Competition is good for end users as it will be pushing manufactures be better than others. I agree with you, that it is only on us to pick what is suite to us. I also agree with you that the 7inch screens are too many and that just copying one to other and not bringing new ideas which wont help for developing handhelds.
Good video and I cant; wait what handhelds will bring in next year as i am expecting explosion of power/speed

@@joystickayrtonthere will always be a couple rotten eggs when it comes to any group of people, companies, products, etc.; in this case it was MSI, yet it doesn't mean that all the products are shit like MSI's, and the products of the other companies usually are of acceptable to great quality, hell even for all their shitty post-sale practices, Asus listened to the complained about the Ally and solved the issues in the first revision of the platform; USB 4 instead of their propertary port for eGPU and the heat killing the micro SD, they could have just yolo a solution or ignored the problem.

18:35 Flopping is a good thing. It tells the manufacturer what we want and don't want, and if they don't listen to this niche area, then they deserve to flop. The more product lines that flop, then the market is less saturated - and so goes the cycle. The winners will be us

comment section's kinda missing that some of these devices barely differentiate and that the availability of so many options is usually what comes before consolidation, when a bunch of these half-baked devices with a bunch of hardware issues (don't they always - laptops too) and barely working software will get zero support because oops that product was a failure. it may just be smart to get a deck and upgrade once the dust settles.

The controller layout makes only the steam deck and zotac relevant to me. So its really not over saturated for me. I probably will get the zotac and run nobara os on it. Basically make my own steam deck 2. I just wish they were using strix point with 24-32gb ram.

i personally dont care about their form factor. where i think asus and lenovo dropped the ball was putting in screens with resolutions without the hardware to make use of it. like sure the z1 extreme is more powerfull than the steamdeck apu, but all those gains go out the window with 1080+ displays.

In Xbox. I don't see any reasons for that to happen. Especially for the fact that WINDOWS HANDHELD have XBOX games. Sony on the other hand. It may happen in the future since they've been known to release playstation portable. If Sony would plan to release a handheld that allows gamers to play PS4/PS5 games on the GO. It may be called Playstation Portable 2. But don't expect for it to sell well because of the PSN LIMITATION.

The Zotac Zone is very compelling with dual track pads and thumb stick dials ...I know its a portrait display but its still an OLED and people are crazy about that. I'm also looking forward to the orange pi neo.
The thing is, if they are all copies of each other something has to change for them to sell, and that something will be price.

I mean, all having similar designs is down to ergonomics, because, the human hand design won't change anytime soon and thus there are only so many ways to design a confortable handheld PC/Console.
It was the same with the controllers, in the times of the first 3 geneations of consoles there was a lot of crazy and weird designd of controllers floating around, fast foward 40 years and there are basically 2 main design choices, the PS and Xbox designs because they are near to the optimal ergonomic design for the human hand and even the Nintendo and other third party designs are extremely similar to either the PS or Xbox designs in shape.
Machines which have to accommodate the human body are very limited in their possible designs given the inherently stagnation of the very own human body shape becuse evolution moves at glacial speeds.

    • @carlosdgutierrez6570
      @carlosdgutierrez6570 23 дня назад

@@joystickayrton I mean, I don't want to come as abrasive but the most important thing to consider when designing a device like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Legion Go, MSI Claw, Ayaneo, etc., is how it will fit between the human hands and if you look at your hands you will realize that there are about 2, maybe 3 form factors for any hand held device that can fit without creating health issues to your hands articulations.
Yeah, you can tweak a little the form factors but the limitations still will be your hands shape and the range of motion for your hands and finger articulations, which are extremely limited compared to how many shapes and movements machines which are not intended to serve as HID can take.

The first Claw version failed 'Coz it was overpriced with a weaker INtel integrated GPU, that's it, the Automobile industry would be to you aswell saturated i assume, if you can get a cheaper vehicule with a decent specs ,Gas or electric/ intel,Amd or Nvidia, the more competition we get the more option we get, they'll understand that innovating with a cheaper price is the way to go

Xbox is making one so I'll stick with the steamdeck until that comes out.
I won't buy another device from a company that doesn't offset the cost with game sales.
But saying they shouldn't exist.. na. I disagree.
