I am so torn between the steam Deck OLED or the Legion GO...GAHHHHH
All the current gen z1 and Chinese 8 series handhelds are comparable to the awkward teenager stage… not quite android gaming or Switch but not yet fully Xbox X/PS5 on the go… No matter what one you have of the current gen is fine until there’s a decent cpu/gpu update.
Black screen bug. Sent it back for repair 2 months ago, now it's happened again!
The legion go is going for 499 right now.
Great price
Literally just purchased a Legion Go, thanks for confirming my choice. Also wanted to say you come across as a natural and really enjoyed your presentation style and editing. Consider me subscribed, your channel will blow up in no time!
i can smell a steamdeckfangirl from a state away.
The interesting part is the controllers has gyroscope in them, and all I can think is Wii emulation with motion.
Very good point, emulation and Nintendo having me killed scares me if I ever talk about it lol
I’ve done a tonne of YouTubing, basically in my amateur opinion. - find your favourite games and find out if they play on said device - do you like a bigger screen? - do you do anything outside of said device - do you play in bed or have a lot of time that you need a battery? - memory capacity Not many questions beyond that 😂 Edit: and favorite OS system I chose legion 😅
Completely agree!
I skipped the Steam Deck and when I first entered Best Buy and tested the Demo Rog Ally a store associate approached me and said... "I am not supposed to say this but... don't buy it... a lot of customers have returned their Rog Ally" and within a short window Legion Go was announced. I bought the Legion Go on the first week of release and have no regrets. It's a great device and the only way I'll upgrade will be is if Legion Go 2 refines everything about the first Legion with better specs, slimmer, 24-32GB RAM, Z2-Z3 Extreme, no bezels or OLED screen, and definitely keep the detachable controllers. (I don't see the point of a Legion Go Light lacking a Z1).
Yeah I completely agree and I hope the company sees that as the path forward
So , anybody HAVE any GOOD REVIEWS After 1 Year of this Video ?
So I don’t have a straight review of the win4 I would recommend retro games corps or the phawx, I have a lot of insite or opinions I could give you, I’ve had the win mini 2024 for 8 months now and I just ordered a win max 2 so let me know if I can help
Good video.Add time marks on the vid
Thanks for the feedback. From now on they will be there!
When you playing games, do you keep the RSR on or off?
Depends on the title if it’s an fps most of the times I will, a souls game usually not but I’ve seen it improve things in some titles, make things worse in others and do absolutely nothing at all in others
The legion go new iteration just needs to be lighter , larger battery , improved fans/thermals ,better speakers , more ram and options for different true strike controllers , maybe larger thumb sticks as well , 2280 ssd instead of 2230 , move the 2nd usb c to the bototmf center and have a keyboard attachment.
Completely agree!
Gor it for 574 its so good
Great price!
i enjoy the ability to be able to use it as a tablet for watching youtube/movies/reading. i used to travel with my gaming laptop and a tablet. legion go is great cause it can be both. thought the battery life/ gaming performance and espeically the Software support is rather lacking. i feel the screen size is just right. just sharing my opinion. Im currently using lossless scaling for some games but i rally hope Lonovo do something with the AMF2. ( wonder how long it will take )
Yeah I agree with all of it. Thanks for watching!
I really hope the legion go doesn't go the smart phone route and bring a new model out every year. Ive only had 1st gen a few months and payed 600.00 expensive toy.
Depending on when it comes out in 2025 they’ll have skipped a year. Not sure exactly what the plan is for them and asus well and msi if they ever get it together
I think current Legion Go software is fine, only bad thing is lack of recent GPU drivers (you have to use hacky method to install latest 7840u drivers on it instead). I used to use Handheld Companion App instead of standard Legion software, but I switched back several months ago.
Is a LLG2 Really coming out ? I dont wanna get this if it ls soon?
It’s a 2025 thing I would assume Q1 so sometime in march April but it is coming we just don’t know when
Just buy it, imagine LeGo 2 or Ally 2 and its a mess from beginning and you let that bake 1 year and you purchase it. Dont be a early adopter if you cant stand bugs and issues. Next generation games will all have upscaling because of hardware restrictions. Look at the HX370 chip its not even that good, that is not even a generational leap when Steam launches Steamdeck 2 THEN upgrade because you know they will optimize it the best. Upscaling will be key so new hardware with new bugs will not be the solution for you. If we get DLSS on a broad spectrum its game over for AMD
@@hazzehummuz6688 good points and they’re sale rn , I’d just hate to want this newer “better” version lol hope it’s still fire
Better battery and at least 24GB of memory. 24GB would let you set GPU memory to 8GB and still have 16GB of normal RAM. VRR screen would be nice.
