GOD BLESS FIRE FIGHTERS EVERYWHERE. EVEN THE RUSSIAN GUYS. THIS IS BACKBREAKING WORK NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY YOU COME FROM. I WATCH RUSSIAN FIRE FIGHTERS. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. BUT I UNDERSTAND PERFECTLY THEIR FIREGROUND OPERATIONS.
Awesome work guys keep it up there
Good Work! Nice Video! 🔥💪🏼
As always great job Jesse!!!!
You usually drive the tiller right?
@@mikeggg1979 our truck is a tiller ladder, and all of the members of our company are trained in every position on the truck. So we rotate positions every tour and sometimes even every shift depending on if one of us is out sick/vacation/medic unit detail etc.
Out 10 years and I miss the back step ! Enjoy it while you can. I wish they had this video tech when I was on , would have gotten some great footage. Good to be remembered. Stay Safe snd keep on filming .Remember Excellence is the NORM !!!!!!! LOL
Craig miss ya pal

Suarez Advances while the Lt. does the Paca Rana, blocking egress, and jesse ends up with the tip man ! Maybe Jesse should be the Lt.!!!!!! Good Job
What’s up Norm!!
Quick work Boys!
What street was this on?

See quite a few guys carrying pickhead axes in this video, pretty cool to see. Is the pickhead the preferred axe in Philly? My state you rarely see anyone with Pickheads. The little differences on what is carried by guys in different parts of the country is interesting. LA everyone carries a pickhead I believe
@@stephenjake2021 Yea I love the traditional fire axe. Its my favorite to bring to the roof. Some of the flat roofs in our city are 4-5 inches thick, so the pick is great for pulling up roofing material after you cut a hole. I guess some of the newer styles of ax will probably work if you have newer construction dwellings or pitched/peaked roofs, but most of Philly is comprised of old rowhomes. I grab the flathead axe and marry it with the halligan for forcible entry though, the flathead gives you a striking tool combined with a blade that you can use to chop through a door if needed and also doubles as a wedge to gap the door.
@@jesseosada4690 i usually carry the irons at my job, but ive always liked the pickhead. And some guys can do the "baseball swing" method for wood framed doors like nobodys business haha
Does the first due Engine make the stretch for the 2 due Engine, then back them up on the line? Curious to know if that is the SOG for rowhouses in Philly?
@@rgc3900The first due engine tries to get in front of the building if possible for quicker deployment of a preconnected attack line, then the driver will charge the line and stretch back to a hydrant for supplemental water supply. This gives them 500 gallons for a quick knock down until a hydrant is obtained. If the street is too narrow, the driver will get as close as possible and try to get the hosebed facing the fire. Then they carry the bag(usually 3 or 4 lengths of 1& 3/4" attack line) and pull 3" hosline near the front of the dwelling and connect out front. The 2nd due engine does the same but also helps the first due engine establish a supplemental water supply either by helping them connect to a hydrant or they will give them water through their engine if they are already hooked up to a hydrant. 2nd due engine attack line is usually stretched to the rear of the dwelling but they may go to the front depending on the nature and conditions of the job or if ordered by the chief.
@@jesseosada4690 Gotcha! Preciate the explanation.
Bo hoods.. no masks.. these guys are wild.. dont get cancer !!!

