    Hopefully you guys applied sunscreen before going to the roof. I’n my Dept. we have to apply sunscreen before roof opps. Don’t want no nasty skin cancer

    Goofy yellow helmets and big gawky eye shields , but they look cool without air paks

    No SCBA guys! That's childish and irresponsible. You don't have to risk your lives on the roof of a burning building, all you have to do is put the fire out and access the attic areas through the ceilings. What are you going to do, haul a hose up there to put the fire out under your feet? A lot of wasted manpower.

      We fight fires in similar type buildings in my city, and YES, you DO have to get up on the roof to open up those voids to find and extinguish the fire traveling in those voids. They usually cannot be reached from the interior.
