    Thanks for the video. Is the front of the prop shaft bolted in, or does it slide out after removing the rear torn bolts. I guess the front is just a splined shaft?

      @@flymoracer Yes the front Prop joint is bolted in with external Torque Bolts to the PTU (Transfer Box) Flange. If you are wanting to remove the flange from the PTU you need to remove the propshaft to gain access to the large Nut Holding it onto the PTU Output Shaft. Hope that makes sense.

      @@flymoracer Yes its same as the diff. Propshaft bolts upto a flange thats is bolted onto a splibe in the ptu

      @@alastair_4343 Thats silly as if the water pump fails chances are the timing belt will fall off and damage the inlet and exhaust valves. Its good practice on Every Timing Belt job to replace the water pump reguardless of condition if it is run off the timing belt.

    Do you also have overflow of coolant from the reservoar bottle when the heater is turned on inside the car? I have no heating and coolant overflow in mine Leon FR

      @@lukedevries9314 watch the vide from 2.00 to 2.20. You need to insert a 6mm bolt into the flange then knock it through with a hammer and chizel

    had the shocks replaced once, broken springs replaced... have to avoid motorway sections with ripples between the concrete sections and cobble stone streets as I thought they were the cause of excessive vibration and damage... I also keep the tire pressure correct, it's awful if they are overinflated (hard). I have no idea if the mechanic ever replaed the bearings though, maybe they are just worn down... I last had 'the twang' nearly a years ago.. took it to 2 garages and they both said there's no problem, despite the fact I can feeel the steering is well off... and it just went through an MOT check and they said the steering was fine too :) Meanwhile I don't really feel safe driving the car and want to sort it out.. I live in Germany btw, 225 000 km so far, 2009 model. I have back seats removed and the vehicle is rarely loaded, and when it is loaded with weight it's just for a 10 min journey back from the merchants, so I'm guessing this is why I've got a way with it so long?

    My silica bag hasn't split but only have hot air passenger side and not drivers side. Do they naturally block up over time?

      @@jasonjay7650 yeah ive done a few now that have blocked up. The bag was fine but the matrix was still full of particles so they must leak out somewhere 😂

    Some of the expansion bottles are double skinned and the desiccant bag sits in between the walls and can't be removed. Easy enough to just replace the bottle with one without the desiccant bag. Only about £25. Just replaced the one in my golf.

    Fantastic video, very clear and really helpful. My Landrover 2 has this knocking sound, after replacing front nr side strut and shockorbsorber. My garage have been baffled and waiting for some info from Land Rover. I wonder if the knocking sound is the Anti Roll Bar - drop link. I'll mention it tomorrow when collecting the vehicle, complete with knocking noise lol

    Excellent vid again!!!... top tip.. when torquing up the disk to hub bolts drop thd hub into a wheel and lob a couple of wheel nuts on.... so much easier to hold still😊

      @@soundslight7754 Thank You. You dont have to change mounts as pairs as they are bolted solid to the car. If it was a moving part like a spring or a shocker then it is recommended to change them in pairs.

    My citroen relay with this engine had so much crankcase pressure, it was forcing oil out through the turbo seals. was just going to try and keep it going for a couple of months and then scrap it. Twenty quid in parts and a couple of hours work, and it's good as new: no smoke from the oil filler cap, and no leaks from the turbo. Thank You soo much for sharing this.

    Jacked the Car Up today & took a Picture of the Installed Haldex Unit, It has a Part Number of HA1/113430/1.13.048.401.02 Dated 02--09-2016 with 08-38-57 Made In Germany, It Looks like a GEN4, But when I Google, it says that it is for a Volvo? What Do you think?

