Unless people explicitly articulate and clarify how they see and define terms like intelligence, value, work, the good life, etc. they won't be able to FULLY understand the nature and impact of AI. Take a deceptively simple concept like "work." Consciously or unconsciously, most people think of it as "showing up at one place five days a week and doing what the boss requires." But if we re-define it as input + processing algorithm = output = $$$ (paycheck), then it would be clear that AI or even software programs can EASILY replace human workers. That's because most jobs are really just routines or procedures or algorithms. Any software engineer with computational thinking skills, can extract the key processes of a person's job and create a software program (ideally including LLMs) that replaces most tasks in that job.
