There's only about 50 titles out of the 15,000 that I ever care to play, so I set up a torrent for the latest full set of non-merged files and just checked the ones I needed. Then I kept the torrent running; if I discover there's a new game I want, I need only check the one box in the torrent and it's almost instantly there. Next, I make sure that I have the exact MAMA version that matches the rom set. Finally, I pull out the art and other files I need just for those games. Instead of more than a hundred gigbytes, the entire collection is less than one. One other thing: MAME is an ongoing project, constantly improving and expanding. Having said that, if you have a collection that works, there's likely little need to update every month. In fact, you might go an entire year without any update which directly affects your collection. So in other words, if your collection is not broken, you probably don't need to fix it. A final tip: MAME is not "installed" on your computer, necessarily. The MAME installer only creates a single directly and puts all of the files needed into it to run directly from that folder. Thus, you can run MAME from anywhere, including a flash drive. After your MAME collection is finished, and it has your rom/art/etc files, make a backup and put it away.

There's now a new "progressive (optimal)" deinterlacing option and no option to disable it in that menu, I guess it's the best? Nice guide but some more visual comparison examples would've been helpful at times!

I came from your Sega model 2 and 3 , they worked like a charm and I even managed to get them to work on Launchbox ^^ any chance you could make a video about the best mapping for the will controllers ? I did hear that some games does have some unique controller settings....is there a way to make a universal mapping or as least something that could work for all (important will games ) ~

Extremely helpful tutorial: beautifully explained, simple and to the point. Maybe a little outdated now as the "Apply Widescreen Patches" and "Apply No-Interlacing Patches" options in the Graphics tab have been removed for whatever reason (I'm using the latest Nightly build) In any case, this is one of the best channels if not THE best as far as emulation tutorials are concerned 👍🏆

I use the none merged 0.270 set but this build is for specific games and not wanting to import the full romset. can i still use your stem just only import the config files for the games I am adding to MAME. Can we get help with wheel configurations? Many ppl will use steering wheels for Model 2 and Model 3.

Did you happen to do controller re-maps for these with digital input for PlayStation controllers? I am having the same issue you described on the forum with wild riders, turn left and it goes into a slide like it is turning left and adding rear brake at the same time. Also with Rt66 gas and nitrous is the same button. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your video I was wondering if you could help me with a weird problem. My emu works GREAT with the front End, but EVERY BUTTON I PRESS plays weird sound samples of a Japanese girl, on EVERY GAME. When I press Start it sounds like she says "SUZUKI!", when I press right bumper she says something that sounds like "BAHN!" When I press A she says "CHU!" Any ideas?

Some games still runs slow for some reason. I have no idea how to solve this.

OH I have a question ! is there a way to launch the games on launchbox without going through the Supermodel menu ? like how the rest of the emulators only run with one click ~ ( because I think I did mess up something along the way x( I did try to connect launchbox to Supermodel exe and it didn't run the games but when I contacted it to the Supermodel UI ? it run run them in the emulator just fine (by the Supermodel menu)

I was running into a problem with applying the widescreen mod. After installing the game 1.4 repack, it runs fine on windowed 640x480. Copying in all the widescreen mod files and setting a res just doesn't seem to have any effect, game continues on running just like before. do I have the wrong speed.exe?

I finally got this running, but I have strange soft glitchy click sounds when I press most buttons, move the thumbstick, etc; and I have occasional flashes of blue here and there. Any idea what those are or how I can rectify them? I'm playing Jet Set Radio Future.