Thank you to our P..F.D. members. Regardless of the critics you guys are the best.
Jesse. I am looking to get hired in Philadelphia, like the thousands of other people. How do I increase the chances of getting hired? What was your hiring experience like? I live out of state and need to move into the city for residency and I need as much info as I can.
@@ExtraFreakyBobTv the test today is vastly different from when I took it 20 years ago. We had a study book and all the questions were in the book with some added map/navigation questions. Today half of the test is personality questions, not really sure what they are looking for or how to answer those. I know that if you become an EMT or if you are bilingual it will increase your chances of getting hired, but you still need to pass the fire test.
@@jesseosada4690 I have my FF1/2, NREMT and a slew of other FF certs. I know my FF certs don’t get points added on but I didn’t know EMT helps. Thank for the info.
If this woman cannot hold the saw above her head how can she pull an adult male out of a burning building?
I dont get it. I am a forefighter in the netherlands and we use antiventilation. Get minimal oxygen flow to the fire close everything so the fire will go partly out by itself. Why do you guys increase oxygenflow? It onpy makes it burn harder, faster and hotter.
@@jasperkramer5693 If you study fire behavior or fire dynamics, it will show how it is beneficial. From experience we know from trying to enter a room that is on fire and opening the tip (nozzle) and flowing water into an unventilated room, you create steam and you disrupt the thermal layer in the room. If there is nowhere else for this heat and steam to go then it pushes back onto the firefighters who are trying to extinguish the fire. This causes steam burns and could possibly push the fire over their heads and out into the hallway. We do our best to coordinate our ventilation and break windows as the engine company is opening the tip so that the steam and intense heat goes out the windows instead of back onto the firefighters. The fire will burn hotter for a few seconds as oxygen enters the room but will go out much faster and not push back on the engine company as water is applied. In the case of an exterior (defensive) attack, taking out the windows allows water to be flowed inside to try to knock down the fire.
Philly = Aggressive interior attack. Jasper, we won't ventilate until water is in place. Double house, no problems the engine and ladder Stationed together. Single house is only an engine. We waited for a ladder so we got inventive. Sometimes the driver would throw up the 24' extension ladder. Carried D cell batteries to break windows. Or most often, tipman and officer move to fire, backup man vents with the Halligan bar. Engine. 51, 72, 47 and L12.
You're embarrassing yourself
Did you go to sks?
@@jeffrosano8850 Affirmative! Lol
@@jesseosada4690 holy crap! Your videos are awesome. My Dad was pfd for 22 years and retired in 97. He passed away in March and lately I've been looking up RUclips videos of pfd stuff. I love your videos. I'm going to tell my mom about your channel. Absolutely awesome. Stay safe, brother!

Why no masks?
wow, get those people off the porch
Is this the same building that burned this morning?
How long was this school closed Jesse?
I believe it closed back in 2003
Always enjoy the content! Love the ladders on those porch roofs. How many guys are on a rig down there? Is the officer and force entry man searching in the building while you guys are venting the roof?
We have 4 FF's and an officer on the truck. Yea usually the ladder officer will take a quick look at the rear of the building and give a report to the chief, they help pull hoseline and help with the primary and secondary searches.
Strong work, getting up to the roof looked to be a formidable task
Awesome footage as always curious what helmet camera you are using. Gopro or Firecam?
Firecam 4k
They’re sure it was abandoned?
what does that mean lol? it is a city property
Almost got to end of shift.
Now this is the coolest view I've always wanted to look from was that pov from the driver in the rear of that tiller!!!! Awesome!!!
Missed ya on the 2nd floor Jesse Sah!!
Always nice to see when you post, love your vids. Them Philly boys get down and dirty. We don’t have much row homes in our first due, thank god. Them fires are no joke.
Great job! This was intriguing and educational to watch. Thank you for sharing and your service! You all are AMAZING!
Do you guys have void spaces on the outside walls of your rowhomes? I've noticed that a lot of your cuts in your videos are on the outside parts of roofs.
Yes most of our dwellings are rowhomes with flat roofs built over 100 years ago. They have multiple layers of roofing material overtop wood planks so when the fire spreads through the walls and ceilings it is often inaccessible through the interior even when the plaster & lathe or drywall ceilings are pulled. So we look for signs of direct fire impingement and cut back the roof there to ensure there is nothing smoldering inside that would rekindle the fire.
Nice work as always Jesse.
@jesseosada4690 love your videos. Thank you for your service to your city, just one question, what does it to go in service on the fire ground?
Depending on the size/quantity of fire, the commanding officer will place certain companies 'in service', while other arriving companies stand by just in case. So for a full box dispatch they send 4 engines, 2 ladders and 2 battalion chiefs. Upon arrival, companies will be placed in service as needed. Usually the first in (first due) engine, and the first in ladder will go in service for small fires or investigations, or it could be 2 engines, 2 ladders, 2 chiefs or even more for bigger fires. So an engine that's in service will stretch attack hoseline, connect to a hydrant, spray water, etc. A ladder that is in service will search for victims, force entry, ladder the building, ventilate and overhaul. Other companies not in service are on standby
God Bless stay conncted with the lord He loves yall never forget that
Nice
Why'd they pull out of the fire building?
The chief pulled everyone out because of the condition of the building and the amount of fire. It was a vacant building with holes in the floor and heavily damaged stairs. Heavy fire was showing from the 2nd floor front and also in the rear
@@jesseosada4690 I see the fire, but that makes more sense now knowing the interior structural conditions. Gotcha
Very bad ass- not my style, but great work.
Really good footage of the asphalt
The camera is attached to my helmet. I need to take it off in order to put my SCBA mask on just before I enter an IDLH environment.
I'm positive the camera is on his helmet which he had to remove to put his SCBA mask on before he went in to do his primary search