VRR would be very nice and I think more ram the merrier
Number 1… should be Lenovo support. 8 months and zero gpu driver updates. It’s shocking
I really wish that the z1 and z2 chips would update properly through the AMD adrenaline stuff.
I'm a previous steam deck oled owner (from launch day), I sold it 3 months ago, and I'm now looking to buy another handheld pc. Toss up between steam deck oled 1tb and legion go 512gb (£30/$40 more expensive), the bigger screen is what's drawing me to the legion go. I will use solely at home, with access to a plug or power bank at all times. Does the legion go outperform the deck? You mentioned optimisation bringing deck into the fight against the Z1 so I'm wondering performance wise, which is better? Oled deck or legion go?
Legion go will always crush the deck on pure performance. What games are you playing?
@joystickayrton thanks. Cyberpunk, RDR2, GTA V, single player AAA games, basically.
Legion go is still better 7 inch screen is small 😅
I agree!
Agree with the battery. If it were better I wouldn't complain at all.
I think 60-80watt in the next one is perfect
Got a new set of joycons here in the USA free of charge from Lenovo. Bought my legion go from Best Buy open box. Restated my warranty through Lenovo and everything I love their group
what your opinion on steam deck performance on AAA games. Can i play medium on 30fps like cyberpunk, last of us,ghost of tsushima , ragnarok , hogward legacy. Because i mainly buy this for play AAA GAMES
Maybe ill just buy a egpu for my legion 1 and skip the number 2
I got it day one. It beat the steam deck, and i never got a rog ally. Don't get me wrong the steam deck was cool but really struggled on games i preferred to play. So far, almost everything i throw at the legion go it runs. Like you said, an oled would be an amazing plus and extra battery life. I really hope they keep the controllers detachable like others have mentioned. I like the profile of the go also. Looking forward for the LEG2 cheers 🍻
I had a steam deck, currently have an ally x and legion go. I love the battery, fan, and vrr of the ally x but man it always feels like a different experience with that legion go screen. Playing red dead 2 and the witcher 3 is unmatched on that large screen.
I completely agree, the screen is a big difference!
Is there any news about the release of the second version of the device and when?
There’s almost 0 news seems like 2025
I guess 2025 Q2-Q3
If there is any news, I hope you will let us know.
@@joystickayrton .
Thank you all
Confused, you talked about how you like the steam deck, but show you using the Ally? 🤣
Just broll across the video. There’s a steam deck video, win mini video, win 4 video as well
Worst handheld i ever owned & used was the steamdeck had thr worst experience. Crashed all the time. I had to RMA my steamdeck 4 times plus 2 repairs.
Dang that’s wild, did you keep it?
Almost sounds hard to believe, I only have the legion Go now, but the steam deck Oled was the best build quality and operating device I owned out of the steam deck Oled, Rog Ally and legion Go, must of had terrible luck
I doubt that the price difference will be $100 between lite and refular go2. Probably on $200-300 range
Yeah that would make the most sense. But I think when the ally z1 to extreme launched I wanna say it was 100 bucks but I could be wrong
When the Legion 2 comes out, I'll get the Legion 1 when it comes down in price
Yeah I’m curious to see how low that gets
Black Friday will likely drop the price really low.
@@ProGamingProphecy here's hoping
I don't think that's the best strategy. You should always take in consideration the extra costs to spend VS the new features that a Gen 2 could offer. I've heared a huge improvement in processor memory and also battery so I've decided to save money and buy gen2 next year
@amirhaddad5025 I would be fine with a discounted gen1. Not trying to spend too much on an undepowered laptop with a controller attached. The most they cam do to help with the battery is put in a bigger one like Asus did. And they always claim "huge" improvements. And it's always marginal just like the ryzen apus
Customer support was great when I needed a new right controller, at first they wanted me to send the whole thing back until I specifically told then it was a detachable controller that was the problem, within 2 days had a replacement and didn't even need to send the other back, UK.
That’s awesome glad to hear you got taken care of!
