease out the rewritten sequence for the unproduced Star Trek: Planet of the Titans (cancelled 1977). This film could have been a highly educational first Star Trek Motion Picture.... had it not been abandoned due to the fact that costly rewrite delays pushed it past the May 1977 debut of Star Wars Episode IV. Here's my description of how it would have looked with visuals from the mind of the respected Star Wars and Trek artist Ralph McQuarrie. Enterprise emerges from a journey through a black hole to be pulled, uncontrollably, toward an ancient devastated Earth back in time. Kirk orders a saucer separation leaving a portion of the crew in the stardrive section. The saucer section then lands on Earth in a graveyard of other starships way more advanced than those of Enterprise. After introducing FIRE (see Greek Prometheus and Sumerian Enki) to the prehistoric humans living on Earth at the time, Kirk and his crew are effectively revealed to have been the legendary Titans.... which is a concept introduced back in the Original Series in the episode Who Mourns for Adonais? I have to be careful, because here in the United States the colours are reversed from the UK. In the US the liberals (and many moderates) are color coded BLUE with the conservatives (Tories) color coded RED in parallel with the uniforms of the Age of Enlightenment Revolution. This is because France provided BLUE uniforms to the Continental Army while the British Regulars were in their traditional brazen RED. That said, I think Churchill was ~somewhat~ more PURPLE than failed current Tories like Truss, Johnson, or Sunak. We know Churchill had actually defected from the Conservative Party to the Liberal Party in 1904 and remained there until 1924, just after the very first Nazi Nuremberg Rally in 1923. In contrast to some others, he could read what was coming and that shows foresight and planning... not merely luck. With the PURPLE coalition government he formed in May of 1940, Churchill was certainly able to work well with the centre-left Labour Party.... and he was supportive of Trade Unions. So if not pure PURPLE... how about MAGENTA? ;) Have at it... the Battle of Britain is one of my favorite topics.

In fact, for the first 5 episodes of 1979's Buck Rogers, Colonel Deering (Erin Gray) is primarily dressed in the classic white battle uniform of the Earth Defense Directorate. One exception, of course, is when she is in the Black & Gold trim with red sash Dress Uniform. Then, in The Plot to Kill a City, she appears in the Blue with the legacy American flag patch on her upper left arm. Thereafter in Season 1, you'll see her in a mix of colors... with the flag patch, primarily because Erin Gray is herself a work of grand art and deserves a variety of highlighting. Then suddenly, in January of 1981 for Season 2, the human military commander of all of Earth's defense forces is visually demoted to a demure presence aboard Searcher and dressed in a sailor fuku (セーラー服, sērā fuku, sailor outfit), as if she is a school girl or flight attendant. None of these details are random or trivial. They are important, inspired symbolism... for past, current and future events unfolding. While I do agree with much of it, this "motivation for academic research" channel operates PARTLY under a guiding principle of ECREEP: Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence or Proof. This is an aphorism attributed to Carl Sagan and Marcello Truzzi. ECREE is often criticized for halting innovation and exploration. So... to encourage continued research and motivation, that principle is balanced here by allowing speculative topics... PROVIDED at least some citation to supporting evidence is given, especially if any direct claims are made.