      The position of the motor is different and also look at the filter position. On gen. 4, it's moved a bit. So take a look at pictures on the web, of both. The filter for the Haldex is longer for the gen. 4. Both can be bought ORIGINAL from Volvo, as they also use them on XC 90-70-60 etc. models. About same price as non-fitting aftermarket parts. Trust me, I've been there. Never again. There is a date when they changed from gen. 3 to 4, but I can't remember it, and there may be cars that was built before and after that date with the opposite Haldex coupling. So just take a look at pictures. But looking at your production date, I'd say it's surely a gen. 4 Haldex. Your nearest Volvo dealership have the right part ready within the same day; I had that good service. As I remember it, Haldex was made by Borg/Warner, but was sold on. No worries though. Just use original Volvo parts from a Volvo dealership, as they are original Borg/Warner. NOT aftermarket parts for this purpose. These have wrong spring, bad bad bolts and a slightly different design. Not to use. Be warned. Seriously. Kind regards.

    Hi, How do I find out what Gen my Haldex Pump is Without crawling under the Car? Will a Gen5 fit where a Gen4 was fitted? I went on Scuderia & put in my VIN & it gave me a JLR Part Number of LR075763 but a LR008958 also fits!!! JLR seem to update their part numbers on a daily basis. I don't want to buy the wrong one...I have a MY2014 Pure 2.2 Diesel with a 9-Speed Gearbox.... I had my Haldex Pump replaced under warranty in 2016, but it looks to have failed again.....So I'm biting the bullet & getting a Pump & Filter Kit just in case..... Very informative Video by the way....

      @@peterromaniuk5771 Thank you. So so from 2011 to 2015 they are all generation 4 haldex and pump. From 2015 onwards they are all generation 6. Yours should be a generation 6 but worth checking when the car was registered as some 2015s have the gen 4 haldex systems

      Also does it matter whether you have a 6-speed AUTO or 9-Speed? As mentioned above, mine is the 9-Speed

      @@peterromaniuk5771 yes i would assume yours is a gen 4 but having the 9 speed auto it wouldnt suprise me if its a gen 5 as that is the newer gearbox that was fitted to the facelift models along with gen 5 haldex. Worth having a look before you order parts as its close to the year change

    On the TDI engines the heater core comes after the EGR cooler and if this is blocked the coolant boils in the EGR causing coolant to be lost out of the expansion tank! Then the useless VW service garages mis-diagnose it to be a leaking EGR cooler or faulty intercooler, or blown head gasket etc. After spending $$$$$ you then realise it's only the heater core! Fitting of an inline coolant filter would likely stop this problem or at least delay it for a good while.

    Im taking my engine out next week but thinking of leaving the transmission in place and undoing the engine mounts so i can move it forward then up and out, Im only doing an engine refurb so no body work but i will be removing the radiator and inter cooler, just wanted your thoughts on doing it this way and any tips would be much appreciated, Thanks.

      @@markdefender2973 If you are doing it on the drive without a pit then thats the best way to do it in my opinion. The centre support has a mounting point to rest the gearbox on while the engine is out (chock with a peice of wood between it)

    I've just changed these injectors on a 2.2 transit. You could clearly see the injectors bubbling oil up through rocker cover injector seals , that engine also had a cracked pisyon

    Hi, I have a query please which is driving us insane! 🤯 so same platform but A3 TDI, only overheats and spews out coolant at motorway speed. Is okay locally for the most part. Thermostat, heater matrix, thermostat sensor, water pump, All been changed! No gunk in the oil, engine sounds fine. No smoke from exhaust. Just Perplexed as to what it is. Has been manually flushed and coolant added several times. Pressure tested, no leaks identified. Just spews out the coolant tank when it gets too hot 😑 any advice greatly appreciated pls 🙏

    Just completed this job and I doubt if I would have even tried it without this video and watching a few others as well on RUclips. Thank you so much for your expert explanations. It seems that there are some very similar actuator part numbers and even a site where I typed in the car reg sold me the wrong part. I only found out when I came to change it. I then only got the right part by quoting the part number off the sticker on the old one, and even then, some sites cross referenced it to the same wrong part as I was shopping around. Also, I came across a work around on another posters video for the nightmare handle cable removal - i.e. remove the door handle and then following this video, you can 'relatively' easily remove the entire actuator mechanism. Thanks again.

    Hello and thanks for this brilliant video, does such a problem cause the engine to rev to the highest possible rpm even without touching the pedal...?

      Thank you. No thats usually the turbo seals that are leaking oil into the intake causing the engine to run on its own oil.
