So for context, this program provides a virtual surround sound experience for cheap STEREO headsets that drastically lowers the overall quality of the audio. So if you don't have a headset that supports surround sound you can buy this and maybe see a small improvement in directional audio in exchange for all sound effects in the game becoming muffled Personally I hate surround sound in video games anyways because imo it distorts the audio too much. Crisp audio is way more important to me when it comes to hearing faint footstep audio

So I pay $20 extra for a game I already spent $70 on sounds fair 😭

The greed for this makes Chinese and Korean Pay to Win mobile games look tame. The other thing is I wouldn't give out my ear profile so easily. Your ear is like your finger print as you can be identified from just an ear. So, I wouldn't want to give out my Ear profile to some random people. It's like giving your finger prints to a random company.

I question the legality of activisions ability to price wall my machine. If my computer has the capability (software) for a given sound quality, how is activsion able to limit what my machine can do and make me pay for it. I have the ability to decrease sound and video quality, it feels intrusive that I would have to pay for a quality that my machine already posses. Is this the same principle for watching IMAX vs regular theater?

FFXIV has this same thing, its also a separate purchase. Its just a seperate audio service you can pay for that the game supports. I dont' think this is that bad. A stupid thing, but I don't think its evil or bad. Its a different service that the game just supports.

It's AUDIO RAYTRACING - it literally could make things WORSE to pinpoint directions. Anytime you use virtual surround in games or "7.1" modes... it is worse. It is not "BETTER" unless you just like how it sounds just like with "RTX" if you like how it looks. You can here comparisons online it is relly bad for pinpointing the exact distance of the sound because of the HUGE amount of reverb AND the reverbe changes in EVERY location. I repeat - this is NOT going to be pay-to-win. It is a paid 7.1 audio mode that is a scam by itself.

Just in case anyone thought cod devs have even a minuscule amount of respect for their players..

The worst part is that you know they 100% downgraded the audio quality for anyone not using this paid bullshit.

If COD players are anything like OW players, then they don't care where the advantage comes from. They'll buy the audio like the average OW player will play with cheaters for that free sr.

Its sad that it's come to this. Now if you want the full cod experience you have to drop $90. I would rather buy 3 $30 games that give me way more play time that will last more than the year that BO6 will run.

It seems the 3rd party is what’s being paid for, not the setting. If, for some weird off chance, you have the 3rd party software, you wouldn’t need to pay for the cod sound settings. Do correct me if I’m wrong
