My story is that I got this game a flea market but the game was scratched and so it would load the game up and I’d watch the beginning and then once you control the character the moment you go to the next area it’ll freeze. Every time….

We had MK3 in our senior's lounge in high school (and a pool table and a ping pong table abd like 6 other arcade games, and it was right next tk the gym which will come back in this quick story later).... Bubble bobble was somewhat popular in 95/96 when I was there, and people waited to play it, but mk3? My god You'd pray u got there at a time when maybe there was "only" just 6 other people next to play lol... fights over who was next, saying "forget it" if a certain kid or 2 was already playing cuz odds of him losing were slim at best.. I'd get a quick workout in at the gym riggt there, and yell "I'm after so and so!" but you'd see kids FLYING in from the gym when they realized they were up, all sweaty and shti lol... that entire senior year, that game was the shti, crowds around waiting or cheering if those unbeatable kids actually lost lol Loved that damn game

Great list. In my humble opinion, missing: -Strider (bc it was such an early accomplishment 1989) -Maximum Carnage (so hard but rewarding) -Toejam & Earl (trippy and complex for 1991)

Great list! Castle of illusion and World of illusion are on my list. MK3 is fantastic but 2 on the other hand is a weaker game on the genesis in my opinion. NBA Jam and Micro Machines could be mentioned

Wow. This list is characterized by what's absent from it. Good that you got Earthworm Jim, Sonic and a Mortal Combat game (although I would have chosen the original), but where's Toejam and Earl? Where's Mike Ditka Power Football? Where's Ren and Stimpy? Those are just off the top of my head.

yeah back in the day games like final fantasy and phantasy star were my go to games because my parents weren't going to buy several games for me, so I had to pick the RPGs that took longer to finish :)

Had a little survival horror itch so I decided to play the first Dino Crisis for the first time in many years. Came here to see if maybe the sequel is a little less frustrating. I'm surprised and a little disappointed. Not sure if all-out action is a good fit for games with fixed camera angles. I'd rather stick to the original. At least for now. I might end up dropping it soon. The game is extremely stingy with ammo. I do kinda prefer the 3d environments. Prerendered ones haven't aged too well IMO. So that's a point in it's favor.

😂 how can you compare your super Mario/duck hunt experience with genesis sonic? When you “gave nintendo a shot” It was different times different decade. Video games were further advancing when you got a hold of sonic. A proper comparison would be games with Super Nintendo not the NES

Like many other kids in the 90’s this game scared me, I own it again now in my retro collection & play it most times I have a retro session but cannot seem to get past the first boss. Kinda annoying.