Thanks for your video! Could you list the games that you're playing? Several looked interesting but I didn't recognize them. Thank you, God bless:-)
There’s a bunch! Total war Empire, Star Wars knights of the old republic 2, f1 manager 2023, baldurs gate 3, armored core 6, Elden ring, dark souls 3, ghost of tshumia, I think that’s it lol thanks for watching!
@@joystickayrton Awesome! What game is it at 4:56?
I never got the controller switch treatment they wanted me to send my whole device in. Maybe the tier of Warranty
What was the issue? Still have it?
@@joystickayrton the left one is pretty rocky so I got a piece of tape on the side so it stays. It was a thing in the beginning and I heard they got replacements for it on Reddit.
Still my favourite Windows gaming handheld yet. But since Asus has given 80Wh battery and 24GB RAM for Ally X, Lenovo should do the same for the next-gen Legion Go 2. There should also be a 32GB RAM option.
Yeah 32gb a bigger battery, and landscape maybe oled or amoled?
@@farishanafiah8461 On these handhelds putting more RAM won't do much unless the games are optimized for the mobile processors
What your thought on ally x
I think the 24gb doesn’t make a big enough difference unless you’re docking it, in the future it definitely will. As for the battery big plus on the original ally but compared to the deck or legion it’s not as noticeable. I just 7 inch screens are hard for me. I think it’s my second choice I’d pick it over the steam deck
To improve comfort everyone gets comfort grips and GeForce now ultimate and boom probable PS5 pro lol
Absolutely agree with you.... Any of those had easy start but get better overtime. I love legion and wouldnt change it. Disadvantage for all of them is ram size.... If they could do 32gb ram shared it would ve awesome. Support in UK/eu is awesome... Had issue with fan noise and collection next day even i didnt have it ready... During service plenty of email, pictures and updates.... Returned in 5-6days from sending it.
More RAM won't really make much of a difference.
Yeah I agree, that’s awesome on the service. Thanks for watching!
I wonder what the Legion 2 is going to be like. Detachable controllers are a huge thing for me because when its a tablet it can be mounted on a gooseneck mount and that's perfect for any kind of chair or bed.
Totally agree with you. Lenovo accidentally made a modern 8" Windows tablet, and I really couldn't have been any happier.
Completely agree, thanks for watching!
@@farishanafiah8461 I just wish other handheld makers would do the same. like the retroid pocket or ayaneo. just give me a 7 inch tablet and reduce the price. I will find it way more useful.
if they stop the detachable controllers it will be a unlikely purchase for me
I'm really close to pulling the trigger on a Legion Go used for about £400 (UK) It's cheap enough that I can sell on and not lose too much money if something new comes to the market that interests me. I have a PS5 and really want a handheld gaming PC as I'm actually using my Switch more these days. I think it's Microsoft that holds the key to the future of this market. If they can streamline Windows on an Xbox handheld and have an optional eGPU dock that just works, they will set the standard.
Just put out a 1 year review video it think it’s awesome
own n currently on a oled 1TB but was v tempted to get ally x n maybe try to sell oled. Then heard z2 chips inbound nxt year. So figured best to wait n ssee tho still tempted
Yeah really just depends on that z2 improvement and cost. We’re in limbo honestly because the HX chips are 20% faster but man are they expensive. GPD claiming double the cost of the 7840u and the 8840u
That is a pretty Cool pc / tablet
This video was very useless 👎🏽
shut your hating ass up !
Thanks for the feedback I will always try to improve
What the hell was the point of this video
Exactly he just said a bunch of nothing
That's the case for 95% of these overall youtube video's
Aryton gaming first family second never forget that pal
Buy Lenovo Legion or White Ally now at 500 buck because 2025 not be great just a little refresh +15-20% from rog ally X (3000 time spy graphics) to "Lunar lake" Msi Claw 2 and "Strix" Z2 extreme Rog ally 2 / Legion 2 (3450/3600 time spy graphics). 2026 will be much more interesting. If you already have a next Gen handheld wait 2026/27
oled still considered NGH?
Bro while watching your video I changed the settings the one that's located on the left hand side the one that transfers from controller to mouse mode. And it solved the issue
I'm considering buying one of these but jeez.. "like and subscribe" 30 seconds in? ...I'm curious why you think we are so dumb that we can't like or subscribe to a channel without being told? (quite frankly, speaking for myself, I find this quite irritating and I'm less likely to do as you ask, I don't need to be told)
